littlebearries Posted June 14, 2011 What do you use to transport your girls from place to place?
littlebearries Posted June 14, 2011 Other than my Volks Super Dollfie carrying case, I use this: It's actually a diaper bag... but it hardly looks like one! It's got a design from one of my favorite Charlie Harper inspired artists, Eleanor from Pushmepullyou. There is room enough for my DSLR and a DD or a MDD and a book (and then some, but that's all I've put in there so far)... I haven't yet tried putting a DD and MDD in there at the same time. Milk Posted June 14, 2011 I only had one outing with my DD and I had to put her into one of those smaller sport bags. Next to boxes of food because we were out to a picnic. It definitely wasn't the best way to do but I couldn't handle it different. I'd like to find a better way to transport my DD, though. Gotta say that diaper bag looks kinda neat. Would you recommend diaper bags in that way to anyone? home ‣ Victoria Beatrice {DD Beatrice} ▪ DD 2B ▪ DDB 9S ▪ Lavi {TF Murphy} ▪ Mocha {TF Fluffy} ▪ Anastasia {TF Ashley} ▪ TakoTako {TF Piercy} waiting for ‣ DDS Alisaie ▪ DDSB Alphinaud ▪ TinyFox Poison
mitsuki Posted June 14, 2011 That is such a cute bag! Sometimes I just walk out of my apartment complex to the park close by. If I go further, I have a Volks bag (mixed tweed) or a couple of other large tote bags I got from Bath & Body Works. They have some fun designs and colors of large tote bags. Would you recommend diaper bags in that way to anyone? I have to say, the diaper bag is awesome. They're reinforced with hard bottoms because they have to carry baby food jars and bottles and stuff you don't want to break, so the dolls (and my camera) are really secure and have nice padding around them. This one I bought was only $24.99 on Amazon... the trick with diaper bags... is finding one that doesn't look like a diaper bag XD Mitsuki: I used to tote mine around in tote bags too... but I was always worried because they had flimsy walls... do Bath and Body Works make more stable ones? mitsuki Posted June 14, 2011 I put a little box and towels in the bag for structural support.
mitsuki Posted June 14, 2011 OK, I guess the box is kind of big.

Well, I guess I'll have to look around for a nice diaper bag, then. If they're more affordable than a Volks carrier I'll definitely try them out. home ‣ Victoria Beatrice {DD Beatrice} ▪ DD 2B ▪ DDB 9S ▪ Lavi {TF Murphy} ▪ Mocha {TF Fluffy} ▪ Anastasia {TF Ashley} ▪ TakoTako {TF Piercy} waiting for ‣ DDS Alisaie ▪ DDSB Alphinaud ▪ TinyFox Poison
fenrir z78 Posted June 15, 2011 I have not had anywhere to take my girls so I dont have a bag or anything like that.
mitsuki Posted June 15, 2011 Are your girls sad they don't go out, fenrir z78? Or maybe they prefer having adventures at home.
baldylox Posted June 15, 2011 I use a Volks black carry case. I can only carry 3 girls in it max tho. Anymore than that and I have to use a huge duffel bag I normally use as luggage. I used that when I took 5 girls to the park that one time. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.
MaxArcher Posted June 15, 2011 It has occurred to me that a baseball bat bag would be a decent cheap solution for DD carrying. I was actually looking at them for lightstands and thought of it. Obviously you'd have to wrap the dolls to prevent staining, but that's the case with any bag that's not meant for them. I'm using the Volks Black Lattice bag. I can't believe people are putting three or more dolls in them, I put two in mine once and thought it was kinda iffy. DD Beatrice - DD Saber/EXTRA

LOL, same here, when I put Alna and Noumi together in my Volks carrying case I have to think, "OK, girls, no fighting, no touching, no staining!"
AntElitist Posted June 15, 2011 VOLKS bag is kinda big isn't it? I have one and when Mashiro is playing outside, I put all her clothing in there LOL!

It's certainly a bit unwieldy... I'm never quite sure exactly where it is, and I'm always bashing it into stuff That's why I love the diaper bag... much easier to keep track of where it is, LOL

But I figure out if I need to go out from my town, I need the bag. So yeah after through experience of squeezing poor Mashiro into a small bag many times, I finally decided to get a decent bag. And that's the VOLKS carrying bag. Hopefully I can bring it over to Singapore few months later
littlebearries Posted June 15, 2011 It's true, I certainly don't worry about the girls when they're in there at all!
mitsuki Posted June 16, 2011 Here are some of my travel options: This one is difficult to carry around. I have a box inside for support. This is a large somewhat rigid bag from Bath & Body Works. Sakura can sit in it. I usually wrap the DD in a towel, but it would make it harder to see. This bag is shorter in length. I put a box in for Sakura to sit on. She can almost be completely hidden in the bag. She prefers looking out. This is the newest bag I have. It is the Volks mixed tweed carrying bag. I originally got a black one, but Halcyon was nice enough to trade with me. I like the colors. Sakura fits lying down. She can also travel with some pillows to make her more comfortable. Thank you for looking.
baldylox Posted June 16, 2011 Aww! I love that outfit! And Sakura look ssooo cute in it! Great pics on how you use your bags! A nice variety you have there. And this is only a guess but are you using Sakura here as a message to me? I know you and Jun97 were pushing hard for me to get a Sakura before so I'm thinking this is your subliminal message to me.... scripple Posted June 17, 2011 I really like Sakura's outfit in those pictures, can I ask where you got it? I also like the pic of her peeking out of the red bag. Very cute. mitsuki Posted June 17, 2011 Thank you, scripple. I like her peaking out of the bag too. It is an old Volks outfit: http://www.volksusa.com/ofkor20100502.html Baldylox found one once and got it through Kerby Lane, so I think there are some out there still.
