katnaper Posted January 26, 2014 Thanks Amara. It was actually harder to sew it than the dress. LOL. The material was so thin, I should have hand sewn it instead in hindsight. We have our own BLOG. SisterKyoya Posted March 9, 2014 DivinitaAria: Great minds think alike eh? I've been drafting clothes and other things like crazy for Naiomi's Closet. Still can't believe that Dakota's outfit was started and finished in 4-5 days (inc. the pattern drafting). There are other things I've been working on but I only have photos of simple skirts and all the different tshirt sizes I've finally gotten printed out. I've got an all white/muslin version of Naiomi's 50s dress from Halloween to do, DDdy version of the same & possibly a color variation, a couple color variations of Dakota's above outfit, B&W ver. of Bree's handkerchief dress, a dress for Ellie, aprons, full circle skirts, an MDD outfit with pantaloons... all within the next few weeks. Urg. Not too hard to see why I haven't been on the forums, but at least I'm happy and it isn't just busy work. Hope to get some more interesting photos soon. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram

Coco Posted March 27, 2014 Man, I wish I wasn't too lazy to draft patterns. I came up with a cool idea for some neon stretch lace I found, but I get overwhelmed every time I go to do it. D: However, I am slowly working up figuring out how to work with tulle so Rika can have some punky tutu skirts. After that, I want to make Rika a sexy swimsuit for summer using some SWEET silver tiger stripe fabric I also found. Man, if I could find the perfect 80's style fabric and a pattern I once came across in the costume shop, Rika would have some really retro outfits.
Nelly19 Posted June 21, 2014 Hi. I am attempting to make a bjd lacefront wig. Kind of a semi- permanent hair piece. I don't like wigs, and I am just tying something new. Its for an obitsu. (I am not sure if this is allowed, if it isn't am sorry and please remove it) Simply I am purchased new doll and a wig cap that was a size bigger than her head. I ten outlined a hairline that I want. My next steps are to ventilate hair to the cap...I don't want that elastic end the cap. So am thinking of saran wrapping my spare head and using some kind of fabric (paper doesn't seem like a good idea) and using some e-6000 to give the wig shape. I think if it works out from there I may use emler's glue to seal it to the head temporarily. Sigh its just a plan. I have gotten to the outline on the cap and the cap on the spare head ready to ventilate. Wish me luck lol Learning that its safe outside my shell too
Evaglade Posted July 4, 2014 Hi I have had a little bit of free time so have been making a few bags from scraps of fabric. I'm pretty pleased with how they have turned out my favorite is Asukas stripey red and black messenger bag. I tried to make them in different styles and made a smaller one for my SOs mini dd. As they are pretty fast to make I may end up whipping up a few more, they are machine stitched and lined inside. I didn't make a pattern just drew them up. katnaper Posted September 5, 2014 Trying to learn to knit using a circle loom and decided to practice making some hats for the girls. Its seems the smallest loom makes a hat just the right size. I think I will need to make an even smaller loom though to be able to use smaller yarn so the hats look better. In the meantime though, I'm fairly happy with these results. We have our own BLOG. SisterKyoya Posted November 22, 2014 What am I making? Nothing much... just a paper bed. ... ... ... ... Can a paper bed be strong enough for a DD? Yes, yes it can! In fact the bed isn't even glued together entirely yet. This however is NOT Miku's bed, it's actually for Miss Lottie, and is going to be MUCH fancier (and painted) when it is done. The headboard and foot board are going to be filled with S curve shapes and other curly Q type fancy decorations (here's a link to my paper quilling board to show you what I'm talking about.) I'm still not sure if I'll need multiple layers of cardstock to make it sturdy enough, but I'll find out when I get there. I'm thinking of painting it a copper or aged brass but I need to find where or if I can find some metallic craft paint in the color I'm looking for. It's so like me to choose something so complicated (and awesome) for a 'first time' project. This actually started as an experiment to see if I could scale up one of the My Froggy Stuff beds so it would work with DD. And as for the quilling, I've never done it before. I decided to do this because Ralph is borrowing Miss Lottie's body for a few months, and the poor girl has only had new hair and eyes in the year she's been here. I finally have the paint I've needed for her faceup, but now I have to wait for the weather to improve before I can do it. Giving her the fanciest bed feels like the least I can do to make up for letting Ralph hold onto her body. I'm hoping to work on Rainie & Ringo's bed soon since it will be a walk in the park compared to this one. Other than that, I've been working on a blender for Tama's kitchen. Finally I'm starting to get around to doing the projects I need so the backgrounds in my photos aren't all the same! And if that isn't enough, I'll be working on custom wigs soon too. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram
