Varakitsu - Arctic Fox (Completed)

Ah...been thinking for a long while of getting myself a Dollfie Dream customized as my blog mascot - Varakitsu while others were getting theirs. Haven't seen the need or had the funds for it but I'm now considering it to see what options I have available, or can open up to obtain my own foxy spirit. Something "flicked" when I purchased Tama-chan with me now wanting to obtain a DD. Varakitsu would take form of my blog mascot who is having trouble being a mascot.

 

This post is mostly aimed at those curious from figure.fm and Busou Shinki World.

Appearance:

 

- White or silver shiny hair (long at the back; similar to above image.)

- Blue cat eyes

- White or silver foxy ears with similar tail color.

A) - Custom made red & white Canadian shirt and/or jacket (Summer and winter wear).

B) - Miko outfit or similar (I can try? Well, until I get the custom made outfit made?)

 

Personality:

She would be kind, yet constantly plotting out pranks in respectful ways. She would always tease in ecchi ways, if situation allows and is deemed appropriate. She would also try to favor the situation to her satisfaction, if necessary. She won't purposely annoy, simply kindly prod people to do her bidding. As a fox spirit she would show interests in combat (against paranormal beings) as well as enjoying people's slight misfortune during storms, yet respectful enough to assist when necessary.

Varakitsu has been in the making for a long while now and I just feel somewhat ready to try and bring her out in Dollfie form first if I can get her drawn ^^. I've been searching around for stuff and came across bits and pieces here. People also linked me to similar but I also lost them over-time as well. I was more into Busou Shinkis.

 

I'll clean up this first post as time goes by, if any progress is made to get my own Dollfie that is.

 

- Estimated Time of Arrival - Mid-to-Late 2013 or early 2014? Unknown.

She was summoned on March 06th, 2013 and was completed sometimes in October with the arrival of her white fox tail. She now awaits her main outfit which counts as a separate project.

Good question. Not to sure....

 

Varakitsu - I'd expect her to be the kind, plotty, yet prankful type. Kind, yet always looking to snatch what she wants from you or anybody that is marked as a target. Being my blog mascot I'd also see her over-the-top pranks and inserting herself into combat dealing with other super-natural beings. Being a foxy and a female she would tease people a lot with her 'assets', as well as stirring people up for the fun. Just your "care-free" yet prankful foxy ready to stir up a scene when bored.

 

(If I do get her the photoshoots might show a different side to her? We'll see.)

Renge - Your typical lecturing, happy-go-lucky foxy that considers herself to be an elderly wise fox spirit. She would constantly lecture me and anybody else. Unlike her battlemasters MK. II side she would actually be one with the ghosts, not fearful of it . My Renge is mine, not a copy-paste from Battle Rondo or Battlemasters. She would always be happy and proud of herself, angry when things don't go her way yet understanding however, that I will keep. She'll be the curious playful fox that people "might" know her as on fig.fm and etc.

Ya well, they're insanely expensive for me haha. The price and Busou Shinki held me back.

 

Oh? Yes, uh....Ya, but the blade keeps changing in each take of people's interpretation. The blades supposed to to be fancy, have numerous pointy edges, and meant quick & sudden attack while also able to catch blades in it. Also tried to add that "fox" and "spiritual" touch to it with the fox blades, emblem, and the 9 fox tails. I would say plastic? Whatever is easiest or gives the best quality. Up to you? The design is all over the place and quite a mess so good luck translating it.

 

If you are truly serious can you give me a prototype of what you translated to see if I agree on it or not?

If you are serious about this I'd recommend a red and white theme (red trim and white space) with the blade being the normal sword grey color. Those 9 tails at the bottom, good luck.

Well, whatever that default Miko body and head is that I linked to. I was recommended to get it so I'll get Miko because she smiles. And same, hope she comes out nice in the end.

She is sounding like a very nice character, I cant wait to see her take shape. You know, For her weapon you could check out 3D printing.

I'll look into 3D printing future concepts. I'll however need to get someone to do the 3D modeling for me, not that good at 3D stuff.

And purchased DD Miko & the blue neko eyes that were suggested. Waiting for confirmation and shipping notices. Also seeing concepts for my Fox's fang being worked on and updated for DD use. Was trying to get the fox ears and tail, lucked out. Both were "expired" on their auction & buy-out.

Yeah, I'd recommend 3D/print for that as well, I've tried clay, plaster, and wood in past projects and honestly once you've seen your first concept idea in print from 3D there's no going back. Flawless accuracy and consistency Draw back is it does cost a bit more...

I'll look into it whenever I got another sword concept thought up then, and previous ones modernized.

 

Thanks . Sadly I can't draw though. My bad for not tagging it under the image hmm. It is Varakitsu Prototype though That image was drawn up by someone stealing people's works (this one being the few that were drawn up by him) so been trying to get her redrawn by people. Couldn't. Would be nice if I can find someone to redraw her heh.

I ended up looking back at this thread to see what I missed in saying so I decided I might as well update this with BELATED news progress. I even came here to see what I had in mind to see if I could even consider making it happen now.

 

Also marked this as completed because she basically is with the white wig, ears, tail, and blue eyes. I however still need to get some things done. I'm even going to look into what people recommended here and elsewhere.

(I basically consider these side projects with no big impact on Vara herself.)

 

- Fox's Fang Sword - Been in the making for a long while now.

- Secondary sword - Generic name on that for a bit but her second one with ice features.

- Main Outfit - Still having trouble but shall get around to it.

- Ears & Wig fixes. - Ears bother me so looking around for better ones. Wanting to get a better wig that doesn't get ruffled as easily and is more photogenic.
