Hello again this time as Highlander

Sorry for the confusion, I should have joined as Highlander as Misheru pointed out so well, so I have done so, and this is my introduction...

 

You may already know something about me from some of Misheru's comments in posts here I started collecting dolls thanks to a combination of my love for JRPGs and a certain cute red-headed Silkstone that happened to resemble a favorite character of mine. After a long and tortuous route, I landed fair and square in the 22-inch doll area and love it. I started out with an Obitsu, but my collection has grown from there, when I think about how short a time (relatively speaking) I have been doing this, I am surprised at the size of the vinyl family that Misheru and I have grown. My collection has a combination of Volks and Obitsu ladies with several Volks/Obitsu hybrids.

 

I have 23 ladies right now;

 

Mariko - aka Miss Mariko (Mariko Sensei)

ui (Yukino ver 2)

Izumi (Haruka Niimi)

Sophitia (Saber)

Haruka (Moe 2)

Neris (Neris)

Emma (Rise) - Emma is named after an R&D 15-inch resin fashion doll called Emma, there is a story behind that too....

Asuna (yes, Asuna as in the character on Sword Art Online - HD06 on Obitsu body)

Shion Uzuki (from Xenosaga - Aoi [HD 02] on Obitsu body)

Pamela Ibis (Miu head on Obitsu body)

Kira (Parabox Sheba head with custom face on Obtisu body)

Mariko (Parabox Gretel head with custom face on Obitsu body)

Rio (Obitsu head and 60cm body - fleshtone set)

Rena (Obitsu head and 60cm body)

Kyoko (Obitsu Haruka on Obitsu 60bm body)

Suzie (Obtisu painted eye head and 60cm body) - related to Emma

Madoka (Parabox Gretel head with custom face on Obitsu body)

Midori (Parabox Gretel head with custom face on Obitsu body)

Mayu (Yamato Super Sonico head on Obitsu 50cm body)

Chi (Parabox Alice head on Obitsu 50cm)

Shion (Parabox Megu head on Yamato Super Sonico body)

Hibiki (Parabox Gretel head with custom face on Obitsu sliding joint body)

Meruru (Parabox Ai-chan head on Obitsu 60cm body)

 

As you can see there is a bit of variety and a fair number of hybrids.

 

Hoping that KOS-MOS and Momo join Shion in my collection in the next year...to make it a nice round 25 ladies making up my side of H&M House of Vinyl.

 

*story about Emma. Emma is named after a doll made by R&D called Emma. They made a series called the R&D Angels, and a specific collection called the Heavenly S.H.E. Each letter corresponded with one of the 3 limited edition dolls in the series, Selina, Hiroko and Emma. Emma was my first doll of 15-inches or taller, and for whatever reason she really struck a chord with me. To cut to the chase, when Rise arrived from Volks, her eyes seemed lifeless to me and I wanted to change them. At the same time, Misheru found a wig in something she'd bought and it happened to be the right size, color and length to match the hair of the original Emma doll. Once new eyes and the wig were in place, Rise suddenly looked just like Emma. Immediately I knew what her name would be from now on, and her personality solidified in my head. So now you know the story....

Welcome aboard! It's great to have you here! That is one impressive list of ladies you have.... congrats on making my family look small! LOL

Though that is one of the things I like about this hobby, it doesn't matter how many you have, what matters is what they mean to you. It's certainly not a race or competition to me, it's just more pretty vinyl to enjoy.
