Which SQLab head do you think makes a good male?

The question is pretty self explanatory - there's a thread of which LE dollfie heads look good as guys, but SQLabs has more options I think at a much more reasonable price..

 

If you have any ideas or even photos of your SQLab boys post them here : ) I'd love to see them!

Definitely Sylvia and Ayumi (though where the latter has poofed to I don't know), and Iris and Wakana could probably pull it off with the right faceup in my opinion.

Yeah I was thinking Wakana myself - only b/c it's a very thin kind of angular face instead of the petite acorn shape that the others have. Iris too might be able to pull off the bishie look very well.

Hm, SQ labs might be difficult to make a boy out of because they are smaller than DD heads (or so I hear). If you put them on a male body that's bigger than a DD, I imagine they'd look pin-headed. Still curious to see what it would actually look like, though.

Ha, funny you should bring up this topic. This is what I ordered a Kirie head for. It was between Tsubaki and Kirie but I chose Kirie for the smirk. It's for a custom Tsukiyomi Ikuto. Since the head is smaller, I'm thinking of putting it on an Obitsu 55 body, so I don't know if he'll interact with the DDs at all or not yet. It depends on if they make him look too small. I wouldn't want to embarrass him.

I don't think head size will be an issue. I have plenty of big resin guys and their wig sizes are between 8-9 and 9-10. You'll want your biggest, buff ones with the bigger heads... The skinny ones can have smaller heads. I personally prefer them to lean towards "pin-size" than "bobble-head", because the former is more elegant looking (and they'll look more like the ideal of male beauty in manga/anime).

yeah totally only considering the SQlab heads for the obitsu55 for right now. The Kirie on a DDS body doesn't look at all too small I think it's all about the forehead size. Like the Wakana head, that's got a big melon forehead from the stock photos... (reminds me of the 07 forehead).

 

SQlab seems like a much more viable option without too much money being wasted - say 90$ for the head to do a test with Wakana and see if you can turn it into a male head vs one of the more expensive LE heads like Saber or Rise then worry about removing the old faceup (ugh) and either doing it yourself or having a commission done on it.

 

I'm not completely versed on the colors though between SQLab and Obitsu - is it the SQLab NS or WS that matches with Obitsu's NS color?

 

Kaoru also looks like a good head for like the nerdy or very nice anime boy character.. XD

Well it's DD normal that is close to Obitsu white. Their NS is too dark. So theoretically SQLab "DD normal" should be close to Obitsu white,although we'll see.

a friend of mine has a Kirie and Misty boy, though I currently own an Iris boy. I think Haruka could probably also be a good fit too.

Awesome someone on doa contacted me with an iris head so now I have a head to try to turn male. At least resin is more forgiving With being able to wipe the faceup repeatedly Should you decide you don't like it.. But now I'm getting the head ill need to get an obitsu body... Dun dun dunnnn XD
