Orchid Posted February 6, 2013 I don't understand why Volks went with a DDS instead of an MDD for MOMO, however. The height of the MDD looks much more appropriate. Are they just afraid of releasing MDDs as limiteds for some reason? Dude, are you sure you don't want to make your Momo into an MDD? You sure talk a lot about it. ~Sister Kyoya Well, I'm planning to make a MDD with Momo's head^^ I already have the body =) Sweet ouftits! por _OrchidCat, en Flickr Let's see how it turns out, but I think she'll look super cute!! SisterKyoya Posted February 6, 2013 I think she will look super adorable as an MDD, especially in that outfit. I forgot that Raven would turn his into an MDD if he could shrink her outfit too. *forgot what thread she was posting in...* When my friend from my Japanese class discovered that I have an embarrassing addiction to anime guys with glasses she had me start watching Tales of the Abyss. I've seen two episodes so far and I find it interesting and different from most anime story lines that I normally watch. I'm just glad that Raven was the only person to hear me squeal like a 12 year old fangirl when Jade popped up in the intro... ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram

It has a main character male with glasses named Jean. I think he's probably my favorite male glasses character in anime. It's an older anime, from 1990, so I don't know if it's possible to find it streaming online. Can get the DVDs for a reasonable price as a box set though. Misheru Posted February 7, 2013 and to Billy - I just saw the latest episode of Love Live! and their new character, Nico, reminded me so much of Sprout that I was dying laughing. I've not heard of this show! Is it currently airing in Japan or what? Where is it available? I'd like to see a character that acts like my Sprout! Billy Yes, it is being aired right now in Japan and simulcast on Crunchyroll. I have a paid subscription and she just appeared (well, completely introduced) in this week's episode. You can see the show on Crunchyroll's free site but they run one week behind. It is about a school that is slated for closing and a group decide that if they form a 'school idol (singing) club' they might could save the day. It is a cute and fun show. She tries to act all tough & very bossy, but underneath it all...well, she is sort of a softie (I am betting ). I hope you get to see it soon. She is a fun character. I don't know exactly why, but the minute she came on...Sprout can in my head as clear as day and she is all I could think of. ~ ❥ Misheru...the *M* in H&M House of Vinyl ❥ ~ ℒℴѵℯ❤ ( ͒ ु•·̫• ू ͒) ˚₊✩‧ All your dolliehs are belong to us! ✩‧₊˚ ( ͒ ु•·̫• ू ͒)

baldylox Posted February 8, 2013 Misheru, thanks so much for the photos! She actually DOES look just like Sprout! She even has red eyes, dark hair and light skin! That's hilarious that she's an anime character now! I'll have to see about getting this show once it's done braodcasting, it will be cute to watch the show with Sprout. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.

Billy I had something similar happen. There is a little boy in A Bridge to the Starry Skies that looks like Tama-chan! Short little boy, with poofy grayish/dirty blond-ish hair, and even his face looks the same (sans clippie)! *Looks it up* The older brother's friend gets the little brother to dress up in a cheerleader outfit too. Misheru Posted February 8, 2013 I *knew* he reminded me of someone! Thank you for that...it has been driving me crazy. Bridge to the Starry Skies is one of my favorites but I usually focus on female characters. We have Hina Sakai, Madoka, Ui and Tsumugi in dolly form. Yay...he really does remind me of Tama now that you mention it. DJStarstryker Posted February 13, 2013 Watching Nyan Koi now. Saw somebody (maybe Billy?) mention watching this recently. Since this was in my big stack o' anime I bought recently and I finished Mysterious Cities of Gold, decided to start on this. I didn't know anything about it, just saw cover art of the DVD. I assumed it was a catgirl anime. So far, no catgirls other than the opening theme. Oh well. As a cat lover, I am highly enjoying this show. Comedy anime can sometimes be hit and miss, but this one amuses me so far. Are you ready to rock? ^_^

Desert Sailor Posted February 22, 2013 Right now I am watching some of the simulcasts on Crunchyroll. I plan on trying to work on my anime backlog by watching Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles and the Twelve Kingdoms. So much anime, so little time.
SchroedingersCat Posted February 22, 2013 Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles Words cannot express how much I LOVE Tsubasa. I'm a huge CLAMP fan, and have been for over a decade now, but Tsubasa is probably my favourite manga and anime of theirs. Get ready for a ride. Helps a lot if you've read and watched pretty much everything else made by CLAMP, but it's not necessary. Gunslinger Girl And here's another show that I highly recommend to people. A lot of anime focus over much on action sequences and fanservice. Gunslinger Girl is the complete antithesis of those shows. It's focuses on character development very heavily and gets you invested in the characters. Henrietta's battles become important to you because of how well developed she is. DJStarstryker Posted February 22, 2013 Next anime on my list to watch is Gankutsuou (The Count of Monte Cristo). Will probably start it this weekend. Anyone here seen it? Just curious what your non-spoiler opinions are. I don't normally watch this kind of anime, but wanted something different and the DVD set was cheap. Just curious what your non-spoiler opinions are. I don't normally watch this kind of anime, but wanted something different and the DVD set was cheap. DUDE! Gankutsuou is an EXCELLENT anime! I personally have watched it at least 4 times already. I used to shy away form it because of it's odd art style but when a good friend told me I needed to see it, I decided to buy it and try it out. And I am so glad I did! You probably know that it's based on a book but it takes many liberties with its settings and time periods. But these all add to the overall story and feel of the show. As for the art style, I was apprehensive at first but once I saw the first episode of it, I was hooked. The colors and patterns they use on characters hair and clothes and the backgrounds are just awesome. The way they move is almost surreal at times. And I know most people don't want to watch it dubbed but for this show, they did an excellent job and I love the dub. Give it a spin, you may really enjoy it. But since you're in Japan, you prolly can understand the Japanese track anyways. So yes, this is an amazing show and I loved it. I think you will too. We watched it all the way through and have a huge love/hate relationship with it. On the one hand, the story is awesome, most of the characters are great (especially Isaac). But man, the violence and gore levels are right at the very edge of my tolerance levels. There were so many times I right on the verge of saying "Ok, that's it, I can't watch this show anymore", but the story and characters just wouldn't let me quit until I was finished. I was the same way with Ikki Tousen, too, even though that one's not quite as bloody. Daddy of: Yuriko, Sohi, Miku and SK's many kids

I was the same way with Ikki Tousen, too, even though that one's not quite as bloody. Yeah Baccano was quite the bloody show. But most often it wasn't too over the top, at least in my opinion. But I can deal with way more blood and guts in anime than I can in a live action show. And Ikki Tousen had very little blood in it, it was mostly exploding clothing, boobs and pantsu. Yes, it was violent with all the fights going on but I don't recall it being particularly bloody. Maybe I was too distracted by Kanu and Ryomou.... Galvatim Posted February 22, 2013 Recently watched Bakemonogatari, Steins;Gate part 2, and Bodacious Space Pirates part 1! All three are pretty good! Bakemonogatari is a little on the expensive side for a Blu-ray set, but it really is a great show. And has Senjyogahara. Bodacious Space Pirates not just another silly fan service show, despite the title. Well, unless you're a fan of exciting space adventure, in which case, you will love this series! And of course Steins;Gate is always awesome. Next up for me is Ground Control to Psychoelectric Girl (Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko), and Nisemonogatari! I know how you feel, I ended up not finishing Baccano because of the violence I can deal with anime violence/gore better than live action stuff, but Baccano really was too much for me (and I've watched Evangelion multiple times!). I just watched the 1988 Gunbuster movie. I decided to watch it before I rewatch Gunbuster 2 so I wouldn't be missing any thing. It was better than expected! The ending really made me cry, I don't know why, it just really... My Etsy Shop ~~~ My DeviantArt

baldylox Posted February 23, 2013 I finished up "Dusk Maiden of Amnesia" today and loved it. The last two episodes about made me cry tho.... damn the Japanese and their love of all things sad! Ravendruid Posted February 25, 2013 Currently watching : Least favorite is The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya..... Most Favorite is School Rumble. School Rumble is one of my top 3 animes. It was the very first anime that I fell in love with. The only thing I dislike about it is the inconclusive ending. It is also the only anime for which I have read the entire manga, and as far as I am concerned, the manga's ending is also rather inconclusive (even though many people believe that it wraps things up perfectly.) It is also one of the two anime that I have watched all the way through in both the subtitled and English dubbed versions (the other being Chobits.) I have watched about 6 episodes of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. It's one I keep trying to come back to, but, while I really don't dislike it, there are just so many others out there that I like so much more. I just have a hard time caring enough about it to finish. I can't really relate much to any of the characters, and that's one of the biggest draws for me in any kind of story, whether animated, live-action, or written. On the other hand, The Pet Girl of Sakurasou is one I've been watching recently, the first anime that I've actually kept up with the simulcast. This is one of the very few in which I can strongly relate to and feel for all of the main characters. Even though there is a lot about it that is fairly cliche, and most of the plot is visible from quite a long way off, I still find myself looking forward to being able to see a new episode every Thursday morning. SisterKyoya Posted February 25, 2013 Watching Tiger and Bunny. I think those two just got added to my dollieh wishlist of male DDs that Volks should make. Tiger is so awesome Gah! Just hearing about Tiger made me have a mental nose bleed. I am utterly hopeless. I watched all of T&B and am totally bonkers over that show. My friend and I watched a couple of episodes of it this weekend and she wants to see more of it. I so want it on DVD so we can have the commercial free marathon. This is one anime I am so happy I've seen before it was dubbed. I can't imagine Tiger not sounding like Tiger. As for recent anime... spent MUCH of the weekend watching Digimon. I'm sure most would find it to be a lame kid's show, but with Meghan's commentary we were laughing for hours. I don't think I could watch it without her. *new unexpected favorite* ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram
