Volks USA inventory availability

Hello again people. I'm thinking of buying a pre-painted head from yahoo japan and buying DDIII parts from Volks USA to build a body for the head.

 

Do volks usually have parts in stock? I've heard people mentioning things being out of stock in their store for a long time, or issues where something might appear in stock when they check out but turn out to be out of stock when the order's processed. How are your experience with buying from them? Would it be easier if I try to buy a body from yahoo japan as well?

For the most part if you can put it in your cart, they have it. Only once out of a lot of orders that i made was something not available, and they contacted me about it before sending anything out.

 

If your on a budget you may wanna consider getting the complete DDII base Body instead as its about $140 less then putting a DDIII together from parts. And its listed as in stock at the moment while I think the arms for the DDIII are not.

There was also a dynamite body in stock for a little bit more. Not sure if they still have the DDII body in stock or if it was just the one on display.

I bought all the parts I needed for the DDIII in December except for the feet and arms. I ended up getting the feet through Volks international and am still waiting for the arms. I was told end of Jan.-Feb. when I emailed them. However, it should be noted that volks usa tends to not give very accurate wait times. I've had them tell me that something would be restocked in the next month, and waited twice that long before they restocked. I've also have them tell me they don't know when x will be restocked only to have it show up two days later. I think their inventory varies a lot due to cancelled orders and shipping from their parent company.

 

I'd e-mail them to check, but be aware that you're usually better off buying what they have in stock.

I almost got a head last week but some crazy person showed up at the last moment and outbid the head I wanted for 45000 yen
