Sakura Kinomoto - Cardcaptor Sakura DD

I've been a huge fan of Cardcaptor Sakura (or cardcaptors in the US) since I was a little girl. I would come home from school every day and watch it religiously. It was the first anime I ever watched. I loved Sakura and wanted to BE her. I love her outfits and how adorable she is, even as an adult.

To pay homage to my childhood, I want to make a Sakura doll.

Step 1: Picking a head!

 

 

 

While I like the option 1 Akane head because I like that it's a bit more versatile, Option 2 Moe looks a lot more like the style of mouth in the anime. If anyone else has suggestions, I'd be happy to hear them!

 

I'll be doing all the faceuping and clothing making myself so when I start with that stuff I'll update this thread.

Nice! Wig will probably be tricky, just to keep the wefts from showing when you foof up the bangs, but maybe you can find a wig company with matching extensions to fill in the gaps? Just a thought.

 

Personally, I'd go with the Akane head--the mouth shape is happier, matching better with what I know of Sakura, and the eye shape is also much closer. Do you know which body you're going to put her on yet? (MDD vs Obitsu 40 vs Obitsu 48 vs SQ SG)

I was thinking DDS if I can get my hands on one but until that time, she'll be on a regular DD body. I don't like the look of obitsu's bodies as much as DDS even if it would probably be more age appropriate. Plus, if she were obitsu, she'd be off-topic u_u;; Maybe just change her out for an S bust?

I like the "Akane" head better then "Moe". Sakura is happy go-lucky, and I think "Akane" gives off that feeling 100%. I wish you lots of luck on this project~

What about the Miyuki head from SQ labs?

I have her and the expression looks a lot like Sakura. I just painted the mouth corners dark to be more smiley

I agree. She seems quite close to Sakura. Such a pretty smile.
