I think the guy's name is Izana Kurokawa, I saw him on the thumbnail alongside Mikey. I'm also curious which character your doll will be! :3 Ahh yeah the third season wasn’t dubbed. Definitely disappointing bc I’m also a dub watcher who has a hard time with subs, but I managed to get through the sub without too much trouble and it ended up being my favorite season! The doll I’m getting is going to be of Ran Haitani! My profile kinda gives it away, but I love him a lot. 🥺💜
Xiongmao Posted October 11 Make Heroine ga Oosugiru! isn't bad. It's one of this season's better efforts. It's a Light Novel that dolls always enjoy watching. Uzumaki is amazing. There's only 3 episodes (the finale's this sunday). If you want an anime for Halloween then this is it. I don't know if this is the first time the iconic horror story has been turned into an anime. Some people think the animation sucks, but I just enjoyed the story. I need more suggestions for horror themed anime. Oshi did not disappoint. There's a catchy new music video on YouTube. I won't post it here because of the huge (but not immediately obvious) spoiler in it. My Dollfie doll family 😊.

Bad_Luck Posted October 20 On 10/17/2024 at 5:47 AM, ZodiacMoon said: Just finished watching... SK8: The Infinity: Liked it a lot and excited for the upcoming OVA / 2nd season I adore Sk8! A friend and I went to a con awhile back as Cherry and Joe and spent quite a bit of time bantering in character XD. I, too, am impatiently waiting for more! I've been watching the Ranma 1/2 reboot. I don't dislike it, but so far it's pretty much shot-for-shot the same as the original, which begs the question: was it necessary? I feel like a remake should bring something new or offer fresh perspective to a franchise; otherwise, what's the point of remaking it? Sure, the animation is more polished, but the old-style animation is what gives the original its charm. It's especially odd considering the original series is readily available on Hulu. It' not as though the original media has been lost to time or is inaccessible. I know we're only a few episodes in, so maybe the new series will come into its own eventually. Right now, I'm still interested enough to keep watching.
Xiongmao Posted October 26 I love Oshi so much. Volks just have to make a Kana Arima character. I found more Girls und Panzer to watch. It's a fun show with some really great OVA's. Mushoku Tensei season 2 is pretty good. They're not afraid to ditch established characters and introduce good new ones. Frieren volume 11 landed this week and I'm so glad it wasn't stolen from my doorstep. I guess the anime will land in October 2025. Uzumaki kind of flopped. They must have blown the budget on episode 1. It was a nice idea and I'm currently reading the manga. My Dollfie doll family 😊.
PlasticJester Posted October 26 From what I understand (haven't seen it yet), Uzumaki changed studios due to the production costs after episode 1. But I mean, you get what you pay for. Got my gf into Rozen Maiden and now she understands my intense love for it, especially for Suigintou! I actually got a NIB Suigintou Pullip recently, my original Suigintou has long since been customized but was my first thing resembling a BJD as a kid! I actually want to source some anime recommendations from you guys. I need to watch more Oshi no Ko, ofc, but I need more anime to watch in general. Doesn't have to be new! I just like character-driven stories and nothing too standard shounen-y.

Mushoku Tensei has some great characters. There are cat people and somebody in season 2 is very intriguing. I can't say I entirely like the direction the season has gone in, but it does have a pretty good ongoing story arc. I think Girls und Panzer is the most likeable anime I've ever watched. They're just so friendly and cooperative with each other. It also has some great historical music and facts. I don't know if Make Heroine ga Oosugiru! really has a plot but there is some terrific voice acting. We need to get back into Solo Leveling. That looked like it has potential. Gimai Seikatsu was great and hopefully it will get a season 2. My Dollfie doll family 😊.

cheerycherry Posted Monday at 08:29 PM Right now I'm watching Dandadan! Bit of a spoiler below for further in the manga: Spoiler The main girl Momo gets shrunk down by magic forces in a later chapter. The other main girl Aira dresses her up in doll clothes, it's pretty obvious the artists used 1/6 or 1/12 doll clothes as reference, some of the drawings in chapter 168 look pretty close to my Picco Neemo/Licca clothes. I got excited to see doll stuff in a shounen manga lol.

kudoku Posted Tuesday at 07:49 AM So I've been in a bit of an anime slump. I tried watching demon slayer on a friends recommendation, and despite dealing with heavy topics at times, the comic relief and weak character growth ruin it for me. I can't shake the feeling that I am watching a marvel movie, where everyone has to be constantly saying funny quips and unable to take anything seriously for more than 5 minutes. Can someone please recommend me some anime where the main cast drives the plot forward in a mature and engaging manner? I know that's a bit vague, but I’m looking for anything from straightforward series like frieren, mushoku tensei, vinland saga to even "silly" titles like dungeon meshi. Even shows people have mentioned earlier in the thread like konosuba or girls und panzer work since they excel in their respective genres. Dandadan gives me too much tonal whiplash and not enough plot. I might check out baccano and oshi no ko. Thanks in advance.
Kanime Posted Tuesday at 03:33 PM It's been a couple months since Shadowverse Flame anime ended its run, but I still miss it so much I keep rewatching some choice episodes of it (+OG SV) over and over😭 It's been a while since I fell HARD for a series I got mega brainrot so hard I ended up participating on a doujin event as a circle, but getting super nice messages from fellow fans who happened to visit our table is an experience I didn't know I missed. So, uh, I'm glad I took the plunge and watch SV. Love everything about it including its glaring flaws. I watched so many Hobby Anime (my fav genre LOL) but I think I'll never find one quite like this, sadge... Other than that, I've been sporadically watching some of this season's new series. Magilumiere Co. Ltd. is pretty fun. A work colleague rec'd Dandadan so I think I'm gonna try watching it next? Also, I've been on nostalgia train so I got my GF who never watched Yugioh to see them (5D's→DM→currently on GX) together. I consider this a huge win😎 --- 6 hours ago, kudoku said: Can someone please recommend me some anime where the main cast drives the plot forward in a mature and engaging manner? I'm probably the last person that should be giving plot-driven anime recs but I love Uchuu Kyoudai! The art style might not be to your taste, but it works for the genre and I ended up liking every single character there. I don't think the anime covers everything from the manga though (it's still running; I recommend it too!), but it's a pretty faithful adaptation IMO. It's got about 99 episodes though ahaha... For standard 1-2 cours, off the top of my head: Blue Period (a bit heavy on the drama though), Lycoris Recoil (takes a while before the plot threads show but great action and the two mains are 🥺), and The Great Pretender. Seconding the Baccano rec as well! If you don't mind yuri I also think Tenten Kakumei/Magirevo is pretty solid, though the political theme is kind of surface-level. Cheese 🧀 warning but I love cheese personally sooo
Xiongmao Posted Tuesday at 05:22 PM Finished Too Many Losing Heroines. I'm not sure if anything happened but Chika Komari is now one of my most favourite characters ever. Hopefully licensed doll makers have taken note and will release some characters from this great show. We're now watching Re:Zero season 2. It has some great characters but Musuku Tensei S2 had a much better storyline. I think getting back into Solo Leveling might be the next one. It had potential. We're still looking for the next Attack on Titan or Frieren. My Dollfie doll family 😊.

Very plot driven despite the characters looking like animals. I am pretty picky with my anime and picked this one up as a lark and it has stuck with me. Only 13 episodes so not a big time sink either.
kudoku Posted Tuesday at 09:28 PM 5 hours ago, Kanime said: Uchuu Kyoudai! ... Blue Period ... Tenten Kakumei/Magirevo... Oh wow I haven't even heard of the first 2. I do enjoy a good coming of age drama, so I'll probably try out Blue Period first. As for Magirevo, I don't mind yuri but I find the general lack of conflict in the genre boring. Romance needs to be fought over damn it! 😄 But it sounds like it spices things up a bit with the romeo juliet and political intrigue plotlines. 1 hour ago, Giragira said: "Odd Taxi"... Giragira Posted yesterday at 12:10 AM 2 hours ago, kudoku said: I enjoyed this one a lot! It had an enticing hook and the ending tied it altogether. Oh excellent! I loved it too, I'll reccomend some other anime then since you've already seen that one. I like more serious/odd/artsy anime so your mileage my vary on if these are good. Most of these are older so you might have to get creative finding them. Erased: mystery with an interesting premise and fleshed out characters. What if you could go back in time with the knowledge you have now to change the past as a child. Big O: this was a surprise, I'm not big into mecha anime but is a treat. It starts with a pretty simple monster of the week plot but slowly starts going off the rails. Also I really love the art style. Monster: Mystery thriller. Set after WW2 a doctor saves a young boy's life to the detriment of his career. Years later their paths cross again and our lead character has to reckon with his actions. Angel's Egg: Gothic art film...but anime. This is probably a hit or a miss depending on your taste. Not a lot of dialogue or clear plot, but the vibes rule and so does the art. A young girl lives in a seemingly empty city and cares for an egg, until a visitor arrives. Habene Renmei: A slow-paced but never boring character study of several girls who live in a low fantasy town and try to atone for unknown "sins". Isn't afraid to deal with darker topics with a hopeful but melancholic tone. Mononoke: Not to be confused with Princess Mononoke this is different. It's a stylish anime that follows a mysterious medicine peddler who deals with spirits that cross his path. It's beautiful to watch and an anime you can pretty much start anywhere. If you like this one try "Mushi-shi", similar stories. I'll cut this here since I don't wanna flood the chat but I hope any of these bring you joy!
