shinegamix Posted January 31, 2013 Hi wonder if there was someone out there that have already tested any threads and found a brand or type that will not rub off on my girls making my triumphant return
DominiqueB Posted February 4, 2013 I don't think that any thread is 100% safe but I would use Gutermann thread. It's a good polyester thread, I've never had it bleed on any garment I've sewn it with. I'ts a little bit more expensive than other brands but it never breaks when you are sewing.
Poofiemus Posted February 4, 2013 I've had good luck with polyester thread (or in one case, "polyester-covered polyester"). The black polyester fabric I've used in a few outfits has been stain-free too. I would still recommend testing even polyester stuff on a spare hand for good measure, but polyester's track record for me personally has been quite good. In this household, sanity is considered a tresspasser.
Jezrah Posted February 4, 2013 I second Gutermann, its what I use as well. Very high quality, though a little more expensive. If you don't have that brand (I don't remember where you live) try to find similar high quality polyester thread. You can tell because it looks finer and shinier. DivinitaAria Posted February 5, 2013 I use Gutterman or Coats and Clark. Gutterman for cotton thread and C&C for polyester. Both are fine. Don't know about staining though.
