SakuraSylph Posted January 28, 2013 The latest quarterly issue of Volks News is due out very soon; the first week in February to be exact. That means people could possibly have it as early as this Friday, but most likely you can expect to see pictures popping up sometime next week as the copies start to arrive to folks here in Japan. I expect we will get reveals for: the February collection, the clothes and dolls for the Osaka Dolls Party in March, and possibly also the clothes and dolls for the Tokyo Dolpa 29 in April. It should be packed with things to look forward to. I'll be getting a copy of course, but I expect mine to come in around the middle of the month since it's home delivery, so I likely will not be the first one with news. I'm curious to see how many of these predictions are correct! SakuraSylph

Poofiemus Posted January 28, 2013 Same! I'm hoping for an epic outfit or two (bonus points if there's something Edwardian/Victorian/steampunk that'll fit Agatha), but for none of the dolls to turn into unicorns. In this household, sanity is considered a tresspasser.

The following concerns Volks News Vol. 52! We will begin distributing issues to points-level members at the checkout counter in-store on February 10th (Sunday). This volume is chock full of Volks-related info! Members can pick up their issues free of charge. Also, we'll begin shipping these to our VS/VIP-level members on February 9th (Saturday), so those of you in Hokkaido might have to be a little extra patient for their arrival at your home. glassjaw Posted January 30, 2013 How can you become a VIP member of Volks? Spend certain amount money on their products? What are the benefits as a VIP member? VIP Volks, Eh? you have to drive a Volkswagen. pffft Its easy we only have a special log-in page and a hidden forum to suggest an after market price for limited dolls. and also the lottery is actually all a scam! for non members ehehehe
SakuraSylph Posted January 30, 2013 How can you become a VIP member of Volks? What are the benefits as a VIP member? You must have a Japanese address and Japanese phone number, and once you do you can sign up for any of Volks' programs. A hotel address and phone number will probably work if you're in Japan as a tourist (I think baldylox did this). To become a member, the easiest way is to visit a store and tell the shop clerk that you want to join. There are three levels, and here are the benefits. Points Member: Free to join. 1pt earned per 100yen spent. Eligible to pick up Volks News in store for free. Volks Supporter (VS) Member: Costs Y1050/year. 3pt earned per 100yen if paying with credit card or 5pt earned per 100yen if paying with cash. Volks News can be picked up in-store or mailed to your home for free, your choice, but you of course get just one copy per issue. And of course we can't forget, access to VS/VIP members-only items. VIP Member: Free to join, but must get approved for the Volks UPty credit card. Which means you must also have a Japanese bank account from which to pay the card and a credit history in the Japanese financial system. You get 5pt per Y100 when paying with UPty card, but otherwise the benefits are the exact same as VS. Thus you always see exclusives written for VS/VIP members. American Tenshi no Sumika in LA card: Gets a smile from the clerk because of the cute doll on it, but otherwise has no effect in Japanese stores. Seems to have no effect in the US store either come to think of it, beyond your member number making it quicker for the Volks LA personnel to process your order. ^_^; SakuraSylph

Be even better if you could use the points that you collect with the card to go toward free shipping on an order.
smallpotato Posted January 30, 2013 Hi SakuraSylph, Thank you very much for the explanation. Since most Volks stuffs are very expensive, it will be very easy to acbleepulate many points to exchange free stuffs. Too bad, Volks USA card has no function at all. I wonder why they made one for everyone.
baldylox Posted January 30, 2013 A hotel address and phone number will probably work if you're in Japan as a tourist (I think baldylox did this). Yep, I did just that. When I went to Volks for the first time they asked me if I wanted to be a member because I was spending close to 59000 yen there on my first run. I was like why not? Can't hurt anything. Points Member: Free to join. 1pt earned per 100yen spent. Eligible to pick up Volks News in store for free. Yes to this too. They gave me a Volks 40 issue when I was there in Osaka and I also got 2 more of them when I was in the Akihabara and Shinjuku stores. All I had to do was show them my card and they handed me the book and added points to it. I used the points I accrued in my last stop to get a few sets of stockings and undies. Be even better if you could use the points that you collect with the card to go toward free shipping on an order. Yeah, exactly! Why even issue these cards if you do NOTHING with them? I think it's a ploy to make us feel like we're special or something. DA has a great idea on the shipping bit. Allow us to get points for money spent and then use that money towards shipping or actual product discounts! If they ever revamped their horrible checkout setup, they could easily add a spot to input your card number and see what points you have and then be able to apply them to that order. Wouldn't THAT be cool? Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.
smallpotato Posted January 30, 2013 Lucky you Can you use your VIP card when you order stuffs from Volks international website? If so, will they make deduction on your total price? Or send you some free stuffs to your US address? A hotel address and phone number will probably work if you're in Japan as a tourist (I think baldylox did this). Yep, I did just that. DJStarstryker Posted February 1, 2013 Wonder if we'll finally see more of that Asuna doll in this issue? I really feel like she's going to come out at either the Osaka Dolpa or the Tokyo Dolpa this spring. Are you ready to rock? ^_^
MarietteMacaron Posted February 1, 2013 Wonder if we'll finally see more of that Asuna doll in this issue? I really feel like she's going to come out at either the Osaka Dolpa or the Tokyo Dolpa this spring. Asuna X Kurohime? Doubt it but be really cool since they are from both from the same author and both were popular series. Kurohime would give a good opportunity for the single torso as well.....And she have wings.
