Worldwide Dollfie Dream Photobook Project

Photo submissions have been opened for the Worldwide Dollfie Dream Photobook, a fan project with the explicit approval of Volks Japan. The goal seems to be as it sounds, to make a book featuring DD owner photos from around the world, with roughly equal representation of countries. Submissions will be accepted through 31 May and will be judged by Volks, according to the organizers.

This sounds like an interesting project ^__^.

 

What I don't fully understand though is, will the submitters of the photos be credited in any way in that book?

The rules aren't really clear. I'd like to join in the project, but I haven't understood:

How many dolls can you picture?

How do they choose the pics?

If you are chosen, How many pics do they choose from yours, and how many for each country?

Well, according to the rules.. Each person can submit up to six pictures of their favorite doll. About 100 dolls will be featured in the book. Volks JP will choose what pictures go in.

 

I assume you will be credited, since if you look on the submission page you have to give your name, nationality, doll name, original DD sculpt, and other information along with the pictures. It does not currently say specifically what will happen.

 

If the submission deadline is four months from now, that is a lot of lead time. The final details about credits, number of pictures, etc probably are not finalized right now. Wouldn't you think they'd need to see what all pictures they get, then decide how it would look best together?

Ok so you can choose up to 6, thank you for the info. But has it to be 6 pictures of the same doll or not?

Apparently any hosting service will do. Flickr, dropbox, your own web site.. You submit by giving them a URL of the picture it looks like.

Even on the Volks USA blog, they state that they do not want pictures submitted with other company body pieces. I know this because I've been wanting to send them pics of Tamayuki but I can't unless I put the sanded S bust back on him. Everything else about him is from Volks, even his current outfit.

 

So I can't imagine the photo submissions would be any different, meaning that it's pretty safe to bet that a Volks/Obitsu cross would not be allowed.

Who to pick? >_

You can send pics of only one of your girls but as far as I know Italian collectors mostly have dolls like Beatrice, Manaka and Mai Shiranui. What if, for a strange casuality, they all send the same doll pics?

 

Are custom make-up/custom built DDs allowed?

Like my Melissa (Neris) and May (Mai on MDD)?

hmmm... I might ask my photo-pro friend to help me take pictures.. XD

surely they wouldn't disqualify someone for having a non volks wig right? (b/c volks wigs don't come in a lot of colors/styles)
