what do you think about the after market price of dolpa 28?

So I've been wondering since DD Aoko reached already 100k Yen above in YJA just after the dolpa 28, what do you think there price would be after some months? I'm really curious about how much would Melty go since she's the first DDS to have a semi-elf ears

I don't know what pricing will be like on these newest girls from Volks but as the past ones have shown us, DD's aftermarket values can vary wildly. Different factors contribute to a dollfies worth and value like popularity and rarity so this is why prices fluctuate.

 

Take for instance Sasara. She's super popular and highly desired and her high prices reflect that.

 

But girls like Mari, Yuki Nagano aren't quite as popular so their prices aren't nearly as high.

 

Seeing how Aoko has already skyrocketed in value, it may mean that she was either hard to get to begin with or that she's super popular. I can see her being popular since she's a Type Moon character and they are VERY popular in Japan. But one thing to remember is that the prices we see on her on YJA may not be her *selling* prices.... they may only be what people are *asking* for her.

 

Before Melty went up for lottery, she seemed to be pretty popular too. So she may also go up in value very soon. It's hard to guess who will and who won't tho.

I think it's too soon to tell. There's still the After Event.

I think, part of the reason Melty was sold out first, and we see a lot of her on YJA is because lots of people assumed she would be popular (for her being Melty with her pretty sculpt and her having those elves' ears.) And so more people bought her with the intention to resell . Aoko on the other hand, looking at people's initial reactions, a lot of people were disappointed due to the similarities with DDH-07. As a result, and this is my assumption only, the ones that bought her at dolpa were mostly DD owners that really wanted to keep her, of course with the exception of some. When people realized how pretty Aoko is, there's starting to be a demand for her, but there's not a lot of her on YJA, thus the price increase.

Type Moon characters tend to go up in price. I haven't been in the hobby long and I know that. My friends told me to get Aoko through any lottery I could (USA's three options or International) because she would go up in value. I don't think anyone realized how much, though. One thing to remember, too, about her is that people who got her got her because they collect Type Moon things. I don't think people are selling because they are disappointed that's she's similar to the DD-07 head (I don't see it at all), I think that what you see are the people selling her that know that Type Moon fans will pay that much for them... I don't see Aoko decreasing in value after she sells for as much as she's going for. If anything she'll stabilize around where she is and continue to increase over time.

 

As for Melty, well... aside from Sakuya from Shining Blades, I don't know any other Shining Hearts girl that demands a high second-hand price (Neris & Airy). I thought Melty would be a little more sought after due to her elf-ears... but I still didn't think she'd reach Aoko's price second hand. She'll probably continue to climb some, though if only for the elf-ears alone.

 

I had a theory that they made more of Aoko because they knew she'd be popular, that's why she didn't sell out as quickly- not because people liked Melty more necessarily. Maybe they didn't make much of Melty because they didn't think she'd be popular and thought Aoko would be given her Type Moon status... which judging by second hand prices, Volks knows their market.

TYPE-MOON things always popular see saber normal/lily/alter, sakura & rin (not including nero & alter II because it's made to order )

of course partly because the series fate/stay night & the character very popular

if you see review about comiket event at japan, the queue for TYPE-MOON always very damn long & items sold out in just few hours

 

btw because aoko use lottery system, so the stock will not many as nero/alter (as it's made to order) so I think the price will sky rocketed for next few months

though many buyer of that is a shark who wants to rob our money

 

by the way I'm not see any similarities with DD-07 head

maybe because that blue eyes that people say it's similar

I can only wonder.. I've seen her clothes on YJA going for outrageous amounts already... I'm curious if its because of just people being very excited over her b/c she's not 100% out yet (right? or am i wrong on that?)

 

The IdolM@ster dolls are staying about the same as their original msrp...at least from Mandarake and YJA listings... and Idolm@ster is a really popular franchise and anime I thought...

 

I only hope it kind of mellows out after they finally are delivered to everyone.. I'd love Aoko's eyes and her boots, and heck even maybe Melty's head but geeeeeeez if they are like Sasara prices, I'll just be wishing for a long long time lol

Aoko's TypeMoon. TypeMoon stuff is popular and the sculpts almost always turn out fantastic for those. Of course she's going to go up.

 

Anyway, it's hard to judge the actual after market of these dolls. It's too soon. When the only people who have them are the Dolpa people (and less than 400 of each were available judging from how fast they sold out at the Dolpa and what numbers they were on), people will charge more than the market value. You can't start to really judge it until after the after event in Japan.

It is. But Haruka simply doesn't look like Haruka. She'd be fine to turn into another doll, but as Haruka Amami the Idolm@ster character, she's terrible. And Miki looks like her anime design, not like she does in the games, so that throws off fans too. Most Idolm@ster fans don't seem to care for the anime designs of the characters. I know I don't. That's the main reason I didn't want Miki for myself (yeah, I'm an Idolm@ster fan).

Well... Melty did sell out before Aoko at the Dolpa, that's true, but...

 

The difference was a matter of a couple minutes, so it's probably not worth putting any stock in. That small difference is within the tolerance of random chance of what order people got lined up in. If the line had been in a slightly different order, Aoko could have been gone first.

 

(That's right, at Dolpa there's just one line for the limited dolls. If you're at the front you can buy all the dolls if you want to. I don't think it was coincidence that things started selling out within minutes of each other).

Yeah after watching the anime and then seeing some of the gameplay on youtube, Haruka wasn't represented well (same with Sakura from Sakura Taisen). Haruka's mold is more for like a little kid character (which worked out perfectly for me oddly enough XD), but yeah that might be why the prices are still reasonable on them.

 

I like to get aoko's clothes, but will stay away from YJA for a while.. their pricing right now is making me a little sick lol
