Danny Choo Mirai Suenaga doll [NSFW] nude doll bits

Volks had a similar project once. It was called RoboFie. It was a Gundam like robot which also contain the necessary motors and electronics to make it move around. I don't see anything on their site about it anymore, they must have abandoned it.

I don't think robots or AI will ever become real intelligence, but will always be simulated intelligence, along the lines of "philosophical zombies". But the TV show is thought provoking and issues it raises can be applied to "other" people too.

My take on all this is that the first few Ver. will be where they just get the thing to work, followed by rounds of refinement. I suspect in 3 to 5 years the Ver.X Smart Doll will be very tight in it's design, and be loaded with software features.. I just hope they leave a port or two for custom hacking.

One of the things that torque me off is bot's like the i-Sobot, Sony's Eibo dog (sp), and even those hated Furbys is that they are a closed platform. You have no option to add in upgrades, software patches, or weapons platforms.

I like to tinker, even if it's just to program the doll to swear like a drunken sailor at inappropriate moments..

 

I'm interested in the Smart Doll, but I'm also considering getting the standard Mirai 60cm depending on the cost...

The Manual version of Smart Doll will be ready this month but before I release it onto the market I want to QA the product for a couple of months first. The price for the Manual version will be similar to other 60cm tall vinyl dolls on the market.

 

The Manual version means that its powered by your imagination and not electricity ^^;

The frame of the Manual version is made of a incredibly durable Polyoxymethylene frame.

The first model is Smart Doll 001 : Mirai Suenaga and will be out as early as March 2014.

 

Have to admit that I'm pretty excited about this. I'd love to own a Mirai ^___^

I was hoping she'd be a bit less expensive than equivalent 60cm dolls, oh well. I'm pretty curious about posability and compatibility with DD parts! Hope we get more info soon.

I really want one of these girls, such a fun idea I really like both of the sculpts he's shown so far too, how amazing would it be to have a whole bunch of little robot girls to freak out visitors hahaha.

Price sounds really good, so much better than Volks. I hope they will have lots of alternative outfits available as Danny's dolls look really cool.

If the Mirai manual doll sells for about $500, I'd get one for sure. And if he were to make outfits for them, I'd PRAY for the maid set! I'd probably kill someone for one of those..... seriously.

Hmmm, xe.com says about $576 USD. If that's the price for a nude girl, I might be a little shy about purchasing... but if that's for a full set, that would seem very reasonable.

Since Mirai is a specific character, I hope he releases her in fullset From various things he said, that's what it sounds like he'll do.

Muu, but I am super excited. I don't know if I should buy Manual Mirai just in case I can't get Automatic Mirai later, or just save as much as possible for Automatic. But she'll be soo cute! I hope there's a "dress me!" mode, where she puts her arms up in the air to make it easier to put shirts on her. She'll definitely need stuff with Velcro on the back though, if her head houses the CPU, it sounds like it'll be tricky to get it off.

Coco, that was awesome. Its not like it was new info for me, but I find it really fun seeing a fellow collector stick on their 'grownup hat' and talk about hobby related stuff.

 

Since the Mirai doll is so similar to DD, Raven and I are doomed to get at least two of the automatic ones, and if they have more body types than that, I'll have to get manual versions of those to make sure I have all the right body sizes for making clothes for Naiomi's Closet. I never had so much fun making doll clothes until I had DD, and adding more DD/Obitsu/DannyDolls/Resins doesn't seem to diminish that at all, and merely seems to perpetuate it. My biggest wish is that Danny makes the boy (I forgot his name again...) How I would just love an autimatic version of him. Dang it, now I have Coin Operated Boy stuck in my head...

Filling them with electronics and servers might make that more difficult. They would have a natural defence, short circuits might be painful...

But I guess that there is always some who cant just let it be, I hope to avoid them, if possible...

 

At least lets hope that beautiful Mirai stays pure much longer.

Personally I see it as their problem if they think of dolls as fetish fodder or childish instead of art. I don't know why people anymore always seem to look at the worst sides of everything instead of the good things. Stupid people will be stupid.

She is going to be my first doll, I hope that people will still accept her as a "dollfie dream" , because I am only buying the robotic ver. Of the dolls Danny releases ^^ Her robotics prob won't be on ALL the time for me, I hope buy the next body she will be walking ^^ Plus she's the only "dd" who I've seen who's actually THE ONE was waiting for that doll to come out and now I found her So how will you all take it if I call her a dollfie dream?

Update: In Danny Choo's latest Desk Diary (2014/02), a little less than halfway down the page and then again about 3/4 of the way, he shows he created a smaller oppai for Mirai (the larger one is still going to be available, of course). So you can have her with a big anime bust, or one that's more reminiscent of human anatomy

 

I don't know if you'd have to buy her small chest piece separately or if you get the option between the busts when you buy her, but I sure am excited to find out! March is very soon

The internal skeleton seems to allow great range of movement with some really dynamic poses. There is one of the post he mentioned about the waist support for "floating" pose that has never been featured in any doll before. Very interesting concept but I'm not sure how practical it will be. And I'm a bit worried about durability since it has way too many joints. I really admire the way he's trying his best to make the most of both aesthetic and functionality but in any world, nothing can be too perfect. I'm afraid it might end up like the seamless DDS body, which was a buzz when introduced but never really was a successful move

I read that article just a few weeks ago LOL. It's very informative, especially since I haven't really been keeping up with Mirai at all. I'd like to have manual (reg) version since I'm still not sure I'm ready for the automatic version.

 

Have there been any updates on the release date?

Looks like the release date has been moved to May judging by his Tokyo Sightseeing entry (posted on 11/03/2014)

 

Making sure to take photos of Mirai-chan Smart Doll for the official site which we will revamp soon as we get nearer to the release date in May.

 

I was still under the impression that her release date was this March so I was wondering why we hadn't heard anything.
