Rin would just tell Len that he can have all the 'cake' part, and then after he agrees point out that only the very bottom chocolate layer base counts as 'cake' and all the mouse and cream is hers.

@Eustia very cute ^^

Something for Hallowe'en,

When I thought about doing this photo, I first thought I didn't need to completely dress up Melty in her default set, just maybe her hat and top. Then I realized I'd probably need her sleeves as well, so fine, I'll go through the pain of putting the whole outfit on. It shouldn't take too long...

IT TOOK AN HOUR.

The white elastic bands that go around the sleeves and socks (and are sewn to them too) are time consuming. Sometimes you're lucky and you get the leg/arm/whatever positioned just right so it slides through all the elastic loops perfectly and slips on. Other times (i.e. always) it gets stuck and you have to carefully pull the elastic to stretch it to let the part past it, but not using your fingernails so you don't rip the fabric, then maybe pulling it off a bit so there's more slop to work with... feh.

It's worth it though because she's so pretty in it

When you get them dressed up in outfits like that, you have to take a lot of pictures to help make it worth your while.

She does look good. Quite worth the trouble.

Been a while since I took any photos, figured that today was as good a day as any to get the camera out again

Joy of joys, these Volks socks are printed using dye sublimation.

They don't stain and the printing is 100% durable. The process lets you print whatever image you want on fabric, but the downside is that it's 100% polyester fabric, which imposes limits on what you want to do with it (for example, it doesn't look or feel like cotton). The insides of the socks are white, because that's how dye sublimation works (it's white fabric and the machine fuses the print to one side). That also means it's not 100% black like something dyed traditionally, as it stretches you can kind of see hints of white underneath.

This was a risky buy but these socks are wonderful Hopefully Volks will use this for more stuff.

Wow that's amazing! Thank you for explaining this process because I was wondering about that. Are there hobbyists who are able to do this same thing on their own? How does someone obtain the supplies to get this done?

The dye sublimation stuff I had experience with (sportswear) is not something you'd have in your home, it was heavy machinery. However it sounds like there's modern stuff for small scale things, but it's probably still expensive. ::checks:: yup, still expensive,

https://www.rolanddga.com/products/printers/texart-rt-640-dye-sublimation-printer

That's not heavy machinery suited to large volumes but it's very, very convenient (・・') Actually I wouldn't be too surprised if local graphics print shops have machines you can use (or maybe just shops on the Internet). If you were doing socks, you'd make an image that has a ton of sock patterns on it. You'd print this onto fabric, then cut out your sock patterns and sew them into socks (so instead of a graphics shop printing on paper, they'd print on fabric instead). Actual cost per print is cheap, like a dollar for two square metres for the large volume equipment. That's a lot of doll socks.

Cool!!! Thank you so much for the tips!! I'll have to talk about this with my graphic design friend to see if she can do something. I LOVE those socks you've got on your girl.

Or printed tee shirts.

Glad to hear about these socks, as I bought some. I didn't notice they were still white on the inside, now I have to go check. Now please find some 'shopped fun below.

For my 1st time trying something like this, I think it came out well. And Miku loved the attention (She felt it had been lacking as of late.). 5 outfits and 3 wigs in one night is a new record for her.

so.. uh.. just a tiny note - this is not 'shooped, and is now my fav picture EVAH

Thru an absolutely insane combination of cirbleepstances what u see is exactly what the camera snapped ... (Imma... go lie down now....)

31288361141_4a82a55199_z.jpg

EDIT: for anyone confused: the camera started falling once the shutter button was already pressed (the wind was knocking everything over!) so the light 'trails' created bizarre patterns. Saber's coat & hair are flailing from the gust of wind already

(this is kinda principle behind light writing photography, 'cept for those the camera is held still & the light-sticks are moved around)

Foo, thanks so much for telling us about the socks! I'd been interested in them but was worried, but after your post I went and got some for my Len. ...although he has a body stocking on under them anyway but that's cos I was worried about the shorts on his outfit.

Anyway just wanted to show off the nakayoshi hands I got yesterday.

CywnL4EVIAEWXh9.jpg

CywnL4KVEAA-a6c.jpg

They came out yesterday, so I expect there may be some floating around on yahoo auctions for those interested (at inflated prices, probably, but what can you do).

Really wish they'd make them standard as I want the MDD ones eventually, as I know I'm getting an MDD one day. I just dont want to buy too much stuff for dolls I dont have;; Here's hoping they'll eventually at least make them an Akiba limited item, at least that way they'll be slightly easier to get hold of.

Also @chise: what's actually happening there? Christmas lights? Fireflies?

That outfit is on point. It and Len's styling in general really really look perfect for a certain young man in the 1800s I love the pushing-up glasses pose too.

also the Pure Neemo in the stocking is too cute ^__^

And I love that fakeish cheesy smile she has that all kids make when you point a camera at them, make she all that much more kawaii.
