juu-yuki Posted December 31, 2012 Two commission in one day, I am on a ROLE! Well, not really because these are long over due. I am sorry guys, I will make it up to you with free goodies. Before I forget, I would just like to say that this customer has been super nice to me this whole time. I feel so bad because I got this head back in November and I didn't finish it until now due to exams. She has been super patient with my throughout this whole process and it just made things a lot easier and less stressful for me >^<. Thank you very much Hope and I "hope" she came out the way you imagined. XD This is my second time working on a Candy/ Mirai mold. I must say, she has the SMALLEST head EVER!!! She can barely take 22mm eyes, so if the eyes look funny in some of the photos, I blame her head. The owner wanted to turn her into Ryundel. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think she is a Volks original character. Ryundel, from the photo reference I got, she has very thick black lashes, blond hair and green eyes. I tried my best to reproduce that. The owner also included a pair of eyelashes with her, which I applied after finishing the faceup. I am happy with the end result ^^. Faceup: Repaint by me, included: - Head cleaning and faceup removal - Custom design and painting - 5 coats of sealant - Pinky and peachy blush - Glossed lips Enjoy. Feel free to leave critics if there is something you like/ dislike. =] More photos here: http://shiroyuki.juu-yuki.com/blog/ Commission info here: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=3961 I noticed some of you who couldn't PM me here. misskale Posted January 3, 2013 This is my second time working on a Candy/ Mirai mold. I must say, she has the SMALLEST head EVER!!! She can barely take 22mm eyes, so if the eyes look funny in some of the photos, I blame her head. The owner wanted to turn her into Ryundel. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think she is a Volks original character. It's interesting comparing her with my Mireille. They carry over the original contrast between their faces where Mirai was dark and Candy was light. Both are really nice though and really show off how nice of a sculpt she is. Mirai/Candy does have a small head, but it was scaled for the DDI body ^_^; It's interesting that her eyes were supposedly 22mm, but after having to shave the 22mm's I put in I seriously doubt it on some levels. T-Rho Posted January 3, 2013 She looks great! I really like the eyelashes on her. I have only seen a couple DD's with eyelashes, but I think it adds a nice dimension to her eyes. Love it ************************************** DD's: Aoife, Maeve, Sinead, Claire, Merida, Orla, Alana (arrived) T-Rho http://kaitekinamafura.wordpress.com - Blog https://kaitekinamafura.storenvy.com - Store
PlasticFantastic Posted January 10, 2013 It's nice to see some of the more modern DD aesthetic breathed into these very old heads. I mean, Candy and Mirai were some of the very first DD's and their original faceup reflects how they used to look. I think Volks has done a great job on more recent faceups - It would be nice to see Volks do an update and re-release of these two girls. Maybe they will do them at a milestone anniversary? She came out very nicely Juu-Yuki! I'm sure her owner is over the moon to receive her back! ^_^ Please visit my YouTube channel for helpful DD tips, tutorials, and reviews!
