Does it stain?

Recommended Posts

PrettyCranium

I figured we could start a "does it stain" thread to leave our experiences.

I'm wondering about the Pastel Plaid suit, which I recently acquired: http://www.volksusa.com/ofkor20100502.html

The suit top is lined, except for the sleeves. I'm wondering if some of the brown and blue stripes stain, since all my body suits are the stocking type that do not cover arms. You can't really use a bodysuit that covers the top with that shirt neckline, either. Does anyone know if you can just buy little tubes to cover the arms or part of the arms?

The skirt isn't lined, but my I would be using a body stocking there.

I'd ideally like to leave it on a doll for a very long time -- maybe Aoko once she arrives.

As far as I know the Pastel Plaid Suit does not stain. That was one of the first ever outfits I got and I left Yuki in it for a good month or two. I didn't see any stains at all on her. Since it's so light in color I figured it would be okay so I didn't do any preventive measures with it. I think the only thing I did was place tape on the Volks labels inside the outfit.

If you have any of your girls wear the shoes that come with the outfit without any stockings and socks I'm pretty sure the gold paint from the Volks logo will rub onto their feet. But the light stain from the paint is easily removed with a quick wipe with a magic eraser.

I can't help you with the After School Date set, I still haven't been lucky enough to get that one.

Bumping to see if anyone has experience with the After School Date set -- Aoko wants to wear it!

Scripple has that outfit, you need to ask him about it. And I also own that first outfit you linked to and it doesn't stain at all. I've had it on several different girls for weeks at a time with no marks or stains.

I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.

Thanks, I'll bug scripple about it Good to know about the second outfit, thanks.

Currently, I'm testing the after school set on Moe's old arm (the one I oversanded). No staining after a day at least.

Update: Still no staining. I have an elastic band wrapped around it to make it extra tight, too. Looks like it might be safe now?

I'd say yes, it should be safe to say it won't stain after that test.

I think it's likely safe, too. I'm always careful, though, since I tend not to change my DDs clothes for months.

I've had it on my Saber Alter for about a month now without any kind of bodystocking. I checked her today out of curiousity - not a spot on her, so this outfit is safe

And to update the After School Date set, no staining after 3? 4? weeks. So I think it's good. This is for the top only, not the skirt.

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but has anybody had experience with aoko aozaki's default set? I'll be adopting her shortly and I expect she'll be in her default set quite a bit. I'm just preparing.

Unhelpful, but I just put Aoko is a Cool Cat full bodysuit before putting on her default. Just to be safe.

For what it's worth, the tights and blouse are not lined.

Actually, That is a pretty good start, I know more now than I did. I *was* wondering if her outfit was lined. I need to get a body stocking anyway. I have a lot of dark clothes that I'm nervous to put on my girls. Thanks!

Thanks for the post on the Sailor Tulle set Archangeli! I was just about to ask about that one (it's on it's way to me right now.) and you beat me to it!

Aoko Aozaki's default outfit *does* stain. It doesn't stain through a Cool Cat bodystocking, but worn bare it will stain your girl. I tested it on my "stain test" body. The turtleneck doesn't stain quickly or deeply, but the tights are a nightmare. Her hands touching the red dress did not seem to stain.

I've got some random quest related to staining. I have Akira's Kitty Magician set. Her top, armbands, and socks were soaked/washed (and while I'm too chicken to use the socks lol) and so far i have had no problems with staining. The thread on her pleather shorts though stained my DDS after a few days but I was able to oxy treat it out 99%. Now that I have her shorts on another body (a DDII that is a bit older so I'm not too concerned about staining right away) I just wonder.. eventually will you get some of these 'stain-monster' items to just not stain anymore?

B/c in theory the thread or fabric will eventually have all the excess dye sucked out by the vinyl right?

For those who may be curious the plaid shirt from the Denim Pleated Jumper Dress Set ~ http://www.volksusa.com/ofkor20110903.html does NOT stain. I've had it on Yoko for almost a whole month now and so far nothing.

Also the denim skirt from the Exciting Pink Down Jacket set ~ http://www.volksusa.com/ofkor20100303.html doesn't seem to stain either. Well so far so good. Yuki has had it on for a whole day and no stains or marks yet.

I'm not surprised that these are safe, since the MDD outfit "Bouncy in a Down Jacket Set" doesn't stain either.

That's good to know if I decide to take the plunge to get a MDD (thinking about it) and track down that outfit.

I just thought I would mention it about that denim skirt because it isn't lined. I read somewhere that some denim things Volks has done equals instant stain. Not sure how true it is since I think I read that when I first started the hobby around 2yrs ago. It could have been more toward the jeans they make. I really can't remember for sure now.
