Surface quality of the vinyl?

Recommended Posts

marisa_doll

I thought I'd try and find out more about this .

I'm talking about the very fine surface quality of the vinyl. With my MDD there's a tiny bit of overall specularity (shininess) which I think is normal.

But I noticed there were some areas on the body where the specularity looked scratched. It was either a small line, or tiny spots/blotches.

Since it's the specularity, it shouldn't normally visible unless you tilt the limb such that it catches the light at an angle. Hence I'm not really concerned about it because it's practically invisible unless you closely inspect it (and it's not really showing on camera).

Just wondering if anyone else has seen this?

I'm trying to figure out if this is just how it is, or whether some aspect of my handling caused them to appear

One hand I have is very shiny on the fingers. That same hand has a rough patch. Maybe that one was a hand batch!

There are some tiny blotches on one of my DDs feet too, but I had to really look for them to see.
