Chise, what bust sizes will Sheryl's default outfit fit with? Now that I have Ranka's concert outfit, I feel like it would be nice to have Sheryl's to go with it. But I noticed that Sheryl is listed with some kind of special bust size? I'm not sure if I want to buy yet another bust like I had to for Ranka's outfit (needed an S bust).

ok, so Sheryl is an L-bust, the bustier top closes with hooks in the back. There are 2 rows of loops for the hooks to work into, so the top will fit both L & M busts (S-bust would be far too roomy, top won't stay up)

Saber is an M-bust, the top stays on her very well!

 

I'm wondering if maybe Volks did the adjustable sizing to make up for Sheryl's 'smooth' bust (couple millimeters do make a difference in fit) and because the front zipper can be undone so the clothes needed extra grip around the waist to stay put

I had doubts before she arrived because her eyes in the promo shots weren't helping, and seeing her behind glass displays in Japan didn't woo me enough. But as soon as I got her I was in awe at how pretty she was, even though she wasn't quite right. It took some effort (and money) but now she constantly amazes me

She is lovely. Here's Yaya hamming it up trying to be all seductive.

It's Sakuya's turn but I didn't get to do anything with Yaya last year because the weather was poor. And then there's Rin, who's kind of hard to refuse. Except most of the time I spent taking this photo was spent brushing Rin's hair because the fibres are so light and fluffy (･･') Taking that wig out into the wild feels like I'm asking for trouble.

Oh hey you're going too? I'm still deciding if I'll bring anyone but I probably won't because it's easier that way. (Took Rin and Mel last time) It's times like this I wish I had an MDD because that would be easier...

The one thing that happens when you knit is that you start draping your knitting over everything! Miku looks so nice and cozy with my shawl-in-progress though. I might have to make her one in this scale because it looks so cozy.

 

I can't wait until I can get myself teeny tiny needles. Then I can also make her a full sized one in scale too!

It was actually pretty fun having them there! I got Mel to hold my bingo card. He probably jinxed it, the git.

There's a cloakroom there so if you do decide to take them you can leave them there for most of the day and then take them out if you wanna use the photo spaces/etc. But I understand that its kind of a hassle which is probably why I wont this time. I mostly took Mel last time because I actually had his disembodied head in my bag (and his body in the cloakroom) so I could check the size of some things like eyes and hats I was looking for to get him. (I asked beforehand - they let me try them on him and hold the eyes up to his face etc). For a while I'd also been wanting Sheryl's head and by coincidence someone had a Sheryl displaying one of the outfits they were selling so I was able to hold his head up to hers to compare sizes (and now I know Sheryl's is too small for what I wanted.) I didnt actually end up using the photo spaces but I did take them out in the chill-out area and one of the Volks USA staff came up to talk to me because apparently I can be recognized by my dolls?! (...as for why Rin came, it's because I put Mel in the bag and then I looked at Rin and felt guilty for leaving her behind lmao I only had those two DDs at that point).

 

My main reason for not taking them this time is because I'm going with friends (including one I'm dragging along - I paid for her ticket to make up for it. It's not that she dislikes dolls, she's actually vaguely interested in them and is still looking forward to it and enjoyed my photos from last year, I just feel kinda bad hurling her into the deepend like this) and dont really wanna keep them waiting while I take 3 million pictures. But if I go to the Osaka one in August I'm definitely taking at least one.

 

Anyway as for photo-randoms I got Mel new eyes recently. These are from the same maker as his last ones - Tortei - in a different style, cos I wanted the style to match Bri's. I wasn't sure about them for a while but I think they're really cute now, although he looks a good deal younger. The colour is a much better match for the emerald green he's meant to have though.
