CocoBliss Posted June 7, 2011 I was wondering can the DDS bust be changed to a larger bust piece? Is it compatible with the DDII-B-02L / Bust? or would I have to wait until the come out with a compatible bust piece for the DDS body? Sorry for all the questions. OtakuDepot Posted June 7, 2011 I'm not 100% sure but I think it needs a separate bust and the busts for DDII wouldn't work. I'm sure Balldylox can shed more light on it for us though since he has a DDS and it's about a 'bust'. CocoBliss Posted June 7, 2011 . I'll see if balldylox has the answer. Wishlist: A Job,DDS Marisa,Reimu,& DDH-
baldylox Posted June 8, 2011 Well, I had no clue about this so I decided to undertake a test. And what do you know... the regular L-bust DOES fit the DDS! Here she is sitting up with it. Now this does have some issues. The L-bust is a little loose on the frame since there is no back plate for support. This leaves gaps in the arm holes: That side wasnt so bad but this side is: It's not bad if you have on clothing tho. But these issues are due to the inner structures of the DDS and the DDII being so different. Here is a pic of the two torsos side by side: As you can see, the DDII has a large cover plate over the skeleton where the DDS does not. Also, the DDS "wings" where the arms go in are movable! They can flex forward or backwards. I did not know this! But the DDS arms are way slimmer than the DDII ones. And the pegs to connect to the body are also different: The DDS arm is on top, DDII on bottom. I hope this helps out for people wondering about differences and bust swaps. CocoBliss Posted June 8, 2011 Awesome baldylox!!! I am glad that it fits. But also sad that it leaves a gaps in the arm and it's little loose. I am still going to purchase it regardless. Maybe I can find a way to modify it somehow. Thank you for testing this out for me. Wishlist: A Job,DDS Marisa,Reimu,& DDH-
mitsuki Posted June 8, 2011 I think it is hilarious that Baldylox is the Bust Expert! Volks said optional parts from DDII would fit DDS, but they didn't elaborate. It is great to see how the bust swap came out! You are so cool, Baldylox!

Is there any word on DDS sales in the US yet (or am I totally off and DDS doesn't stand for Dollfie Dream Sister? )
mitsuki Posted June 8, 2011 They aren't officially for sale through Volks yet, but there are many poor headless Dollfie Dream Sister bodies up for auction on Yahoo! Japan Auctions. I am wondering if they might come out at the next Dollfie Dream Gathering to be held this October. I am surprised Volks hasn't released more DDS characters. They may end up holding back the official standard release of the body.
OtakuDepot Posted June 8, 2011 I was really impressed that the bust works out so well on the DDS frame. I don't think Billy minds me saying he also tried the DDdy bust on the DDS but that was not working out. Not only would I like to see the DDS body as a stand alone body but I would love to see these features be brought over into the regular bodies. I guess they would be the DDIII and the DDdyII? My one fear though if they did that is I'd be tempted to upgrade all my girls to the new body. Wonder how much that would cost. I hope Volks releases a white skin DDS body. I have an idea for a new character, and I'd love to use the DDS body for her, but I want to use the white DDH-02... baldylox Posted June 8, 2011 I was really impressed that the bust works out so well on the DDS frame. I don't think Billy minds me saying he also tried the DDdy bust on the DDS but that was not working out. Nah I don't mind at all you mentioning I tried the DDdy bust. The DDS was all apart and I have a spare DDdy bust so I figured why not see what happens? It was terrible looking tho. Since the bottom of the bust is cut way higher than the normal M or L busts are, there were huge gaps along the bottom. Also, the arm holes didn't line up as well and they were WAY too deep to fit the pegs into the holes. So no way would you be able to do a DDdy bust of any sort on the DDS frame. Having Mamimi apart like this for the first time really showed me how different the DDS is compared to the regular DDII. The DDS is so much slimmer and streamlined. The arms and legs are thinner, the tummy and hips are thinner and the bust is smaller than the M-bust too. But I have an extra M-bust here... I'm thinking I may upgrade Mamimi to that and see what she looks like. She sure seemed to enjoy having Miyuki's chest for these pics.... I could see that being Manami's sister means that plushies are kind of important, even to the straightlaced and shy Mamimi. And Mitsuki, I also found it funny that I have somehow become the "bust" expert all of a sudden. Jun97, Otakudepot and I were all in a chat last night when I saw this topic here. So I was busy doing all these tests while those two were chatting away about me being crazy and the ecchi sensei. Those two are quite silly if you ask me. And Cocobliss, it's not like like the L-bust was horribly loose on the DDS frame, it was just not as secure feeling as it is on the DDII. It may not bother you at all. And the arm holes may be able to be adjusted better with more time. This was just a quick little test I did. So hopefully yours will work fine. I'm glad I did these pics now. Poor Mamimi was a little shy about it at first but you can tell she is Manami's sister by the end. Little show off.... Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop. CocoBliss Posted June 8, 2011 That's great. So I can be able to fiddle around with it a bit. This is good to know. And I agree with Mitsuki, You are an expert!
