Saturday photography fun

I finally got around to acquiring some better gear for lighting in my dark little apartment, so I spent a few hours playing around with flash placement/settings. I've been neglecting a few of my girls recently so this was a bit of a makeup photo session. ^^

 

First out we have poor Yumemi and her mostly broken MDD body. She's ready for winter in her Snow Miku outfit...

And I love the outfit Eimii is wearing, it's perfect for her!

Thanks! I have to admit I was too lazy to change her into blue eyes but I think it looks pretty good like this as well, seeing as she's just cosplaying. ^^

 

The MDD body probably has every single issue a MDD body can have. Cracks in both ankles and wrists, the lower arms fall out if you look at them sternly, both rings around the spine are cracked, and the knees/hips have received kips treatment. Amazingly enough she doesn't have a single stain!

Oh yes, I have... a lot of boxes on their way to me from various parts of the world right now. >_<

Care to say a bit more about Your new light setup?

 

Thank you for the comments! I invested in a Nikon SB-910 and a SB-700. The SB-910 is mounted on the camera (D5100) usually pointed upwards to bounce the flash, and the SB-700 is mounted on a light stand to the left either shooting through an umbrella or bouncing on one. And on the right I have a reflector.

 

I've been using Nikon's Advanced Wireless Lighting to control the second flash which is why I ended up getting a SB-910 instead of two SB-700s (As it has all the features in case I decide to get fancy in the future).

 

Right now I've just been using the standard iTTL mode and letting the flashes decide what to do and it's worked pretty well.

Thank you! It's mostly just the wig and a hairband, and then some sleeves and socks/shoes. ^^

Look out Mashiro, Akari looks really amazing in your wig. ^_^ I love Akari's look so far, she is really beautiful. I'm really excited to see what her final one will look like.

 

Wonderful pics of your girls. The new light set up really is working well for you. You captured some really terrific pictures. I have to say my fav is the last one, that is just too cute. But probably really dangerous on your wallet. =3
