M: Oh, this is that show with that guy with the box, right? Let's watch something else.

 

*Zoes hits the pause button*

 

 

Zoe: Uh. Don't you have something else you should be doing?

 

M: Not that I can think of. Like what?

 

Zoe: Like, for example, begging the pervert not to kick you out.

 

M: Why should I bother?

 

Zoe: Huh?!?!

 

 

M: Look, we both know that Art-chan always gets her way. Why should I bother demeaning myself when I know she's going to take care of it? I'm just going to sit back, relax and let her take care of it. I'm sure she's got the boy and Aya wrapped around her finger by now.

 

 

Zoe: You really think that's a good attitude to have? If you go in there like that, they'll boot you to the curb, Saber or no Saber.

 

 

M: Oh, please! Talk to the hand, bitch! If they let YOU stay here, they'll let anyone stay here. You're just like me, except less pretty and not near as smart.

 

 

Zoe: What! I am nothing like you! And I am prettier and smarter than you.

 

M: Uh huh. Sure. Keep telling yourself that.

 

Zoe: I am NOTHING like you period. End of question.

 

 

M: Oh, come on! When I was here as Maki, they had no problem accepting that you were probably a criminal and letting me investigate you. If they hadn't been so willing to write you off, it would have been more difficult to get in here.

 

 

M: Like me, they think you're a bad sheep. They just keep you around because you haven't really screwed up that bad. But...I'm going to let you in on a little secret....

 

 

M: Zoe, dear. You are one bad day away from being me. You dance around the line with your antics, but one day, you'll go too far and cross it. Then, just like me, they'll turn against you.

 

 

M: They'll label you as hopeless and irredeemable and nothing you can say or do will ever get them to not hate you again. But, don't worry, they'll be kind...they'll kill you with their kindness. They won't kick you out, they'll just look down on you. No matter what they say, you'll know it when they look at you.

 

 

M: So, still smug and thinking you're better than me or has that taste of the future woke you up a bit?

 

 

Zoe: You're right.

 

M: Of course!

 

Zoe: Someday, I probably will go too far and say or do something that really hurts them when I don't want to.

 

 

Zoe: BUT, there's one big difference between us. No matter how bad I screw up, I'd never give up. I'd never stop trying to make up for it. No matter how humiliating or degrading it might be, I'd do it.

 

 

Zoe: I damn sure wouldn't cause my family to suffer and beg and grovel to make up for me. Saber's as much a victim of your escapades as anyone and here you are, making her do your dirty work. That's just not right.

 

 

Zoe: You claim you want to be a big sister to Saber. Then, step up and be one. Big sisters don't hide behind their little ones. You should want to protect her, not push your crap onto her.

 

 

Zoe: You get to that point and I will happily admit that we are somewhat alike. Now, I suggest you sit there and think about things carefully.
