Mio and Niimi outside on my B-Day.

I spent this afternoon outside in the yard with Mio and Niimi, taking pictures of them, as it's one of my favorite things to do and what felt like the perfect thing to do on the day that marks my 31st year on this planet.

 

I hope those who view these enjoy them as much as I did shooting them. For a fair number of the photos, I was intentionally trying to capture some lens flare from the afternoon sun, which I found is not too easy with a Carl Zeiss lens. When the flare is caught however, the results were quite pleasing to me is about all I can really say about it.

Nice photos. But you're right lens seems to have flare pretty well controlled. Maybe try a different one next time if that's the effect you're going for.

Happy Birthday! That sounds like a wonderful way to spend your birthday. The photos have such a serene feel to them. They are like the photos in futuristic anime series when scenes of a perfect past are lovingly recalled. They are almost nostalgic to me even though I have never been there. I feel a sense of wishing I was there and at the same time I feel peace looking at them as if I am remembering a beautiful afternoon with loved ones. I think that is part of it. I see how treasured and loved these two are through the photos and I can identify with that feeling. Thank you for sharing this special time with us.

The lens does seem to have the flare well controlled, but this was the effect I was looking for. I know my Sony 50mm f/1.4 isn't nearly as well controlled, but not terrible either. I'm not sure of the rest of my glass, as I've not tried it. Sounds like an experiment for later.

Thank you. I enjoy every day with them, even more so the days when I can take them out somewhere to photograph them, even if it's just the front and side yard. I really love how Mio looks in this outfit too, I had to bring out her fancy earrings for it.

Thanks! It was in the 60F temperature range outside that day which was nice. I think the girls enjoyed themselves as well.

Thanks! Volks advertised the outfit as a boys one, but unlike with the SD13 and 17 boy outfits on DDs, the MSD boy outfits seem to fit MDDs quite well. The pants are quite snug and the rest of it fits well in spite of my worries with regards to her MDD L bust.

I couldn't think of any better way to spend your B-day. Sounds like the perfect day getting to be outside with your girls taking amazing pictures.
