Pokemon X & Y

If I may, I want to ask if 1) Are there any Pokemon trainers here - 2) Are you interested in the game?

 

I picked up Pokemon at R&B stage. I continued on until Crystal, dropped out until B&W & B&W2. Something is keeping me hooked and I'm loving the news of Pokemon X & Y announcement. I see that Nintendo finally got the memo to go 3D but they seem to have missed the whole "All regions as one" note. Lovin' how they polished up the Pokemon world. I feel like I can actually connect to X&Y's world compared to the others. It feels more lively and welcoming for some reason.

 

I'm interested because:

- Fennekin - Fire starter - Fox Pokemon.

- Character customization.

- The 3D change.

- Nice beautiful world!

 

I don't have a 3DS but I just might get one so I can play this and try out Animal Crossing. Who else is interested and what is your history? Well, if you want to discuss that or not, and if you have one with Pokemon.

I'm thinking about picking up these when they come out. Been playing since the original Red/Blue days. I skipped 2nd gen, but got back into it with Ruby/Sapphire. Then I kept playing until Black/White when I kinda lost interest for a while, mainly because I had a lot of other games I was playing. But the trailer was pretty interesting so I think I might want to get back into Pokemon again.

 

I've never been into the competitive battling thing. I just like playing through the story and trying to collect all of the Pokemon.

My first game was Pokémon Yellow. :3 I really enjoyed it, but I'm not actually very good at the video games so I didn't really stick with it all that much. My siblings and I received various editions of the games at the same time, but my brothers and sister were much better at playing it than I was. I felt rather discouraged and thus I didn't continue to follow the other video games. (And I am even worse at the card game; my siblings always beat me!)

 

I didn't pick the games up again until my husband decided that he wanted to purchase HeartGold and SoulSilver for us to play together. Playing Pokémon games with him really revived my interest. He's still much, much better at battling and collecting than I am, but he's really patient with me so that we can play "together" rather than me being left behind to struggle alone.

 

We played Black and White together when those came out, and I actually beat the main storyline in White. That was the first time I ever fought the Elite Four and Champion. I haven't "caught them all," but I would really like to~ I tend to get bogged down with the idea of collecting all the pokémon and then I don't progress as much as I could.

 

We now have Black 2 and White 2, but I haven't played much of it just yet. I have another game I want to finish before I focus on White 2. I do plan to finish it before X and Y are released, though~

 

I am definitely interested in X and Y. I've really enjoyed playing the games, particularly now that I have someone to enjoy the games with and chat about them.

 

I agree with you (ArcticKitsune) about Fennekin~ So cute! ♥ I'll probably chose it as my starter.

To be fair, they haven't confirmed character customization yet, people are just guessing at it from the trailers (and I really hope so!)

 

I've been in love with the series since the beginning. Each game keeps getting better (although I felt Gen 4 was pretty weak) and I can't wait to see how this game plays out! It's a huge jump for the series.

I started watching Pokemon back in second grade. I'll never forget encountering such an amazing discovery in my life. My first Pokemon game was Japanese Yellow version. I loved having that Pikachu follow me around everywhere even though he hated me pretty much all the time.

 

These are the games I've played:

Gen 1: Red, Blue and Yellow

Gen 2: Gold, Silver

Gen 3: Ruby, Sapphire, Leaf Green

Gen 4: Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Soul Silver

Gen 5: Black 1, Black 2

 

I'm looking forward to X and Y! Yes, I basically got the 3DS just for this.

Of course there are also a few other choice games I got but Pokemon is definitely one of the main reasons.

(Other games include Professor Layton, Paper Mario, Animal Crossing, etc....)

I love Pokemon and I've been playing since Red/blue too I always loved animals and critters as a kid (not that I stopped), so Pokemon was the best thing ever, I was so obsessed, lol.

 

I'm really excited about the new games! I don't know which one to pick, both the legendaries look really awesome. I'll have to get a 3DS in order to play, hopefully I'll make good use of that 3DS...

 

Fennikin seems to be the most popular starter, and it's my favorite too. I love fire type and I love foxes, so Fennikin is great. I hope I like the starter evolutions, I was kinda disappointed last time.

 

I think, of all the main Pokemon games, Heart Gold was my favorite to play. Red will always be great for nostalgia and simplicity, but Heart Gold was just so warm and enjoyable. I loved that your pokemon followed you too. I hope X/Y have a warm fun feel to them like HG/SS. I like how W/B had more plot and character development, but the atmosphere was more...cold, I dunno.

One thing I like is that all the regions are being released simultaneously. We only have one 3DS right now, but to play as a family we will need a second one. This seems like a good time for me to buy the Japanese Pokemon and a JP 3DS, plus the opposite Pokemon in English for use with our US 3DS.

 

I like this since with a JP handheld in the house I would then get access to Bravely Default, more Miku, and more Layton (thanks, region lock!).

We've played Diamond/Pearl and Heartgold/Soulsilver. Never got around to Black/White. X/Y looks really neat, but neither of us currently has a 3DS. It's getting more and more tempting, though. The region lock is making it a much more difficult decision, however.

Do you import games sometimes?

That's my biggest issue with the region lock... I can read Japanese (to a certain extent), so I buy Japanese games for fun or because they weren't released here. But I also buy games in English. Errg I don't want to be tied down to one region only. X/Y is supposed to be world wide release, so I guess I might get an English 3DS (no need to grab the Jpn version early). Or wait and see if they get rid of the region lock

I play pokemon since the very beginning with red and blue. Blue was my very first, but I had to have both games to catch all the pokemons . I really enjoy this game and played all the versions I could until now.

Now I can play with my whole family, as my husband and my 2 kids are pokefans too. It is so funny to play together.

What I prefer is to try to catch all the pokemon. I am pretty proud of my complete podedex on my soul silver because there are no clone . I usually don't play competition online, as I am not really a strategic trainer.

We are very excited by X and Y release. We will buy 3DS to play these games. I have just finished White2 so I am really impatient to discover new pokemons. Morever the new games seem to be inspired from Europe! I think I will take the fire starter because he is so cute. My version will be X because I really like Xerneas. It remembers me Mononoke Hime.

If you're really serious about importing, there isn't much ways around it legally. It's just an expensive proposition all around. If you're unwilling to pay the cost for it, best bet is to just buy a handheld/console of whatever region you plan to buy the most games for and force yourself to pretend the rest doesn't exist.

 

That's what I did, once upon a time. But then I turned into one of those crazies that owns more than 1 of region locked consoles or handhelds just to be able to play Japanese games (have a Japanese PS2 and a Japanese Xbox 360, in addition to the US ones). If you pay attention to the games of other regions, you'll turn into a crazy person like me, and have less money in your wallet than you do now.

I've been a hardcore fan ever since the game came out in Greece and I've faithfully followed it throughout the years. In chronological order I've played; Red, Yellow, Silver, Crystal, Sapphire, LeafGreen, Emerald, Pearl, Platinum, SoulSilver, Black, White, Black2 and will be preordering X when it becomes available on the Greek Nortec/Nintendo site.

 

I love the game, I loved how much more advanced the B/W, B2/W2 storylines were, and I love the metagame! Because I'm a masochistic nut who disregards how menial IV breeding and EV training can become...

 

But that aside... I love all three starters... ;^; it's the first time this has happened to me! Chespin is the most huggable thing ever, Fennekin looks awesome and Froakie is the most boss starter if there has ever been one!

 

There are several games I'm aching to play on the 3DS but I've been putting getting one off (mainly because of doll-related purchases) for long. Now I have a reason to make some haste and buy it! ><

Oh goodness, and here I was thinking we wouldn't get a new Pokemon game for a bit as Pokemon Black/White2 only came out this past October! Hahaha guess I better get on the 3DS bandwagon sooner than I expected! Good thing I've pretty much completed B/W2. I've been playing since the good old days of Red/Blue, and have a cartridge from every release with the exception of Fire Red/ Leaf Green. Pokemon's something I grew up with as a kid, and the games are so fun that I'm sure that regardless of my age, I'll always be buying the newest release.

I know this feeling! I don't go with one type obsessively (proved self wrong) but I've been a Water/Grass user for almost all my games save for the original Silver... My history of starters is kinda like this...

 

Red: Squirtle (If I recall correctly I was the "only" one who had picked him over Charmander/Bulbasaur in my class at the time)

Yellow: Pikachu obviously

Silver: Cyndaquil

Crystal: Totodile

Sapphire: Mudkip

LeafGreen: Bulbasaur

Emerald: Treecko

Pearl/Platinum: Piplup

SoulSilver: Chikorita

Black/White/Black2: Oshawott

 

So my ballance is at: Water: 8 Grass: 2 Fire: 1 and Pikachu

I've only started with Fire once... and this time it's threatening to happen again... >< of course their evolutions will play a tiny bit of a role for me, so we'll see~

Oh, I've tried more than one starter per generation. I think Squirtle, Grotle, and Tepig are the only starters I haven't used. I think gen 2 has my favorite set of starters, I love all of them (usually there's one I like less than the others). I prefer fire types, but I like to pick whichever pokemon I fancy

I'm so excited for the release of X and Y! Oddly enough I'm more excited about Froakie than the other starters; I'm usually all about the fire types. And since it's going to launch globally no spoilers from the Japanese games!!!

The fire starter is so cute. I tend to lean more towards them (though I used Bulbasaur in Red and Firered due to him being easier to start with).

I haven't been so excited over a game in years ;_; Chespin's gonna be my starter, and I know for sure that Clauncher will be a team member!

I haven't picked out my starter yet for once. I'm stuck between grass and fire. I'm always stuck between grass and fire. Especially this generation.

 

I'm so excited for this gen. I got my 3ds specifically so I could play X and Y xD
