Question about the Dollfie Dream Sister

Recommended Posts

mayaiincho

I've been looking into getting a DDS for a while after reading that it has the best ability of the DD for poseability. After reading the Dollfie Dream internal frame structure and Dimensions thread for quite a bit looking for the pieces i'd require to build her. From what i've seen and what i've read so far, she does not have a internal skeleton structure does she? So if I were to purchase the:

Waist

Thighs

Bust

Shins

Arms

Feet

Upper Torso Internal Frame

I noticed that the DDS flickr photo states Internal Frame Included but the main Volks site doesn't mention it in their item listing nor from what i've read in the description too. What should i be aware of before purchasing each of the parts?

Thanks, Maya

The pieces each contain part of the internal skeleton. That's how they lock together when you assemble them.

I don't think there's any significant posing difference between the DDS and the DDIII, is there? Am I missing something? I own both and I haven't noticed any posing difference between the two...?

There's no difference in posability on the DDS and DD3. It seems that the older literature online touted the DDS as being superior in posing to the older DDII and DDdy bodies, which it was. But the DDS is actually a go-between of sorts for the DDII and DD3 bodies. Think of it as a prototype or work in progress for the DD3 body. Once they got most of the kinks worked out ( MOST not ALL ha ha! ) they started with the DD3 bodies. As we all see, they still had issues with strength and cracking issues but overall it was a big step for the DD bodies.

So the DDS and DD3 are basically the same body with the DDS being a bit shorter. Posability is basically identical between them.

Thanks a bunch for the responses. But also another question though rather unrelated to my OP.

The DDdy doll, does this one also use a skeletal frame?

Yep! *ALL* DD girls whether they are MDD, MDD3, DDII, DD3, DDS, DDdy or DDdy3 have internal plastic skeletons. The only DD's that don't have internal skeletons are the very first DDI bodies. Those were strung like a resin doll but had vinyl bodies.

The original DDdy bodies were sold as a one piece body, already put together and ready to add a head. The new DDdy3 bodies are sold in parts just like all the newer 3 series ones. So you have to buy all the parts and put her together yourself, which isn't hard at all.

I hope that helps you!
