MsGeek Posted July 11, 2011 Here's how I carry the Furious Five: Out Of The Carrier by msgeek93, on Flickr Sorry that the dolls pictured are my Obitsus, not my Dollfie Dreams, but I took this at the Obitsu booth at AX. That was the first time they ever made it to an American con! So cool. They loved my Z and Mitzi. Dollieh Bag on the Inside by msgeek93, on Flickr I wrap my dolls in baby blankets, and then use towels and whatnot to separate the two layers of dolls. The foam rubber you see lining the duffel is not ordinary foam rubber, but "museum foam" which is a special kind of shock resistant polymer foam used for the inside of crating for works of art being transported or stored. It's pretty awesome stuff. A friend of mine works for a company that does that, so he got me a couple of nice big thick sheets of it. I only needed one sheet for the interior of the case, plus a piece to go on top of the doll "sandwich" inside. I have a full sheet left for other things. Dollieh Bag's Wheels by msgeek93, on Flickr The piece de resistance is this: the case has inline skate wheels for transport. The resulting package is actually fairly light...Dollfie Dreams only weigh about a kilogram, after all, and so do Obitsus...but somewhat bulky. Add to it transporting a lot of props and the wheelchair for Sarge and you have a problem unless you have doll roadies. But just a few dolls? Cake. Even on public transit. MaxArcher Posted July 12, 2011 I actually bought a very similar Wilson tennis bag for my lighting equipment. The wide end is perfect for a reflector, and it's just the length for lightstands! It occurred to me that it'd work for a doll, as well. DD Beatrice - DD Saber/EXTRA
Nakitaninja Posted July 12, 2011 Ahhh! Halcyon totally wanted to know what bag he could carry his dolls in that wasn't hot pink and covered in flowers. The tennis bag makes perfect sense! How smart. ^^

It doesn't has even a scratch, and I have it for 2 years!
juu-yuki Posted December 25, 2011 I hope I am posting this in the right place. I am looking at some doll carriers and came across some from DollMore http://dollmore.net/shop/step0.php?b_code=B20051128015257&c_code=C20051225113349. Galvatim Posted December 25, 2011 That looks like an interesting bag, Juu-yuki! I wonder if that extra pocket on the side could fit a stand? That's one thing I don't like about Volks' bag, the base of my metal base C-type stand fits in the outer side pocket, but the stand part has to go inside by my doll. I'm probably being paranoid, Aoi survived her journey in my Volks bag without a scratch.
juu-yuki Posted December 25, 2011 That looks like an interesting bag, Juu-yuki! Now that you've mentioned it I really hope the side pocket can fit a stand. I am using a coolcat stand that can be easily disassembled. If the rods don't fit in the side pocket I could always just wrap them in something to prevent them from damaging my girls. From the photos the side pocket looks kind of weak. I probably wont be able to put something as heavy as a stand in there since I am scared of it ripping. I was thinking about getting a bag from Volks but I might as well wait for the 06 head and hands to come back in stock. Must save on shipping!!!! http://juu-yuki.com Dolly Shop: http://www.lizanna.com
DJStarstryker Posted December 25, 2011 I have the Volks hard case that looks like a violin case. I wanted a hard case because about the time I adopted her I was moving from the East Coast of the US to Hawaii. I didn't trust the movers with Rin, so I took her with me on the plane and carried her as a carry on luggage. I haven't really taken her out of the house other than that one adventure, but I'm moving again in the summer so I'll certainly need it. I really would like some way to carry around multiple dolls in one bag though, since I'll have 2 more dolls next year. I haven't figured out my solution to this issue yet. Are you ready to rock? ^_^
SakuraSylph Posted December 27, 2011 That is an interesting question. To expand on the OP a little, if you're carrying multiple daughters (to a convention, to a photoshoot across town, moving), how do you carry them all together? The Volks SD carrying bag (black or tweed type) looks like it might hold two dolls laid on top of one another. But I've seen people bring four or more girls with them! Maybe you could just pack them carefully, with lots of padding, in a standard carry-on size suitcase? It should be big enough to fit their 22" length... But of course be sure to carry-on so that the airline baggage gorillas don't get hold of them. I looked at a soft-sided cat carrier for airlines, but that was only 20" long so the girls would have to ride at a diagonal. Probably best to find something else. archangeli Posted December 27, 2011 DD's a fairly indestructible - and unlike their resin Super Dollfie sisters you don't have to worry about fingers or noses breaking in transit. I've taken 2 DD's and a MDD, with 2 doll stands and a bunch of accessories and wigs (in boxes to protect their style) in the Volks long carrier bag before and they were quite comfy. I think that if I were to put 4 dolls it would get a bit cramped. I've talked about how I carry my girls around in this blog post. I've taken Moe, Chibi-Aerie and Mélisande with me as airplane carry-on under very different packing situations; and how I carry a doll around when I'm at home, versus on vacation is slightly different. Mahoro Posted January 22, 2012 put back in the original plastic, and then wrapped in at least 2 layers of towels, and then all into a sports bag. It seems to work pretty well for the few times I take them out. But I don't normally go outside with them a lot.
Traveller Posted January 22, 2012 Here are some of my travel options: This is the newest bag I have. It is the Volks mixed tweed carrying bag. I originally got a black one, but Halcyon was nice enough to trade with me. I like the colors. Sakura fits lying down. She can also travel with some pillows to make her more comfortable. Thank you for looking. When Sae went to Tokyo last year she travelled in my hand held bage rolled up into a ball shape so that she would fit. You should had her her complain about sharing the bag with my small netbook and 2 compact cameras. Sooooooooooooo..... when I brought Aoi at the Volks store the kind lady found me the tweed bag in here huge draws under the display unit. It is nice and big and fits 2 DD well. I have yet to try three girls in it, but there is room for clothes, wigs and hands inside. I like MItsuki's idea of pillows and will see if I can find some for my return to Japan in Dec 2012. I like MItsuki's idea of pillows and will see if I can find some for my return to Japan in Dec 2012. I have a black version of the bag you and Mitsuki have and while a little crowded, it WILL fit 3 girls inside. I have had Manami, Yoko and Rei inside before with room enuff for 2 stands and some extra hands and hairbrushes. I couldn't have any extra padding tho so I used small, light colored hand towels to cover their faces and protect them. And I have done this MANY times with no issues at all. As for pillows, they work very well if you are only carrying one or two girls in that bag. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop. Zukin Posted January 22, 2012 I generally wrap them in a white towel. I really need to get a bag of some sort...I imagine I'd bring them out more if I did.

kymaera Posted January 23, 2012 I have a large bag that I bought from Target. I wrap them in white towels to protect them and lug them around like that. It can fit quite a few..more than I'd want to carry. Think I've carried up to four before and it wasn't full.

Does anyone have one of these bags and can give me a bit more information as to how good they are? I have one of these bag. The 26 inch Light Carrage Bag (Beige). There's quite alot space clearance after putting your DD, you can secure it with the adjustable clips. I could fit a stand, a 200mm lens and a few more items after securing with the clips. The $25 would probably be ideal, cheaper than the Volks bag too. Unless you would like to separate the items and a bigger bag then go for the $52. I love the way you can carry it, be it holding by your hands or slinging it around you to carry. Hope it helps
