Future DD Owner :D

Hello! I am a web designer by day and doll lover and sewer of doll fashions by night. My love for dolls and sewing was influenced by my Nanny (affectionate nickname for my grandma). She owns and operates a Doll Hospital and Shop (Wilder's Doll Center) here in Michigan and has been making porcelain dolls and repairing all kinds of dolls for as long as I can remember.

 

I always loved spending time with her at her shop and was amazed by all the wonderful things that she could make. And was fascinated by all the beautiful dolls with so much variety and how one sculpt could be customized to look so many different ways. So when I was introduced to Resin BJDs by my co-worker/friend it wasn't much of a leap to get into collecting dolls. When I started collecting, I just wanted to have models to sew for since sewing is another hobby of mine. But I love them so much they have snowballed. lol. In the just under two years I have been collecting I have managed to acquire or will soon acquire 19 dolls There have been a few others that have come and gone as well since I didn't completely love them.

 

My friend/co-worker also introduced me to DDs and I have always admired the fantastic knack she has for styling them in ways that make them soooo absolutely wonderful! But up until recently I wasn't really a big fan of the anime style faces. I love the big eyes though. But when she got Rise, I thought uh oh I am really liking these girls now. I really like the look of Kos-Mos too. And recently found that two of the new standard heads appeal to me as well.

 

I always thought they were a bit out of my reach though because of the secondary market prices. But with a couple of new head sculpts that I like which are standard, I think that they are more within my reach and I am working on saving for my very first DD.

 

I look forward to getting to know people here as I scrimp and save for my first DD girl.

Oh that sounds really interesting. Do you have a groupshoot of your girls? (I am nosily xD)

And also some excample of your sewing talent? ^^

hahaha, I was just thinking that I need to get a group shot of all my resin kids. I have acquired several new ones in the past several months some that haven't even had any camera time. So hopefully this weekend since that's the only time I can get daylight pics, I will take a long overdue group shot.

Yes, I have rooms for all my girls. And I believe you are right. I think we have conversed on etsy as well about Mori girl stuff which I still plan to get working on. Life got a bit crazy for me for a while but I'm hoping with the new year to get more things done sewing wise and stock my etsy shop better! I have a couple of commissions and a couple of trades to finish then I will be focusing on sewing for my shop.
