The Customization Experience 4 - DD Hime 02

Hello there!

 

I worked for my friend Amara77 on her DD 02 head.

The head was in very bad conditions: she had a very messy face-up, all chipped too.

She asked me to clean her head and to do her like a little princess (>A<)7

And following her guidelines, below you see the new 02!

That's such a huge transformation. I'm always surprised anew how the same mold can look with a different face-up. Sort reminds me of these before and after make-up shows. Good job!

Thank you! Honestly I didn't like 02 at fist, either... but I had so much fun working on her, because I could really do whetever I wanted, with her! and, in the end, I enjoyed the doll who came out, regardless her tsundere mold ( ^ u^)v

I liked her previous style, she was cute for sure. But as you said, she was a little less detailed in her painting. But your redo is amazing. She looks totally different now and so much happier! Excellent job!

I wasn't sure about 02 myself but after getting her she grew on me a lot! All of the basic sculpts have strong points if you see them in person

Amara77 sent me a close up of how the head was before my redo, I attached it here.

It's not a matter of me liking the previous face-up or not, though, basically it was in very bad conditions, the sealant was shiny, blackened and chipped in various parts. Also, the eyebrows were done with strange acrylics and weren't well sealaed, so I was scared of them having stained the head. >.<

I agree that now she looks happier, anyway! I didn't expect Rise's eyes fitting her face so good!

I never liked the basic sculpts (except for 03, who I have, painted like Another Blood, and the 07), but when I got 01 and 02 in my hands I had to change my mind! now let's wait for the other molds to do the same on me! ahah

I think my disinterest in the 02 head has a lot to do with not really seeing her in dramatically different faceups. Mostly she just seems to be the grouchy pouty girl and I personally don't deal well with that personally. I hope more people make their 02s look like the one you did.

 

Doing something different with a sculpt isn't easy, I found that out with Tama. For a long time I wasn't sure if he would ever look like he did in my head. With him being a boy, the big lavish lashes simply wouldn't work, but he also has no lower lash lines either. Blushing his face helped give it more dimension, and blushing his lips was the only way to not make him look like a girl wearing lipstick or lip gloss. His Eyebrows really are the single thing that make him as expressive as he is. For a sculpt that was always thought of as sad, I love how he looks so happy and in awe of the whole world.

 

It drove me nuts that the 02 was the only standard sculpt that I didn't have a use for, but now I'm happy that she can be so stunning!
