KOD Posted December 2, 2013 A very good anime that I watched recently was "Space battleship Yamato" which was made in the 80's though has been competently remade and if I'm not mistaken has just been completely released. A very good Sci-fi anime. "Berserk: Golden Age Arc" has been released in the form of three anime films. It is technically in the genre "Action, Horror & Dark fantasy" though I would say it is very violent and what not, though so is Higorashi if I'm not mistaken. Berserk is by far my favorite manga and the films are done rather well. "SteinsGate" & "Deadman Wonderland" are also very good If you haven't seen them. Soenatte Posted December 2, 2013 "SteinsGate" & "Deadman Wonderland" are also very good If you haven't seen them. Steins Gate is a genius piece of writing period. I think everyone should watch it and potentially play the games if they can. As for DW... I'm a huge fan of the manga and have been reading it for a long while before the anime came out. Honestly the anime is terrible as compared to the manga. It's toned down so far it could as well as be a kid's anime, the characters were massacred in the transition to the screen and.. well I don't know =/;;; I finally got over myself and went back to finish Devil Survivor 2, as per usual with me I had finished the game a long time before the anime came out and was extremely disappointed with the direction the anime headed on episode 3 (and before, with the exclusion of one of my favorite game characters) so I dropped it. Admittedly, the bad they've been doing hasn't been rectified yet up to the point I'm at but I haven't reached a final verdict yet. After this I'm watching Hataraku Maou-sama since I've had this in my watch list forever and haven't touched it yet. Milkbiscuit Posted December 4, 2013 Hahah I think anime/manga is just amazing in how they can make anything action packed, like baking bread. Yakitate Japan will always be one of my favourite series. As for what I'm planning ln watching soon, that'd be Kyoukai no Kanata and Persona 3 and 4. chailatte Posted December 4, 2013 After this I'm watching Hataraku Maou-sama since I've had this in my watch list forever and haven't touched it yet. I hope you love it as much as I did! It's one of the funniest anime I've seen in a long time, I wasn't expecting it to be so good. More recently I've watched Tamako Market, Genshiken 2nd Season, Chihayafuru, Love Live (because, idols) & Gachaman Crowds. If I end up with a larger bust for my girl & somehow aquire a MDD there is a 100% chance of Hajime & Utsutsu cosplay. But to be totally honest, right now I'm kind of on a Kamen Rider binge. Ha ha, I totally agree with you there! I'm always amazed at the absurd topics some anime cover and make interesting! Yakitate was one of those shows I really had NO plans to watch until a buddy told me I HAD to. And once I started, I couldn't stop! So much fun and so crazy at times. And it always made me hungry when I watched it. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.

Milkbiscuit Posted December 5, 2013 Hands of the sun!!! Anime can make ANYTHING legendary. the Goddess hands always crack me up when I see them wiggling around lol And it always made me hungry when I watched it. Billy It made me crave melon bread so much. Finding a bakery that sold melon bread became an obsession of mine as a teen. And the manga didn't really help with all those home recipes! One day, Imma try baking bread in a rice cooker Home: Melty, Aoko, Saber A2, MOMO, KOS-MOS, Nanami, Yaya, Yuu-Nii, Kei & Kuu (3x DDH07), Asuna, Rise, Miki, Sakura S, Youmu, Miku
Soenatte Posted December 5, 2013 I don't think it's possible to watch Yakitate Japan without getting hungry... I always craved bread afterwards... thank god I know how to bake myself some... And I really want to try that bread in the rice cooker as well, but I need a rice cooker first. Yakitate Japan will always be one of my favourite series. As for what I'm planning ln watching soon, that'd be Kyoukai no Kanata and Persona 3 and 4. I love Yakitate Japan! Not only fun and entertaining but it's super educational too. lol I remember reading Death Note manga and they announced an anime for it. I was skeptical how'd they would convert it to anime since it's mostly all dialogue but it turned out very nicely! I'm currently watching Fate Zero. Reason I'm now just watching it because I didn't like Fate Stay Night with Shiro and his harem. I'm now catching up on my backlog of animes and decided to give Fate Zero a chance. It's soooooooooooooooooooo much better than FSN. Fate Zero has a much more serious tone. It's darker than FSN too. Jumps right into the plot. Plus has an amazing OP1 song by LiSA. Icing on the cake. baldylox Posted December 15, 2013 I just finished a show called "Ristorante Paradiso" and it was quite entertaining. It's about a girl who goes to Rome to confront her mother about abandoning her but soon finds herself working at a restaurant where all the staff is older males who wear glasses. It's a very odd show at first but the characters are neat and easy to like. The overall story isn't anything crazy and I like the fact it's a down to earth type show. It's slow paced so that might not be for everyone either. But I liked it overall and would tell friends to at least give it a try. Not only fun and entertaining but it's super educational too. lol That is my favorite food-related anime ever! Made me hungry as heck afterwards and I always ended up either baking something or going to the bakery to find some bread. Used to watch it with my youngest brother and I remember him telling me all about episodes that I missed. Fun times those. I also recommend watching persona 4. Love the characters. As for what I'm into right now, I'm currently addicted to One Piece. Gah! but some of those episodes made me cry. We have our own BLOG. YuukiNico Posted December 16, 2013 Hi minna, at the moment, I look at K-On, and I love this anime, particularly the character Yui: 3 Their music is too awesome and one of my favorite character is Azusa (Azu-nyan) *^* And I watch to Love Ru for the third time
baldylox Posted December 17, 2013 I watched the entire series "Rocket Girls" on Sunday and it was a really fun show. It had cute characters and some really neat situations in it. Now I'm watching "Papa no Iukoto wo Kikinasai!" or "Listen to me girls! I'm your Father!". It starts out as an adorable show then hits you right in the gut with some serious drama. The characters are perfect and there are plenty of funny bits as well as trials and tribulations for the main cast. I'm halfway thru it now and I'm enjoying it a lot. It's similar in story to "Usagi Drop" but it does things a little differently in it's setup. If you liked "Usagi Drop", you'll like this show too. Just exactly the right blend of comedy and drama. Not so serious as to be depressing, but serious enough that I really cared about the characters and their situation. And don't be put off by all the people who wrote this show off as twelve episodes of lolicon fanservice. Sure there are elements that COULD be taken that way, but honestly, only if that's what you're looking for. My current anime obsession is Arpeggio of Blue Steel. Human drama, action, cute girls, and naval combat with lots of explosions! My only problem with this is, due to some similarities, mostly having to do with some very similar special effects and some similar thematic elements, it's hard for me not to want to put this into the Strike Witches universe, and constantly wonder why everyone is wearing pants. baldylox Posted December 25, 2013 The past few days I've been rewatching the first "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex" series. I saw this when it was first out on Cartoon Network years ago and loved it, mainly because I loved the movie version too. I bought the series on DVD when it was first released and I've seen it probably 3 or 4 times now. But the last time I watched it was almost 2 years ago so I'd kind of forgotten most of the details of it. So I was looking for something to watch and decided to rewatch this show. It's aged really well too. All the characters still rock and the crazy action and backroom drama are still well played. It's a fun show and I'm glad I saw it again. Now I'm rewatching the TV series "Ninja Scroll".... nowhere near as cool as the original movie but still interesting. After that show, I'll hit up "GITS:SAC Second Gig" to finish that off. Guest Posted January 3, 2014 I just finished watching FLCL; it was pretty weird (or should I say unique?), but still very good. Currently watching Katanagatari though, since I just got the complete series.
baldylox Posted January 3, 2014 I just finished watching FLCL; it was pretty weird (or should I say unique?), but still very good. Currently watching Katanagatari though, since I just got the complete series. Heh, the first time I saw FLCL I was completely lost but I enjoyed the crazy atmosphere and characters quite a lot. And after I rewatched it a few more times..... and I was still kinda lost. As for Katanagatari, I seriously loved that show! The different art style it used was odd to me at first but quickly grew on me. And the action and story really were impressive. I just really wish it had ended a little differently. Damn the Japanese for loving the type ending it had. It was still well done tho and I'd quickly refer it to anyone looking for a fun anime with a good story. ArcticKitsune Posted January 7, 2014 I enjoyed Arpeggio a hell of a lot, finishing it on the day the last episode aired. I wish it was taken better care of with loads of wasted potential. It would have been awesome if it went all out, even having fun showing new Fog/Mist girls from the American side instead of *spoilers* at the end. That made me curse out too much . My favorite anime, just a horribly rushed ending. I don't mind if it took a different route from the manga...I'll just read that later. That music, if short, is overly awesome. Nicely supported in music and in KanColle game. I ended up watching Gundam Build Striker ep 13 today with me given a big confusing moment. I wasn't sure what I was watching once a rigged baseball game was introduced into the Gunpla battling mix. Gunpla doing Angelic Layer and Busou Shinki things....That baseball moment in that episode was supposed to be in the Busou Shinki Anime (which I also like and ignore anybody who hates it or puts it down) due to the randomness. Next episode is getting a silly racing mode which shall also make me facepalm while comparing it to Busou Shinki. I feel like Bandai is having too much fun joking around, jabbing Konami JP for failing to grasp the full potential of the Busou Shinki line with all those jokes and jabs, while showing people how it actually is done. Busou Shinki has a full human-like AI, though they move like humans needing a recharge. A better concept spun for a more younger crowd, though still highly enjoyable for the older crowd knowing all the references. Bandai, you should openly tell off Konami JP so they can make more Busou Shinkis! Lastly, Nobunaga The Fool is highly interesting. Not sure where it will go, though that may be obvious, but shall be fun seeing it go in its own path. It reminds me of the "Horizon" anime about recreating history in the future to follow their ancestors into space or something. Also getting Oda Nobuna anime vibes from the setting & comedy vibes. Merge those two and you get that....Even more Gundam references in that show. Finished off some Anime from past season while waiting for more. Need to finish off some more as well. Also waiting for Anime to continue from the festivities. The proud master of a foxy (DD) Varakitsu, Renge, & Caster; Kon!~ Kon!
