Lulu Posted May 18, 2012 Clannad After story has a happy ending? Really? I had to stop watching it when it was airing because it made me cry so much and I couldn't stand waiting to know what would happen the next week. I've never attempts to watch it since. It does! which as you likely know, when you are watching it and your crying more than once per episode is just an amazing ending. I'd recommend watching it to the end if you can but honestly I was depressed for days until I saw that ending. Now I'm watching through Magical...lyrical Nanoha and I finished Madoka a few days ago. Does anyone know if the rumor for the 2nd series of Madoka is true?
Tieren Posted May 19, 2012 I was disappointed that they made it happy in the end because I don't think I've ever been as sad as I was watching some eps of the 2nd season of Clannad. I kept imagining how sad I would be if I were in the main character's position. And some of the episodes were just as sad when I watched them a 2nd time. Madoka is almost like a different series the 2nd time you watch it since you understand why characters act in certain ways.
DJStarstryker Posted May 19, 2012 Now watching Asobi ni Ikuyo (aka "Cat Planet Cuties"). I normally find fanservice type anime mediocre, but this one is pretty hilarious to me. I think it helps that it has a lot of science fiction in-jokes, plus it has a spy action movie sort of feeling sometimes. Yay for free Crunchyroll trials. PrettyCranium Posted June 4, 2012 Just started marathoning "Revolutionary Girl Utena," which I had never watched before. If Volks ever releases Utena and Anthy DDs I'm pretty much just going to throw my wallet at them. I'm one- third of the way through, and while the show does look dated, I'm loving the classic anime. baldylox Posted June 4, 2012 I *finally* got to watch "Arietty" on Bluray yesterday and I must say it was excellent. Studio Ghibli hits it out of the park once again with it. Great short story, awesome backgrounds and details and the music was perfect. Surround was also cool due to effects, especially in outdoor scenes.... my silly cats kept checking around when all the cricket noises came on. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.
kymaera Posted June 4, 2012 I finished Madoka a week or so ago. Really good series...kept me guessing for the most part. Watched the first half of Mysterious Girlfriend X..caught up to what Crunchyroll has released. Started on Familiar of Zero F. I'd watched the first season, but missed the second, so missed some additions to the harem.
Ravendruid Posted June 5, 2012 I'm on around episode 6 of Madoka Magika, and all I can say is WOW. Very much not what I would have expected, but in a very good way. Daddy of: Yuriko, Sohi, Miku and SK's many kids

DJStarstryker Posted June 16, 2012 Currently going though Gosick and loving every minute of it. Madoka's on the to watch list but I still gotta get through all 76 eps of Monster Yay, Gosick! I'm disappointed that Bandai USA went under before releasing that in the US on DVD. I would've totally bought it. Also, Monster is awesome. You should definitely watch the entire thing. Anyway, for me, I got some anime BluRays in the mail the other day. Hopefully I can watch them soon. I got the first US set of K-On season 2 (first 13 episodes) and the US release of Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works movie. PrettyCranium Posted June 16, 2012 Finished Utena (loved the show, thought the movie was very strange -- I hate reboots!). Now started Black Butler. Enjoying this one, too.
still_doll+vk Posted June 17, 2012 finished watching shugo chara and shugo chara doki. DJStarstryker Posted June 18, 2012 Finished Utena (loved the show, thought the movie was very strange -- I hate reboots!). Best thing about the Utena movie is the soundtrack. Of course, it has pretty animation too, so if that's your cup of tea... I used to own that movie on DVD but sold it because I never watched it after the first time or two. I didn't care for it. But I listen to the CD much more often. Anyway, I did watch Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works this weekend. For those who are a fan of the Fate/ series, I recommend it. The first half or so is sort of recap-ish of the main events of the Fate/Stay Night TV series. But after that it's quite different since it's using the events of Rin's path from the PC game. For those who don't know, the Fate/Stay Night TV series uses Saber's path for the most part. This basically means that the movie ends quite differently than the TV series. Also, the animation is super gorgeous. Even the "recap" sections look better than the original show. For instance, the first fight of Saber vs Berserker that used to happen in the street. It now happens in this graveyard and the way they animated it, it's quite epic. Are you ready to rock? ^_^

As soon as I finish up "Guilty Crown", I'll make sure to watch Blade Works. I've only seen the first anime series so I have no clues about any of the other scenarios from the games. It will be nice to see something a bit different. As for me, I'm halfway thru "Guilty Crown" and need to finish it up. I'm also watching the new shows "Casshern Sins" and "Deadmans Wonderland" on Cartoon Networks reboot of Toonami. DW is a really great show and I'm excited to see new eps. Casshern is a bit too weird and depressing for me tho and the art style is really different from most anime. I'm not sure I'll keep watching it or not. And while not technically anime, Disney XD's "Tron:Uprising" has been a really great show to watch. It has awesome visuals, a good story and some great music in it. I'm super happy they're doing this show and hope they keep it up. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.
OtakuDepot Posted June 18, 2012 I haven't been watching too much anime over the last year and thankfully that's started to change. Two shows I'm enjoying this season are: Acchi Kocchi http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=13844 This is a 'slice of life' comedy with a bit of romance in it, one of my favorite types of shows really. It's about a group of 5 high school friends. The main girl is Tsumiki is a very short cute blue haired girl (reminds me a bit of Konata from Lucky Star in some ways) and she has a huge crush on one of the boys. Great show if you want some laughs. Nazo no Kanojo X (English: Mysterious Girlfriend X) http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=13899 Slightly ecchi romantic high school comedy entered around the idea of sharing saliva to experience other people's emotions. Yes, that's right. It's very odd but the show is pretty funny and enjoyable, if you can get past all the spit. HAHA. It's pretty odd and they really focus on it a lot. People are swapping spit all over the place. DJStarstryker Posted June 19, 2012 Thanks for writing this up! I have this on my computer but have yet to watch it. As soon as I finish up "Guilty Crown", I'll make sure to watch Blade Works. I've only seen the first anime series so I have no clues about any of the other scenarios from the games. It will be nice to see something a bit different. I haven't played the game yet myself. I'd like to eventually. I have no idea if my computer will run it though. Not because it's not powerful enough, but more of the fact that it's too new. Some of my older PC games don't run on it because I have a 64-bit processor and the games were made for 32-bit processors. It's driving me crazy that I have yet to see Saber Alter or dark Sakura in any anime form. I want to know their story! Maybe gotta play the game for that. Are you ready to rock? ^_^
gaiaswill Posted June 19, 2012 The closest Saber Alter gets to an anime appearance is in the decidedly non-canon Carnival Phantasm, episode 8, in which she is hilarious. (As is the entire series.) (Who knew Gil was M?)
Gunter Posted June 24, 2012 The only thing I'm watching now is Jormungand, which will be done at the beginning of this week. So, I'll be going back to my "need to watch" list to fill in my time a little more. The question is if I want to start with Dusk Maiden (Though tempted to just go read the manga instead), or finally finish Another? At least I end this season with one series making me quite happy. Fate/Zero had a satisfying conclusion to it. I value a good ending far more than I think I should. @Gaiaswill Just cause you mentioned it I had the urge to go watch it (again). Ah, I quite enjoy that episode, and well, the entire series. xD (I think anyone would be when facing Saber Alter? ;P)
sofiel Posted June 25, 2012 I just finished watching Madoka :3 Now im watching Highschool DxD Brave10 Bodacious Space Pirates
DJStarstryker Posted June 25, 2012 Watched the first 4 episodes of K-On!! (K-On! season 2) last night. I love the first season, but this season has me laughing a lot more than I remember the first season doing for me. Also have to say, Listen is not as cool of an ending song as Don't Say Lazy.
