Moments Part 7: Saber/M

 

M: How is she?

 

Saber: Finally sleeping soundly. Things seem to have taken a lot out of her, figuratively and literally. I think she'll be fine after a good rest.

 

 

M: It's odd to see her actually so soundly asleep. She generally only goes into a light trance for a few hours each night.

 

Saber: That's all?

 

M: If she was a full-blood fae instead of half, it would only be an hour each night. They're built differently.

 

 

Saber: Interesting. I'd heard rumors, but were unsure of how true they were. It must have been difficult for you to grow up amongst such different people.

 

 

M: Sleep cycles were...the least of my problems.

 

 

Saber: I'm sorry, nee-san. I didn't mean to bring up bad memories.

 

 

M: Anyways, I can't believe that Tia got so worked up about a little car trip. It's not like it's a big deal even if it is her first time.

 

 

Saber: It's not just that, nee-san. She's been worrying about you for days now. I doubt she's had any rest during that time. Her nerves were totally shot.

 

M: About me?

 

 

Saber: Yes. First, worried that you might be hurt in...all the thing that happened. Then, when you were, I don't think she slept a wink. She was by your side all the time in case you needed her. And now, she's been worried about whether or not you'll be accepted here. The poor dear.

 

 

M: *softly* Her..and you too..I never thought..

 

Saber: What was that, nee-san?

 

M: Nothing...nothing at all.

 

 

Saber: Speaking of that, have you talked to either Master or Aya yet?

 

M: No, the boy had a phone call and I heard that she's busy primping, so I'm left to my own devices for a bit.

 

Saber: I see.

 

 

M: Art-chan...I was just talking to Zoe..and...

 

Saber: Yes?

 

M: What if...they want me to leave?

 

 

Saber: Nee-san! Don't think that. I believe in all of you. I believe that you're going to work this all out so we all can be together as one big happy family. Don't even consider the possibility that it won't happen.

 

 

M: I want to, but I hurt them..and you. I don't know if "I'm sorry" will ever be sufficient. If things were reversed, I don't know if I could forgive and forget.

 

Saber: Don't underestimate them...or you.

 

 

Saber: Morgaine Pendragon, I've forgiven you. I know that dead down, you were hurt and scared by all that's been done to you. People hurt you and you wanted to hurt everyone else back. But you don't need to do that any more.

 

 

Saber: They are good people. They wouldn't hurt you intentionally. I won't lie and say that they won't unintentionally hurt you, but that's when you forgive and forget like you'd like them to do when you screw up. An eye for an eye just leaves everyone blind.

 

 

M: Actually, that's not quite true. The last person would have one eye left.

 

Saber: Nee-san!

 

M: Sorry. Mood was getting too heavy.

 

 

Saber: Just go in there, be honest and open. Don't try to avoid blame or make excuses. Speak from the heart and you'll be ok.

 

M: I hope that's true. I want us to be here together.

 

 

Phyla: Pardon this one for interrupting, but Aya-san would like to talk to you at your earliest convenience, Morgaine.

 

*Phyla turns and leaves*

 

M: I guess it's show time.
