kymaera Posted December 31, 2012 Phyla: This one has brought Morgaine as you requested. Aya: Thank you, Phyla-dear. Can you give us a few minutes, please? Phyla: This one is not sure of this course of action. Do you not wish this one to stay? Aya: I should be fine, dear. I trust Morgaine to behave. Phyla: As you wish. *Phyla departs* M: So, you trust me, eh? Aya: I trust you to act in your own best interests and I don't think it would serve them very well right now for you to harm me in any way. M: Ha! Fair enough. Aya: I would ask you to sit and join me, but alas, there doesn't appear to be any other seats available. M: Heh. Not like I haven't pulled the same trick on my subjects when I was queen. M: Anyways, shall we continue this game or move on to the heart of the matter? Aya: Very well. I'm not really in the mood for games anyways. Aya: It's not been easy deciding what to say when we met again. I've had a lot of conflicting emotions. M: Understandable. Aya: My memories of what you put me through aren't the clearest. That's one of the most frustrating parts. I keep waffling on what I should. Aya: Part of me wants to force you to beg and grovel for forgiveness. I won't deny that I'd love to see you squirm and fidget. Then, to see your face as I deny your request. Aya: But part of me also heard Saber as she told me that you've had a rough childhood. So, I feel a bit sorry for you and I'd like to be the better person as darling thinks I should be. But, it's hard for me to forgive you. M: And? Your decision is? Aya: A compromise. I can't say that I'll forgive you, but I'll give my permission to stay here. However, it will be for a price. Something for something. M: Interesting. I have to admit it's not what I was expecting. Continue. Aya: I want the answer to a question. A full, complete, honest answer with no attempts at evasion, half-truths or misdirections. Give me that and I'll give you want you want. M: Again, very interesting. Very well. I won't guarantee that I will answer it but ask your question and if I feel it is worth it, I will answer it to the best of my abilities. Aya: It's simple. Probably the most basic one that there is... Aya; Who am I? I have no memories of my past beyond a certain point. Why is that and who was I before I became Aya? M: That's it? That's your big question. Very well. I accept your terms and give you my answer. M: The short answer is: I don't know. Aya: What?! But how could you not? You were the one who controlled me and manipulated me into coming here. You've been pulling my strings all this time. M: I won't deny any of that, but you forgot. You're not the only one who suffered some memory loss. With that number you and the demon in you did on me, I have gaps as well. Aya: *sigh* After all this, I'd hoped to at least resolve who I am. But now, I don't even know if I'm human any more. I might just be some...thing...made by you. M: Oh, if that's what you're really worried about, then I can say with 100% certainty that's not the case. Aya: What? But if your memory is gone, how can you be that sure? M: High magics take their toll. Making Mordred was...costly. That's a price that I couldn't pay again. It's physically not possible. Aya: Then, I'm really a human? M: I don't know what else you could be. As far as what I can piece together from my fragments of memory, you were just a comatose Jane Doe victim with no memory with a striking resemblance to Guinevere. I did a bit of magic to wake you up and control you, but I have no idea who you were or how you got there. M: Who knows....you may be Guinevere reincarnated. Or you might be one of her distant descendents. Or you might be some random schmuck that just happened to look like her. Don't think I knew. Doubted that I cared. That you looked like her was enough for my purposes. Aya: I see. M: That's the full and complete truth, as far as I know it. Does that satisfy you? Aya: I honestly can't say that it does, but you kept your end of the bargain. I won't object to the others giving you a chance and letting you stay here. Please don't screw it up. I'm not sure if you really deserve this, but Saber does. Don't let her down. M: Then, if we're done, I'll be off. *pauses a few seconds* M: By the way, if I had it to do over again, I'd do it differently. I wouldn't make the same mistakes again. Aya: I guess that's as close to an apology as you're willing to give. I'm sure darling is waiting to talk to you about this. You still have to convince him to let you stay. M: Pfft! Like the boy will be any issue. All I'll have to do is flash some boob and he'll be putty in my hands.
