Setting eyes in a DD?

Do you hot glue them in? Or do you use putty?

I always use putty I buy from the Walgreens drug store. They sell 4 sticks of wall poster sticky tack for like 3 bucks and it works really well in my girls. A few of my older girls do have hot glue in them but that stuff is hard to get out without damaging the eyes so I much prefer putty.

I have some set with online-bought official eye putty, but my more recent girls are with silicon ear plugs. I don't use hot glue because if you don't get the eye quite straight you have to start over, and also because the heat can crack the eyes. The official eye putty is nice, but too expensive for me. The ear plugs work well and are really easy but one downside I recently discovered via a friends doll is that after years it will turn waxy and sticky. So if you go that route, remember to change it every so often and it will be fine.

I do something similar to what baldylox does, I get poster tack at Michael's craft store. I think it was $2? I've been wanting to try the earplugs, but haven't gotten around to it yet. But the poster tack (plain white or light tan) works well from what I've seen so far!

I prefer silicon earplugs and it's been working well on both vinyl and resin.

Be very careful with poster tack since it can stain the doll because some poster tack has oils that damage the vinyl(this applies mostly to grey poster tack). But as kitsykat recommends, use white or light tan poster tack to avoid this kind of stains.
