(One of which involves my MDD I am really looking forward to Sailor Moon Cosmos hitting Netflix in August, and also worth mentioning is that I apparently finished Yamishibai?? The new season I just started is actually just live-action reenactments of the first seasons' stories? Which sounds fun, but i haven't actually watched any yet. Cardcaptor is great but I can't remember if I ever finished it. The other Clamp titles (Chobits and especially Angelic Layer) were better imho. It was a long time ago I watched them all though. I haven't watched My Hero Academia but they've had various tie-ups with Fortnite and I bought the Himiko Toga skin for my character. It's a fabulous skin and the other players seem to like it too. We're still watching Hyouka. 1 My Dollfie doll family 😊.
Xiongmao Posted July 5 Oshi No Ko is back. The S02E01 was strong on technicals but not especially exciting plot-wise 🥱. Several dolls nodded off during this. I wish Volks would make new characters instead of the constant re-releases. Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian is one they should definitely do. This new anime is getting rave reviews. I didn't think it was quite as good as the hype, but it's still one of this year's best new animes. Alya could be quite similar to the Idolmaster Anastasia. I don't know how popular she was. No dolls slept during this, especially during that sock scene 😁. My Wife Has No Emotion could have been the new Chobits, but I'm not sure if I liked this one or not. The season 1 finale of One Room, Good Light, Angel Included was fanastic. I just love this light comedy/slice of life show, not least because the main character is called Towa. We completed Hyouka in a marathon session. It's another KyoAni great. To honour Pureneemo Kirino Kosaka's arrival we've started watching OreImo. This might not be everybody's cup of 🍵 but I thought the first episode was tremendous. I'm so glad I got Kirino - she's such a fun character. My Dollfie doll family 😊. Xiongmao Posted July 26 Finally we're watching School Days, after some issues with the subtitles (there's so much going on, it has to be played on a PC). It feels a little Clannad-like, and I think there will be tears from the dolls at some point. This was one of the big releases when I was in Tokyo. I remember seeing giant posters for it, and I also picked up an art book at the time. That was a golden age of anime. Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian is now the anime of the Summer season for me. A nice little easter egg is that the ED's are all different and the 4th episode one is very special indeed. Hopefully Volks will make an Alya-san doll instead of endless reboots. I don't know what to say about Plus Size Elf. It's definitely not for everybody. It could be a good cosplay idea if anyone has the curvier SmD (not sure which body this is). I really like the main character's voice, and the golems in the convenience store are hilarious. I'm not a huge fan of the art style, but Komi Can't Communicate really struck a cord with me. It is (or was) on Netflix. Our love/hate relationship with Spice & Wolf continues. It's kind of like the relationship between the two main characters. My Dollfie doll family 😊.
MrsHaitani Posted August 9 I started watching Rozen Maiden for the first time recently! I finished all of the original series and I’m honestly really surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I was NOT expecting to get as invested as I did. It had me tearing up a few times ngl. 😭 Hinaichigo ilysm… It’s really got me interested in watching more doll related anime though, so if anyone has any recs I’d love to check them out!

Angelic Layer has battle dolls!!!! As to what else we're watching... Orimo is really sweet and it's interesting to see how anime progressed from 2007/8 shows like Clannad and School Days. School days is an underrated gem and a good watch if your dolls like edgy stuff. Wednesday is Oshi No Ko nite in our house. It's gone off in quite a different direction from the first season, but that OP and ED... they are epic. I think it's my show of the summer season, except of course for Plus Size Elf 🍟🍟🍟. 1 My Dollfie doll family 😊.
ButterBiscuits Posted August 10 I started watching Blue Lock not that long ago! I started watching it so I could go see the movie with my friend so she wouldn't have to go alone. Although I still need to finish it since I only had half a day to binge as much as I could before the movie. We, uh, sorta decided to go the very last day it was showing as a very last minute decision lol. Another anime on my watchlist is Card Captor Sakura! I started watching it back when I was still in school and it really hit me in a good way. So whenever I was down, I would watch it to make myself feel better. Now I have a need to rewatch it and actually get past season one. 💖
RyuichiSakuma13 Posted August 27 Card Captor Sakura is my "guilty pleasure" from way back when it was badly edited for American TV. I suppose it is my version of how many people reacted to Sailor Moon, as in they loved it, male or female. I would actually love to have a Sakura doll (or a doll that cosplays as Sakura) someday. amiamitchi Posted August 28 i've always been bad at keeping up with shows but lately i've been watching these~ new: monogatari off and monster series (i feel like every girl from the series would make a great dollfie) old: aria and eureka seven! movie: millennium actress was incredible!!! i need to watch chainsaw man eventually so my friends can stop hounding me 😅

Oh, I meant a BJD or Dollfie Sakura! I've seen Sakura made into both, and she was So. Freakin' Cute! I may actually have a "regular" doll ☝️of Sakura in the cat outfit in the basement, I'm hoping I didn't lose it in my move from one state to another a few years ago. If I ever did end up with the room to create her, (we're working on making more space,) chances are, I'd have a resin version of her. That is, unless Volks creates a CC Sakura version, then my credit card would continue to hate me. Ryu Edited August 29 by RyuichiSakuma13
Giallo_Gatta Posted August 29 Sailor Moon Cosmos is out.... but I'm currently moving, so I haven't been able to watch it, yet. First anime in the new house, perhaps?
MrsHaitani Posted September 16 So uh… I’ve been going through a bit of a Fullmetal Alchemist phase this past month. I binged the original all the way through for the first time, and now I’m currently watching Brotherhood (which I’ve almost finished!). I’m not gonna lie… I might’ve unlocked a new obsession with a certain character, and now I kinda want to commission a doll of him bc he has like no merch. Someone stop me before I spend 1k+ on another custom doll before Ran is even done. 😭

There is someone on DOA that went all out to make a custom Ed, even making him the automail arm and leg. I don't know what they used to make them. I've seen other FMA BJDs over the years as well, but that one I think is the cutest I've seen so far. I should get back to watching anime, its been a while. Its a choice between Zombie Land Saga and My New Boss is Goofy. Decisions, decisions. Ryu Edited September 16 by RyuichiSakuma13

That sounds amazing, omg. 🥺 I haven’t really looked into FMA dolls or whether or not anyone has made any, but I can imagine how cool/cute they’d be hehe. I should really look into it bc I love seeing dolls of characters from anime I’m into. Believe it or not, the character I’m debating on getting done is actually Kimblee. 😭 I have the biggest crush on him rn—

I understand now why it’s one of the top rated anime of all time. I’ve watched a LOT of different series in my life, but I don’t think I’ve ever experienced anything quite like that. By far one of the best anime I’ve ever seen in a long time. I think I’ve got my heart set on getting a custom doll now too much to my wallet’s dismay. So it looks like I’m going to be commissioning my artist again as soon as I finish the down payment on Ran— I was not immune to Kimblee.
Xiongmao Posted September 26 After 100 years, we finally finished Sword Art Online. Meh. Fall 2024's best anime has turned out to be Oshi No Ko. It just feels so grown up and hasn't lost the ability to shock and awe. Runner up is the slow and haunting Gimai Seikatsu. This one's flown under the radar but it's very relaxing to watch and has a beautiful soundtrack. We've also watched everything available for Konosuba. God bless Aqua. I was going to recommend this show to my nephews and then I found the succubus episode 😲. Let's hope Volks make a Darkness DDdy soon. Komi Can't Communicate is also fabulous. I was a lot like her in school. ED of the year goes to either Oshi or the Konosuba Megumin spinoff. Alya-san also has some good ED (each one is different). I think an Alya-san DD would be quite likely. My Dollfie doll family 😊.

I think an Alya-san DD would be quite likely. Because of your review, u/Xiongmao, I started watching Oshi No Ko. I finished the first episode, and it's pretty dark, and with adult themes. Definitely a good watch so far, very different than many of the other anime I've watched recently. I hope the rest of the series is as good as that first episode. I'm trying yet again to watch Code Geass, which I've had to drop a couple of times due to losing my (at the time) cable access. Yes, its an older anime, but being a CLAMP fanboy, I can't help but not only enjoy the animation, but the complex storyline. I'm also watching Blue Exorcist, My New Boss is Goofy, Assassination Classroom, Dr. Stone, Zombie Land Saga, Hunter × Hunter, Attack on Titan, and of course One Piece. Yes, I know, that is a long list, but my live action list is even longer. I'm at the point where I bounce around and watch stuff, depending on my mood. PlasticJester Posted October 5 I watched the first episode of Oshi no Ko and really enjoyed it! Besides that, I've been watching Rozen Maiden, a huge nostalgia point in my childhood. I'm hoping to watch both the original, Traumend, and the 2013 version!
Xiongmao Posted October 5 Glad you both liked Oshi. I like how it's refreshingly different to most other anime. Season 2 went extremely into a different direction I didn't expect. It's the finale tomorrow night 😵. The OP and ED for season 2 are epic. I'm getting terrible Konosuba withdrawl symptoms. It's almost a certainty they'll churn out many more seasons. Frieren season 2 has been announced. I don't know when it will land, but it's being made by the same studio that worked miracles with season 1. We're also watching Girls und Panzer... it's a really awesome show. The little details are brilliant - they even have a coffee shop that serves tank shaped meals. My Dollfie doll family 😊. Code Geass is really great, I agree. I have been really impressed with Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction this year, I loved it so much more than I thought I would. I enjoyed Kaiju No 8 too, which was a bit surprising because I don't normally like shonen; the character profiles really drew me in, I felt like it deviated away from quite a few clichés and norms. Also, I LOVED Tonari no Yokai-san but I'm a sucker for mythology and folklore. It was a pretty charming, cozy show despite being a drama. I've been thinking about re-watching two of my favorite shows recently: Natsume Yuujinchou and Mushishi. Maybe its the start of autumn that's made me think of them because I associate both to this season, despite Natsume's name meaning hehe~ (*´▽`*)
Bramble Posted October 9 I'm also a Code Geass enjoyer! I had the pleasure of showing it to my partner earlier this year, I'm glad it was just as awesome the second time around. Not everything I liked back in 2006 holds up today... but that doesn't stop me from enjoying it (´・ω・`) I'm going to have to think on what my all-time favorites are, but I love anything animated/directed by Masaaki Yuasa, Kaiba being my personal favorite from his body of work. Let's see... I've been slowly working my way through every Gundam series, in fact I finished watching Gundam 00 last week. I have only been exposed to UC timeline series prior to this, so the lore being totally different in 00 is a bit weird. The robots are cool and there's plenty of angsty young men so I can't complain. I've also been watching some Lucky Star as a palate cleanser between the heavier shows. After that, I got baited into watching two seasons Tokyo Revengers because thumbnail had a character with a cool design, but it turns out the streaming site I was watching it on doesn't even have the season that guy is in...! I guess I have to find the third somewhere else. Natsume Yuujinchou and Mushishi are both series I enjoyed a lot from what I saw, but never reached the end of. I should fix that! I also see many other beloved series mentioned on this page but I fear my post is already running long so I just wanted to say I was obsessed with Monster when I saw it the first time, and I think I need to read or watch it again soon... I’ve actually posted a lot about TR here bc one of the dolls I’m waiting on is of a character from it. 🥺 It’s probably my second favorite anime atp. I’m actually curious which character you’re talking about. 👀 Also if by season 3 you mean the Tenjiku arc, you can find it on Hulu! I think it might also be on Disney+ but I’m not 100% sure if it was only season 2 on there.

I think the guy's name is Izana Kurokawa, I saw him on the thumbnail alongside Mikey. I'm also curious which character your doll will be! :3
