battrastard Posted February 10, 2013 Both of my kiddos are on the DDII frame, and when I normally use the "hidden" elbow joint, I push it back in when not needed.. (I think the DDIII elbow looks stranger than an Obitsu elbow, but that's just me!) I think if I go for another body, I'll look into a 50cm (or MDD?) of whatever type for a certain look in my next story... (head first.... ) "Madness takes it's toll, Please have exact change!" PlasticFantastic Posted February 12, 2013 I'm a little old school, I prefer the DDII bodies despite their more limited range of motion. I do like DDS but they're SO skinny... >_< DDIII only works on some girls, right now my Yuki is on the DDIII with S bust, it' the only DDIII I own... My girls speak volumes for which bodies I prefer: DDII: 10 DDdy: 4 DDS: 2 MDD: 1 MDDIII: 1 DDIII: 1 DDdyIII: 1 Please visit my YouTube channel for helpful DD tips, tutorials, and reviews! SisterKyoya Posted February 16, 2013 I think if I go for another body, I'll look into a 50cm (or MDD?) of whatever type for a certain look in my next story... (head first.... ) In case you wanted some help, here is Tamayuki (MDD 03 head) on an Obitsu 45cm body and Rainie (DD 01 head) on an MDD body: Obitsu also has the 40cm body as well if you want a slightly shorter (more MDD?) size. As for the DDII body issue, Yuriko is on a DDII and Naiomi is a DDS and I really prefer her shape a lot more. The added flexibility between the two is a huge difference. Not being able to sit at a 90 degree angle is severely aggravating, and I know even Raven as patient and tolerant as he is gets frustrated that Yuriko can't touch her face easily. We plan on eventually getting her a DDIII body. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram
Guy9394 Posted February 16, 2013 For display purposes I would prefer DDIII because it is taller. It is more flexible when posing while laying down or sitting. However, it feels too simple to be that expensive and I didn't get the "finished product" sturdy feel of DDII when holding it. To be honest, I never liked the legs of DD II or III especially the side view (why would the thighs get smaller near hip area?). Also, DD III's hip looks bulky on the area above the pelvis instead of naturally curved (concave up too much [second derivative a bit too high]). I'm starting to like the DDS parts. Don't have a DDS yet and going to get one soon. Maybe someday I'll swap most of them with DDS torso and thighs. There are a lot of room for improvement for the DD body. A lot of recent figures made significant improvements in the hip and shoulder areas.

I'm just a bit put off by how small Tana's head looks on the DDII, compared to Maiko on the same body, so I've been thinking of a more proportional size for her. I did think of a DDS body, but after seeing animagic4u's Haruka on an Obitsu, with so much flexibility, I'm thinking that's the way to go.. (Oh, geeze, more clothes!!) Nanoza Posted February 16, 2013 The ddII can do the traditional japanese sitting pose. DDIII can't. The legs actually wont bend that far for some reason. For display purposes I would prefer DDIII because it is taller. It is more flexible when posing while laying down or sitting. However, it feels too simple to be that expensive and I didn't get the "finished product" sturdy feel of DDII when holding it. There are a lot of room for improvement for the DD body. The DDIII feels as if it is not finished and is extremely delicate, compared to the hardy DDII body. The DDIII body has an odd gap in-between the thighs! It just looks wrong. DDII has an almost unnoticeable gap. And what about those cracks that can`t be fixed? On the arms for example. I'm a little old school, I prefer the DDII bodies despite their more limited range of motion. I do like DDS but they're SO skinny... >_< I am glad someone agrees! High five! SisterKyoya Posted February 16, 2013 Tama-chan looks good on that! I did think of a DDS body, but after seeing animagic4u's Haruka on an Obitsu, with so much flexibility, I'm thinking that's the way to go.. (Oh, geeze, more clothes!!) I agree that it's a pretty good body, just not for Tama. I had him on it for about two weeks and I have very few pictures. It just weirded me out because he looked stretched. The sleeves on his Volks shirt were too short, all the clothes I made him looked weird, including his yukata, in the pic I posted even his pants are too short. Most of all Tama was very upset that his 'pixie shoes' I made him no longer fit. I was upset because his hands looked so very different, and the chubby hands and feet play a significant part in his cuteness to me. Plus he's supposed to be short. Luckily Rainie likes the body and she finally looks the size she should. She was adorable on the MDD, but it just made her look too young, especially when she is supposed to be a year or so older than Tama. Here they are on their proper bodies (for comparison.) With the Obitsu magnetic feet, Rainie can also do action poses, something that reserved Tama-chan would never do. When I got Naiomi's DDS body, I was surprised at how small of a height difference there was compared to the DDII. After she got her high heel boots, she's actually taller than Yuriko now. It would be better (in my opinion) if the DDS was 2 inches shorter than the DD, making her more of a proper sister height if the DD is supposed to be around 20 years old. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram
