Shakugan no Shana Project

yeh i know, it's yet another project. but i have so many ideas in mind and i find it better to get input really early to plan the projects in order to get good well-planned results.

 

the idea with this project was to not only make a MDD of my fave character (Shana) but also of a number of other girls from the series. the characters bellow are the ones i might do, note that i might end up not doing all of them, but most of them.

now as said i'm not sure how many of these i'll actually do and how long it will take. it's a long running project and i'll start of with Shana and Wilhelmina. but deciding on all components beforehand is a good thing and all input is welcomed over the time this takes

Well, you are looking at Itou Noizi designs, so the haruhi gang heads are a good start.

 

However many have done a Shana out of a Louse head also besides the obvious haruhi choise.

the only problem with these as i see it are Price and Availability. it will be a hard task to get those heads and for a reasonable price

Well, for a right here right now option, they are not the best of choises, and Ill admit suggesting louise was a bit cheeky overall.

 

But I dont think the old master of mayhem is that bad an option considering her head is basicly ready made for non flamehaze shana.

 

I wouldnt recomend going after just the head, but the best course there could be stalking a fullset, and selling off whatever you dont need (you'll still need the fullsize body for either Margery or Willhelmina), to claw back some money. And im saying this because I got my haruhi fullset for less than retail off YJA (although was a bit above retail after middle man fee's).

suggesting louise are not bad, the best custom shana i have yet seen used louise and you get the correct body in one go. but it's probably a bit pricy.

 

and i can imagine Mikuru's head will do a good kazumi.

 

any recommended sites aside from Mandarake to get good deals on?

Those mandarake prices dont seem too bad at first glance, considering if you stalked a doll off yahoo.jp more near to retail price, the broker fees could add it all up to around the same madarake is asking.

so all in all it's either or price-wise. i'd repaint haruhi's brows red of course if i use that head and replace the eyes with red. my biggest problem is that i like haruhi and would feel bad to redo her to something else ><. but on the other hand i only need one haruhi and i already have azone 1/3. but i'll browse around a bit more, i still need to finish Silica

managed to catch the Azone 50cm summer uniform of mandarake!, and ordered a MDD body and wig. so Shana is now on the go. what's left is to buy eyes of SQLab and find a decent Haruhi deal to steal a head and get a DD body for Wilhelmina, so it's two shana dolls on the go right now!

Finally got some of the things i ordered. DD Haruhi, MDD body, MDD Hands (for holding sword etc) and Azone 50cm clothes

better yet i can buy a black wig and use haruhi's eyes for black hair shana as a variant option. unless i repaint eyebrows red, they are actually supposed to be red. i really should repaint, but i will check how the brown ones match up before i do anything because it would be nice to actually be able to do this flame haze switch thing.

Alright, while waiting for Shana and Wilhelmina's eyes to arrive, as well as Shana's wig, i started on Wilhelmina's clothes a bit. this is what it looks like so far

 

Purple part done, it looks plain without the white "maidy bits" over it, but this is how it looks

 

also i actually made underpants and under-skirt as well since it's supposed to be so, even if you'd probably never see it because of the purple dress

 

Also i need a little help, if anyone can find a wig suitable for Wilhelmina, and boots, please link it to me!, she have a pretty damn hard hairstyle to find, mores o in the right colour (pink-purple-ish). and i can only seem to find black boots like hers, but i need brown!.

Clothes about done, now i just need to wait til DDH 06 are back in stock, find a wig and shoes and it'll be all set

 

I also gave her a ribbon, her signature "weapon"

Finally got Shana's wig ^^ the shipping on this one was very slow ><. just need to get my SQ eyes now, they are shipped so should arrive soon enough together with Wilhelmina's eyes. that leaves only a head and wig for Wilhelmina, and boots. so again if anyone finds a accurate looking wig (style and color), and boots, please link it here!

I think since the wig is such a vivid red you might not have to worry about coloring the eyebrows red, since the hairpiece is such a focus point.

 

Sort of like the Nagato Yuki DD, where her eyebrows are actually brown, but you still dont make note of it underneath the purple hair. (Or Feena Fam Earthlights green one's for that mater...)

yeh. also, Brown is a quite good ballance between Red and Black in order to swap hair and eyes for flamehaze and none flamehaze Shana

They look great so far. Her wig is a pretty close match to her hair in the anime. I'm jealous of your Shana's uniform. I never had the money for it whenever I saw it on ebay.

Eyes finally arrived so here we go, she is as good as finished, i just want to style an ahoge, but i have no stuff to style that at the moment. but with this, Shana is my first dollfie (finished one, Silica had an earlier start) and i guess i can be happy that it was my fave character who became my first finished ^^

 

 

in summer i'm going to hunt for good outdoors photo spots for my DDs ^^
