Keijogirl Posted July 6, 2013 On a whim I just started Sci-Fi Harry. So far I'm at ep 5. I was drawing parallels between it and Akira, but then it branched off into something so engaging. I love it. OhnoRaptors Posted July 6, 2013 I'm currently in love with Aikatsu! It is ridiculously adorable, and I love girl girls. If you enjoy Precure and like idols, I suggest giving it a try. ^^
baldylox Posted July 6, 2013 I've been running thru lots of stuff lately but the ones that stick out to me have been Queens Blade Rebellion, Gosick and BTOOOOM! That last one is REALLY cool.... kinda creepy, very exciting and the overall concept is just something that could happen due to the world we live in now. I'm almost done with that, prolly finish it tonight. Oh I almost forgot due the crazy name it has but my fave series I've seen recently is "Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shi.tai". I absolutely ADORE the main character in the show! She's the most adorable and fun thing to watch! And it's great seeing how she integrates her real life and fantasy life together.... the best show of this was in episode two where she is fighting her older sister in a park. There's this huge and grandiose fight scene with special weapons and powers all over.... then we get to see what's REALLY happening thru the eyes of her friends watching them go at it. It was way too funny. If you haven't seen this show, go find it NOW. You won't regret it. Plus, eyepatches are so awesome! Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.
Keijogirl Posted July 6, 2013 I just looked up BTOOOOM! Holy crap that's interesting XD I'm going to look into that one as soon as I'm done with SciFi Harry, looks so awesome :3 At Home: Kiyo, Hikaru , Nikko, Komaki, Miho, Kana-chan, Tamakits, Illya, Misa, Deku, Nao, Zana, Ciri, Aki, Alisa, Kana, Yuka, Kiki, Komaki (Oni Mode), Ai, Chili, Nagisa, DDh03, Erica, Miyabi, Jun, Haruka, Sasha, and Laila Saving for: Accessories! baldylox Posted July 7, 2013 I just looked up BTOOOOM! Holy crap that's interesting XD I'm going to look into that one as soon as I'm done with SciFi Harry, looks so awesome :3 I just finished it and have to say I'm not happy. But this is due to the cliffhanger ending and no season 2 in sight for it. The show was VERY good and always throws curves at you while watching. But it left SO MANY open ends after the last episode, it begs for a second season to finish things up. it drives me nuts when this stuff happens. Still, it's an enjoyable show and I recommend watching it. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.
Nigoki Posted July 7, 2013 Let the watching of new shows begin! Monogatari Second Season is a must watch for me, and I'll definitely give Fate/kaleid liner Primsa Illya a go.
katnaper Posted July 7, 2013 Watched 'Earl and Fairy', cute. Wish I could read Japanese so I could buy the light novels. That or I wish they'd translate it to English then I would go grab a set. Tried watching 'Chaos Head' but first episode gave me a headache. Will see if I ever finish it. Maybe I should just try finishing "Get Backers' since it'll be a while before Season 2 of 'Overlord at Work' On a whim I just started Sci-Fi Harry... It's right up the dark, horror, mystery and sci-fi lover's alley. Might try 'Sci-Fi Harry' as it sounds interesting. We have our own BLOG. But it left SO MANY open ends after the last episode, it begs for a second season to finish things up. it drives me nuts when this stuff happens. Still, it's an enjoyable show and I recommend watching it. Billy Though the idea was not that original, I did enjoyed the show too. Himiko was so kawaii , almost forgot that she was under-age haha. I wasn't so mad about the open ending because it was kinda expected. Until the last 10 minutes of the show, there was no sight of the MCs collecting enough the chips so it'd be super ridiculous for them to win the game at that stage. Saying that, it was a good end for me but surely I'm rooting for season 2. BUT I heard that the adaptation was very true to the manga and its 12 episodes finished up to almost all the released volumes (probably chapter 50) at last Christmas time. The manga is still being released monthly in Japan, and up to only about 60ish now. I doubt they will go ahead and do a stand alone anime version so it will be a while, say year time until there is enough material for the second season At home Haruka (Haruka Niimi), Akira (Akira), Saber (Saber Alter), Madoka (Madoka SQ-Lab), Rise (Rise Kujikawa), Yukiho (Yukiho Hagiwara) & Touka (DDH-07)
baldylox Posted July 8, 2013 Yeah, once episode 10 of BTOOOM! ended, I knew the series wouldn't have a close or ending like I was wanting. but it was still good and left it open for a second season if they can do one. I did a marathon yesterday for a newer series ( last year maybe? ) for Mayuu something or other. It had a super pretty and large breasted girl as a demon lord and a fun straight man hero. It was a good show and reminded me a lot of Spice & Wolf with how they talked about economics and trading. I find things like that interesting when they can explain them in a fun way and keep your attention. That main girl that was the Demon Lord was so friggin cute tho.... and top heavy! She had some serious bounce going on and they played it up a bit in the show to good effect. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop. Silverwing Posted July 10, 2013 That BTOOOOM! show looks interesting. Lately I have been watching Strawberry Panic. Not the most action, but it's a cute story anyway. I have also been watching Kara No Kyoukai -I love it. pretty brutal in the way of subject matter, but an amazing story from the type-moon universe. I'm really enjoying it. HPotaku Posted August 4, 2013 I started Attack on Titan a few days ago and needless to say I am addicted XD And I've also been watching Free!
SisterKyoya Posted August 4, 2013 Oh man, I totally love Free! Other than it being total fan service for girls, its actually pretty funny and cute. Just thinking about it makes me go Great, now I'm going to be giggling to myself the next few hours. That's the very reason I try not to think about it much at all. What's not to love about well drawn guys with girly names in speedos with a storyline with blatant yaoi undertones? Yep, I'm going to be pretty useless the next few hours... I was really disappointed not being able to watch it last week especially after Tama's swimming shorts got made! ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram
HPotaku Posted August 4, 2013 Exactly, when I watch Free! I find myself giggling half the time or covering my face in second-hand embarrassment. I agree, it is surprisingly good once you get past the fan service. Yes, I can see why girls go crazy over it. Ahh, I need to watch the latest episode as well. I guess I'll go do that. Anna-neko Posted August 4, 2013 I am currently torn between Free! (it needs no explaining), incoherent yelling about Titans (protip: don't go into Pacific Rim after Titans marathon... fandom streams aren't meant to cross this hard) and catching up on The World God Only Knows ....while waiting for some Patlabor DVDs to come from Netflix
SisterKyoya Posted August 4, 2013 What is Titans? I've heard mention of it here and there the last couple of weeks, but had no idea what it was. My only complaint about The World God Only Knows is that it wasn't long enough. The megane get me every time. Even if the main character wasn't one, I still really enjoyed the anime. I also recently finished watching Persona 4 and found it really interesting. At least now I understand what the big deal is about the Rise DD, but the eyes even in the anime still weird me out a bit. I couldn't help giggling sometimes because of the shading they used on the faces that made everybody often look like they have a 5 o'clock shadow that needs to be shaved off, even the girls. Another also has me really fascinated even though it's a bit brutal for what I'm used to. At least so far the gross parts are easy to see from a mile off so I can avoid those. I think I'm about half way through that one but I'm looking forward to finishing it. Much to my surprise I've found that I really love One Piece. Hulu currently has the Funimation dubs up so I've been going on a binge. The first time Raven and I tried to watch it, I couldn't understand why Luffy was always yelling and screaming, so needless to say I didn't pay attention long enough to figure out why his body defies even most cartoon physics. I just couldn't make any sense of the anime. I'm really glad that I got bored enough to play it as background noise one day, and much to my surprise I became hooked. I like that the pace of the stories are a lot longer than any I'm really used to that, but I like it. Plus it doesn't hurt that the green-haired swordsman (gah, I'm really bad with names) is voiced by the same voice actor who did Giroro from Sgt. Frog. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram
Anna-neko Posted August 4, 2013 What is Titans? I've heard mention of it here and there the last couple of weeks, but had no idea what it was. Attack on Titan - its.. its.. a thing we're all addicted too. Entire human race is down to a few hundred thousand, live in a city enclosed by a MASSIVE 50m high wall (well, multiple walls) .. and there's things in the rest of the world are TITANS who do nothing but eat humans. That is all Basically Evangelion (end of world, humanity wipe out) for the new millennium. With less fanservice (ok, the Levi fanclub will disagree) and pacing just as splotchy yes, God Only Knows should have been longer!! I hear the manga had waaaaaaaay more stuff in it I was double pleased with the subtitles actually doing their job in terms of translation and dutifully writing in "Divine Brother" whenever Elsie yells "Kami-nii-sama" or calling her hagoromo a raiment. Way to do your job, translators!! One Piece is my crack and has been on/off since.. err.. since... 2002. Recently sat down and binged on it from the beginning to .. err... right before Ennies Lobby (and then read ALL of the manga from start to vol 60)
katnaper Posted August 4, 2013 My only complaint about The World God Only Knows is that it wasn't long enough. I've only just started watching this, but its been a kinda on and off thing. I'm currently watching Fairy Tail and loving it. I wish I could have my own Erza. I also recently finished watching Persona 4 and found it really interesting. I loved this series for some reason. Loved it quite a bit, I had to get nendo petits and other related figures. Kinda like I did with Tiger and Bunny, and SAO online. Been having to stop myself from getting Gon and Killua figures from Hunter X Hunter 2011. Darn all these really good animes. We have our own BLOG. Anna-neko Posted August 4, 2013 Just out of curiosity, did you watch the Dub or Sub? you mean One Piece? .. I've watched parts of both! Originally when the FUNi first released the uncut DVDs, watched the dub (was showing a friend the series and she didn't wanna read subs all day), but then certain episodes just can't help but switch to subs Like during Nami's homecoming &when she breaks down in middle of village - the dub is good buuuuuuuuuut Nami's hysterics in Japanese somehow sound better
aquilla429 Posted August 4, 2013 At the moment I'm watching several of this seasons anime, my favourites by far are Free! and Servant x Service but I'm also watching Kiniro Mosaic, Fanasista Doll, Rozen Maiden, Fate Kaleid Liner Prisma Ilya and Kitakubu Katsudou Kiroku. I'll probably watch some other series from this season too at the end when I can watch it in batches, rather than trying to remember to download it every week. baldylox Posted August 4, 2013 I started to watch "Black Butler" but after 13 episodes, I got bored with it. I can only deal with so much of the same plot bits over and over.... plus I want to punch Ciel in his one good eye for being such a little turd. Anyways, I hosted a doll meet yesterday and decided to share this gem with everyone: Hataraku Maou-sama! This has to be one of the best anime I've seen in a long time. The story is hilarious, the characters are top notch and the interactions between those characters are priceless. All I can say is that if you haven't heard of this yet, go find it and watch it because once you see the first episode, you'll want to watch it all in one sitting. Why? Satan goes to work at McDonalds. Nuff said. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.
aquilla429 Posted August 4, 2013 Anyways, I hosted a doll meet yesterday and decided to share this gem with everyone: Hataraku Maou-sama! This was my favourite show from last season. SisterKyoya Posted August 5, 2013 Just out of curiosity, did you watch the Dub or Sub? you mean One Piece? lol, actually I was asking PrettyCranium if it was the sub or dub of Tiger & Bunny that they watched. I couldn't watch more than 3 episodes of the dub, it totally just kills the show. Some of the jokes and whatnot they just took straight, making Tiger sound like a complete moron. And the difference between the style and sound of the two voice actors is immense. Once I heard what the dub's voice sounded like, I wanted to punch whoever did the vocal casting because I don't think they ever watched a single episode of the original. And then Tiger and Bunny almost sound the same... UG! There is so much I hate about the dub and I totally love the original. So far I'm just working through the dub version of One Piece, but I'm sure at one point that I'll get around to the original. It is really nice having a hugely long series to watch. I started to watch "Black Butler" but after 13 episodes, I got bored with it. I can only deal with so much of the same plot bits over and over.... plus I want to punch Ciel in his one good eye for being such a little turd. I can totally understand why it became boring, and yes Ciel is a turd. Personally I really love the show, especially Grell. He just cracks me up a lot. I think another reason I was so fascinated by Black Butler (other than the dub voice actor for Sebastian is my all time favorite) is because it is a more period piece. The Victorian & Edwardian eras still fascinate me after many years of research. The architectural and fashions styles really can't be beat if you ask me. I found a lot of the stories to be interesting but it does help that I really love the master & servant in a massive manor house format. That reminds me, I really need to get around to watching Emma. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram
