Lita_Blanchimont Posted January 1, 2013 Hiya guys! I was wondering if anybody had any experience with Ringdolls? Like, do they yellow and stain really easily? And how is the customer service with the actuall website?
Ara Posted January 1, 2013 Ringdoll has actually a very bad past regarding customer service. While the dolls itself seem to be of good quality they once suddenly just disappeared, deleted their facebook and refused to communicate with customers. Many people didn't receive their orders for many months, without any kind of communication. They also once send out a wrong doll to someone and pretty much just told that person to accept that. I personally wouldn't buy from them, I was able to watch this whole drama for a long time and they did do a lot of things that were absolutely not okay. This was 2011, including beginning of 2012 for some. Right now it seems that everything is normal again, but for me it left a very bitter taste.
Juanita Posted January 1, 2013 My friend has a (white skin) Ringdoll doll. I cannot say that the doll has yellowed significantly in the past year, but then again my friend also takes meticulously care of it and always puts him back into the closet whenever she isn't handling him. I should tell you that their resin color is really odd though. It's very translucent, I think it's eco resin or something like that.
Aronzo96 Posted September 20, 2013 I know this thread is old, but I would like to say that I've seen Ringdoll's customer service and quality have improved recently. They have nice reps who reply to emails in a timely manner, and when my brother's Julia came home with a broken leg piece they made a brand new piece and sent it to him free of charge, right away. The resin they use is French resin or "Eco" resin, which contains a smaller amount of urethane than standard resin and yellows faster. As a result, it does end up looking translucent (some prefer this look, as it appears to them to look more like natural skin) Other companies that use this type of resin (Island Doll and the makers of Narin/Narae, etc) also yellow quickly. That's just the nature of that type of resin. Their dolls are actually very beautiful in person, and if you get the default faceup it looks very close to what is shown in the stock photos. It seems to me that they've been working especially hard since the debacle back in 2011 to get their customer service back up to a good standard and they are working on building a solid reputation despite their mistakes in the past.
