Wow wow wow; I am in complete awe of your amazing Christmas gift to your girls.

Chalk me up as being extremely surprised. I surely didn't expect to see a full kitchen set waiting for the girls. And even tho it may not be a "traditional" gift, it sure seems to have made your girls very happy.... and that's what counts right?

 

I hereby withdraw my Scrooge comments from before sir. You've certainly made me eat my words there. Congrats on finally hooking your girls up with some Christmas presents that they can use and enjoy for years to come! Unless Saber tries to cook something, then all bets are off....

Hmm...I think scripple has been replaced by his clean-shaven good twin from the mirror universe. Or maybe Eir has used her illusion powers to impersonate him. I like to throw some curve balls at you from time to time. And yeah not necessarily traditional but as you pointed out it's something my girls were happy about and I agree that's what matters. As for Saber cooking something, I am a little worried about that. Maybe we'll restrict her and Asuka to that old hotplate.

Thank you. I think the girls were taken completely by surprise. I loved Sakura's initial reaction, but Saber's was cute too. She loves anything associated with food of course.

Thanks. It was quite hard to track down a good kitchen in their size. But this one is really nice. Quite detailed and the scale really is great. It even came with a nice selection of pots and pans and utensils. I won't point out the brand label on the appliances so as not to ruin your good buzz.

Some girls don't want kitchens it's true. But it turns out I've got a few who love to cook. Lots of different tastes and personalities in this world.

Thanks. I thought it looked pretty neat when I found it online and it really is quite detailed. And the girls have been asking for a kitchen of their own for a while now. I hope you had a Merry Christmas as well.

The kitchen is often referred to as the heart of the home. I think you chose a thoughtful and meaningful gift for your family this year. Your girls seemed to understand its significance right away. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.

Amazingly enough we did have a nice Christmas. I think the constant supply of food Sakura and Steffi cranked out of the kitchen kept everyone's mouths too full to start any arguments. Or at least they were too lethargic after eating so much. Either way it was a good Christmas this year, including the time they spent sharing their backgrounds before Christmas itself.

I agree. Knowing each other's backgrounds changes their perspectives of each other. Fights often seem petty or pointless when you consider the big picture. It is definitely easy to get caught up in things and fight though. I am glad there was such a sense of hope and harmony this year.

 

This kind of peaceful situation can be a calm before the storm. I hope things stay peaceful but you can never predict what will happen. Things don't tend to stay calm in our family for too long.

Ever the optimist aren't you? Yes, I'm afraid things will return to some level of dysfunction soon enough. Especially since I might have accidentally opened a bit of a can of worms over at scripple.org.

 

But I hope it's not to the level of calm before the storm. Maybe just a return to the normal level of dysfunction.
