Jezrah Posted February 1, 2013 I like her hat design. Did you crochet it yourself? I tried crocheting a hat once but the top turned out funny.

katnaper Posted February 2, 2013 I like her hat design. Did you crochet it yourself? I tried crocheting a hat once but the top turned out funny. Thanks. I found the pattern in Ravelry.com, a site PrettyCranium recommended. Its got tons of patterns and and links. I learned to do the puff stitch there but the yarn I used in Reese's hat is too heavy but I figured, what they hay, might as well finish it. Am trying to make another one this time with softer yarn like the ones used for baby afghans to see what that would be like (I had some available). Would love to learn to knit but never did get the hang of it. Will be trying knooking as soon as I find a knooking needle or make one. Kyaaa she is so cute with woof ^^ Thank you. Yeah, I'm learning to knit from a local knitting circle that I met through my doll group, and I'm constantly looking for really thin soft yarns. Even light weight yarn can look like a bulky weight on a doll. Crocheting goes faster and uses less yarn than knitting, but in knitting you only ever need to learn two stitch types. Pluses and minuses. I don't know anyone personally that knows how to knook, but it seems interesting.

I don't know anyone personally that knows how to knook, but it seems interesting. I only learned to crochet from my Mom and she learned it from her Grandmother (lots of doilies and curtains with elaborate designs) but I never really learned to read patterns so stuff I make is pretty simple. And I still often forget how to do the different stitches which is why I wanted to learn to knit but could never do it just from videos. I really need someone to literally watch me and tell me what I'm doing wrong. LOL. And I usually learn faster that way and if I could watch them in person. Dunno why. Knooking seems easier for me as it just involves one needle and I feel like I'm just crocheting. We'll see till I get an actual knooking needle though. We have our own BLOG. PrettyCranium Posted February 2, 2013 Great hat and scarf! I'm glad that you were able to find the patterns on Ravelry. That place is addicting. For the DD sweaters I have knit, I used lace weight yarn and tiny needles. Knitpicks is a good internet source of lace weight if you are looking for it. I love ravelry. I'll send you a friend request, and you can look at my completed projects to see what I've done. Revelry can be a time suck though . . . Have you discovered all the groups? I spend too much time reading "Remrants" and less time actually knitting!
Ravendruid Posted February 3, 2013 MY mom crochets, SK knits, both have tried to teach me, but I am a slot cause, I think, but I do still like to spend time on Ravelry looking at the patterns. I'm very impressed with yours, though. That hat is incredibly cute! A neat design, and the color works really well for her and for the photos. The scarf is also lovely! She looks nice and cozy. Aww, thank you kind Sir. I'm still a noob since I can really only do simple patterns. I can't for the love of mike, decipher the more complicated ones. I also have no patience. I'm trying to take advantage of my current interest in crocheting to learn as much as I could since I'm well known ofr losing interest in things fairly quickly. Except for DDs and figures of course. Not yet but I will look forward to exploring and seeing the things you made I also know what you mean by loosing one's self looking at all the pictures and reading stuff... LOL. I do that here too.
