More on Male DDs - Pics of what DD look like in a boy's wig.

We've all seen juu-yuuki's Kirito and all the lovely 07's as boys and we've discussed which heads we think would make a good male DD but I wanted to see what the rest of the heads looked like as boys so I started playing around with GIMP here is what I came up with. You can click on the photos to take you to a bigger picture. Since I can't and don't have them all, I decided to tinker around with their photos and put a male type wig on them. The photos are from Mandarake's DD ads and the wig is Crobidoll's.

 

So what do you all think? Who, aside from Lily (yay for Kirito!) looks good as a boy? I didn't think Lucy would work but for some reason, for me she'd make an okay boy. Also Fate, Rina, Asuka and MDD Maria, even though Rina is quite Bishi.

 

Cirno would be really cute for a young (>12 years old) boy.

 

Some of those look not bad at all. Some of those are way too feminine looking. Like Milhi.

I agree so far, I also vote for Cirno as a young boy and Rina isn't bad as a bishi. I think although that picture looks funny because the head is tilted down that Rin looks pretty good as a boy. And the Feena/Estel/Erika head isn't bad either.

 

OTOH, Yui looks hilarious. I don't know what it is about that wig since the color is all wrong, but she reminds me of a human MLP.

I'm actually really surprised that Rise looks so girly in a boy wig.

 

For us noobs who can't recognize head sculpts on sight, can you label the photos with the sculpt name? I think a few of those make good boys but I have no idea what mold they are. >.>

Cirno, Asuka, The one on the left of Yuki Nagato, Yui looks pretty adorable as a boy Possibly on the right of Yui.

 

I think they could all make a different male personality

Other than 07 and Saber, I think Rin and Mari look excellent as boys.

This is neat to see! Some of them are really promising (Cirno makes a a cute boy!)

 

I put a short (fur) wig on my 06, and she still totally looked like a girl ^_^; Changing the faceups would make a big difference, I think.

Boy Yui... I knew that the "Elizabeth" sculpt (Thanks Baldylox! XD ) was adorable before, but now I can totally see 'him' as one of Tama's friends. Of course he would have to be named Eddie.

Despite what you think, I really do try hard to keep myself under control. If you like I can take a few days and make sure I say everything that goes through my head about DD without filtering it. Think of a motormouth Tamayuki on two energy drinks when he is really happy and excited. You'd want to shoot me with a tranquilizer gun.

Actually I had seen it but somehow got distracted before I finished writing my post. It happens more often than you might think, it's just the first time it's been pointed out. Is Rin the same sculpt as the 05? I can't remember for the life of me but they at least look similar. The pictures kinda confused me until I realized that no standard heads are there. And as for Fate... omg I can't quit cracking up at the one eye. It just looks so weird!

I think that the various Saber sculpts make the best boys. But we already knew that thanks to Kirito, heehee.

I think all the Saber's make lovely boys. I like Crino as a mischievous MDD Boy too.

Asuka would make a cute boy, I just couldn't figure out what kind of personality he would have.

 

As for Yui (MDD Eddie) Raven and I were talking and I realized that he would be that super adorable but annoying little boy from next door who wouldn't go home. Conversation in my head:

 

Eddie: "Do you have any peanut butter and jelly? I like peanut butter and jelly. My mom won't let me eat it because she says it's bad for me."

 

Tamayuki: "I think we might if my Daddy didn't eat all the peanut butter again."

 

Eddie: "I'm really hungry. Do you have any peanut butter and jelly sandwiches?"

 

Tamayuki: * sighs a little* "I think I could make you a little one."

 

*a little while later*

 

Eddie: "I think bananas are my favorite fruit. Do you like bananas?"

 

Tamayuki: "Sometimes, yah."

 

Eddie: "My big brother showed me how to blow up a banana in the microwave. We wanted to do another one but we had to run when my mom started yelling at the smell. I'm feeling kinda hungry. Do you have any bananas?"

 

Tamayuki: *getting worn down by Eddie's incessant chatter* "No, we don't have any bananas. I can get you some water if you want."

 

Eddie: "Do you like cars? I like cars a lot. They have little wheels and everything. I used to have a lot of toy cars but they got lost in our backyard. I think they are in the mud where my mom's garden used to be. My dad ran over one last week and he was really mad when it broke the lawnmower. Its ok though because it wasn't one of my new cars. They all had broken wheels and stuff."

 

Tamayuki: *mutters to himself* "Maybe they wouldn't be broken and everything if you didn't break them. Even Dolly doesn't want you to see Truck."

 

Eddie: "You really like drawing a lot. Do you have any other toys to play with? Drawing isn't very fun. Especially when the crayons break all the time."

 

Tamayuki: *makes a grumpy face as he tries to ignore Eddie* "I like drawing. I'm not very good at it but if I practice really hard I can grow up and draw cute animal pictures. You could go ask Yuriko what she's watching on TV or she might be playing a video game."

 

*Eddie wanders off to irritate Yuriko until she passes him off to someone else*

 

This just cracks me up. Raven pointed out that he would be the young moe version of Eddie Haskell from Leave it to Beaver. Everyone would keep passing him off to the next person who would tolerate him, never realizing that he almost never went home. And then that big brother of his seems like he would be a smexy rebellious type. Who could look very much like a Kaylus type...

 

At least both Raven and I agree that Eddie has to be added to our eventual list.

Raven's wallet is probably not liking me very much right now. Glad to know that another boy got added to your list.

I'm starting to wonder if I'm going to end up with an MDD boy army. And here I thought when I got Tamayuki that he was going to be a little shy boy with no friends except Dolly. He still has the tendency to be shy, until he gets to know someone. That makes 4 MDD boys (not including Tama-chan) that are circulating through my head now...

 

As for Raven, at least he's looking forward to seeing the DD/MDD when I do get done with them. After the current works in progress are finished I hope to slow down so I can actually work on their clothes and their stories. But Kos-Mos won't get here until late in the year so...

I was redressing one of my resin boys so I put his new wig on Nana (ore-painted 07) just for kicks.

 

She makes a pretty bishijou, though obviously the eyelashes in the faceup don't work!

 

 

I'm still not convinced on the whole topic of male DD's, but meh, it's my opinion and for the most part I keep it to myself. Show me a well done male DD custom and I'll change my mind. (It's kind of like fur wigs... Show me one that looks good and I'll gladly admit it. But yeah... )

 

Anyways, this is the Airy Wolf wig from Volks. I have to say it's my favourite wig that I've ever handled! I took it out of the box, gave it a shake and put it on and it looked awesome.

I agree with you. I'm completely content with just the girls I bond better with them anyway.

 

If I were to get a male for my girls, then I'd get a Volks Kanata or a Crobidoll boy. Those are my favorite!
