Any football (American NFL) fans around?

It is playoff time, so I just wondered.

 

I am Peyton Manning's most die-hard fan (my gamer tag is Peytongirl) , so this is a dream year for me. I can only hope to see him win another ring after all he has been through.

 

Today was the first day of the playoffs. Bengals and Vikings are out, Packers and Texans move on. Two more games tomorrow.

 

I just wondered if there were any other football fans around. I love the NFL.

I wouldn't describe myself as a huge fan, but I do have a season pass to the website and watch one or two games each week. I follow the Denver Broncos (because they have the same team name as my favourite Rugby League team, the Brisbane Broncos XD).

 

They've definitely done me proud this season though!

My dad played football in high school. He doesn't play anymore but he watches quite a lot on TV. My cousins also played it in school. I am used to hearing the sound of football games on TV when I come home. I don't have cable TV or even a physical TV in my apartment so I never hear it unless I go home. It has become a sound that reminds me of home.

 

Good luck to the Broncos. I hope they can win. If Misheru loves Mr. Manning so much, I will cheer for him too.

Football -- that's the one with the kind of oval brown ball?

 

I have no interest in football whatsoever myself- but being from Pittsburgh I constantly hear about it anyway. Steelers fans are very vocal, and can be found not just here, but everywhere we go. Anytime someone asks us where we're from when we're on vacation and we say Pittsburgh, we always get questions about football. The Steelers didn't do very well this year, so we've heard all about that, too. Good luck to anyone still in the running.

I watch almost every weekend for fun. I enjoy the strategy and each distinct players in the game. I'm looking forward to the Seahawks vs. Redskins game today!

That's definitely the appeal to me as well. The way a drive develops with each play is fascinating. This may sound strange, but it reminds me very much of chess and Starcraft, where so much play is based around your position and controlling zones of the field.

I've been watching football since I was, oh, 6 months old so yes I am a fan! It was one of the main things that my dad and I bonded over. It's gotten to the point where I don't ever want to leave the house on Sunday during football season lest I miss a game!

 

I picked my favorite teams based on their helmets when I was about 6 so it's a weird mix: Dolphins (as a child I was enchanted by the fact that the mascot on their helmet... had a helmet on!), Bengals (kitties, self-explanatory), Cardinals (state bird of Virginia, where my beloved grandparents lived), and Rams (since I'm an Aries). I've actually stuck with them all though honestly most of them are pretty terrible (let's not talk about the Bengals playoff game orz) but since I'm from NY I guess my "main" team is the Giants. Who weren't that great this year, but at least we win in terms of TD celebrations.

Despite my avatar, I'm a football fan as well. I've been following the 49ers after watching them win Superbowl XVI.

 

I'm not sure how they're going to do against Green Bay this weekend, but I'd obviously like to see them win.

I watch football sometimes, preferably on my team, the Saints. =p

 

The games against the 49ers and Falcons were pretty painful to watch...
