jadepixel Posted January 29, 2014 Dunno if this book might help with drafting the pants... http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/85011.How_to_Make_Sewing_Patterns I have that book! It's actually written with doll pattern-making in mind. I haven't sewn many human-scale garments so it was very helpful to see the basic shapes and pieces for different clothing styles. jadepixel doll lab jadepixel eye shop

katnaper Posted January 30, 2014 Dunno if this book might help with drafting the pants... http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/85011.How_to_Make_Sewing_Patterns I have that book! It's actually written with doll pattern-making in mind. I haven't sewn many human-scale garments so it was very helpful to see the basic shapes and pieces for different clothing styles. I have it but had only browsed through it. I didn't realise it was made with dolls in mind. I have yet to create a pattern from it so I didn't know. Really must put that on the top of my to do list since I have 13 more DD clothes to go and I haven't drafted a pattern for the DDDy body just the medium bust. We have our own BLOG. Please visit us at the House of Nyan by clicking this link or our sig above. See you there. Or, come see what Nyanko-sensei is up to at the Katnaper's Den
jadepixel Posted January 30, 2014 Hmmm I will take a look thanks for the link! Jadepixel - Do you mean it's smaller (doll) sized pieces to give you an idea of the shape for human size patterns? Well, I was trying to draft patterns for my dolls without any real clothes-making experience. So basically the book helped me to avoid re-inventing the wheel, as they say I did have some other DD-sized shirt and pants patterns but the results I got were bad, since I didn't understand the instructions (or rather, the instructions assumed you knew how to sew a basic shirt and pants already). Seeing everything laid out in the book gave me a better grasp of the way patterns fit together. jadepixel doll lab jadepixel eye shop
