What Anime are you watching?

Just finished watching Death Note (such a clever anime!) and started watching Lucky Star- don't think I will finish it though. Continue to re-watch Ouran HC off and on

Has the frantic topic jumping and random asides of Lucky Star thrown you off a bit? It has been known to lose people that way. Azumanga Daioh is similar in that respect too.

I skipped "Sacred Blacksmith" and decided to watch the second season of "Saki". After that was done, I started with "A Certain Scientific Railgun". As a fan of the Index anime, this one is really great, even better than the first in my opinion. The characters are very cool, the scenarios they get into are fun and the dynamic between Railgun and her roommate are hilarious. I smile every time I hear "Oneeee-sama!" due to the fact I know someone is either getting glomped or smacked in the head. LOL

Just finished "Say I Love You" and am waiting for more episodes of My Little Monster and Pet Girl of Sakura Hall. That is one of my favorites.

I got through Total Eclipse, but it was a bit much for me. I am not into that much action.

I also watched Kimi no Todoke - hope I got that right. It was slow, but really good.

Watch Battle Girls/Time Paradox at this very minute. So funny.

I just finished "Bunny Drop." It was excellent, and refreshing to watch an anime that is not about high school kids. Unfortunatley, I had heard how the manga ends (controversial), but the anime only covers half the manga.

I loved Usagi Drop. It's one of the more beautiful anime I've seen in years, and it has so much heart. I've heard about the ending too, but... it doesn't take away from the part of the story that we've seen.

From the series that are screening at the moment, Maoyu looks very interesting and I'll probably watch it week to week. Otherwise, I'm about to start on Utena. I haven't watched it for about a decade, and just got all the dvds.

I agree completely. It was so easy to fall in love with the characters.

Waiting to continue watching Psycho-Pass & Zetsuen no Tempest. I also finished "K" just now. Watching that Spice & Wolf-vibed "Maoyuu" anime along with uh...Space Brothers. Glad I got some nice Anime to watch this year as well heh.

Maoyuu surprised me with the oppai invasion but I'm curious to see where it goes heh.

I've got quite the list, but as for what I'm actively watching and planning to watch this season~:

Watching: AKB0048 Next Stage, Maoyuu, Cuticle Detective Inaba (if it remains as funny as the first episode), Psycho-Pass, Hunter x Hunter, Shin Sekai Yori, Girls und Panzer (yay hiatus. >>)

Plan to try: Vividred Operation, Amnesia, Sasami-san@Ganbaranai

Backlog: (watching off and on / gotta catch up) Jormungand, Robotics;Notes, Chu2Koi, Magi, Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun

Too much anime. ;.; This isn't counting the really old ones in the backlog either.

Tell me about it. I still have 15-20 DVD sets of anime shows I bought in 2011 from a big Rightstuf sale that I have yet to watch! And add to that all the stuff I have on my hard drive, I'll never get thru it all. I need more hours in the day so I can cram in as much anime as possible and still be able to sleep and go to work.

Forgot to insert Magi into my watching list on here. Morgiana is so damn awesome in that and I'm loving the serious tone of that series. It could easily go into corny comical but I feel it knows what it is doing with the "happy-serious" tone that it has going for it. The OST also has me curious if it sounds good as a whole (the whole soundtrack) or if it only suits the anime itself.

Can't wait to watch more of this. Magi is just so fun to watch with bosses getting owned in nice ways along with nice character designs.

I try to keep it to a limited number at a time, so right now I'm powering through Robotics;Notes and Chuunibyou. I do have a group of friends who get together for an Anime night each fortnight as well; currently we're working through Gurren Laggan, Hare + Guu, K-On, Madoka and Samurai Champloo.

Started watching Sword Art Online. Between last night and today, have watched the first 14 episodes already. Was curious why it's so popular. Much more interesting to me than the original .hack anime was (which I only could force myself to watch maybe 10 episodes of). Kinda bugs me that the whole thing feels on fast forward though, in that it likes to jump ahead months between episodes.

The fast-forward feel is why it's taken me a long time to get through this one, as well. I really want to like it, and there's a lot there to like, but it does feel like they are rushing you through the story.

Finally getting around to watching Shining Hearts. But all I can think every time I see Airy is why does her DD version have a kitty smile? Not that it's not cute, but she never once made that face, and she's not mischievous. I can't find any pics of her making that face.... whyyyyy?

Also, why did they never make Amil? She has the most air time of the three in the anime. I know the game is probably different, but still.

The winter anime season has so far been great.

I'm especially liking Maoyuu Maou Yuusha and I'm also pumped up for a great second season of AKB0048. LoveLive will also - hopefully prove itself fun to watch, thought I'm not as anxious about it than I'm with AKB0048 (I like Shoji Kawamori's works very much and AKB0048 shares so many themes with all the Macross-series). These might be my favorites, with Chihayafuru 2 that seems just as pleasant as the first season was - hoping for third season already!

I've also watched VividRed Operation and the first episode was interesting (It's a child of Strike Witches and Nanoha - with talking ferret included!) and looked great. Sasami-san@Gambaranai reeks of SHAFT, but at least they now have more money than usual and the first fighting scene looked really awesome. I also like Hidari's artwork, perhaps it could be adapted as Dollfie Dreams someday in the future. KyoAni's Tamako Market was also great and watching it felt really great - such a pretty, happy and warm series. Also the bird. The bird.

Seran Kagura wasn't that good, Mayouu fills my quota of PLOT and it's sad that the adaption hasn't been able to live up with the original art style. Characters are so cute (especially Hibari) but anime's only content is jiggling and bouncing.

With all incoming anime, I still have some older series waiting to be watched, like True Tears (it hasn't been very good, there's something matter with directing) and some older and hideously made OVAs. After those, I'm hoping to start Shin Sekai Yori.

Do people here use MyAnimeList or some other database for listing anime/manga/VN's they have read/watched? It's always fun to see how much people have in common

I don't. But I think that's something best started when you're newer into anime. I've been into anime for 20 years now. I couldn't possibly use MyAnimeList because I honestly don't think I can remember every anime I've ever seen. Also, it would force me to remember bad anime that I forced myself to slog through. Anime I regret watching, because that's time in my life I'm not getting back.

I'll admit that I've avoided AKB0048 simply because the obvious connotations of the name scare me into a screaming stampede for non-manufactured pop idols... So I never looked into it. But now you inform me that Kawamori is involved... Damnit!

Now I HAVE to watch it.

Loving Maoyuu so far.

Finished Sword Art Online. Yeah. I didn't care for the second half of the show. I would rather them have expanded the story of the first half instead.
