eilime Posted February 21, 2013 Hello! I guess I'll start by saying that I have always always always been heavily into dolls. I used to subscribe to many doll magazines in my early teen years and even when I was younger, always pining after a resin BJD (because of the realism, size, and the clothes- as well as I've always been a writer and wanted to see my characters come to life) but knowing they were way too costly for me. As I got older, my interest seemed to die down because of the fact that I felt I'd never be able to have one. I became very interested in anime and manga from the age of about sixteen. Anime has sort of dragged me back into the doll hobby and Dollfie Dream has become the epitome of the perfect doll. I don't have one yet, but now that I'm in college I've finally got the money to be able to save up and create the doll I want- piece by piece. I'm a teenage girl so it's no surprise that I'm into shojo, both anime and manga! There are a few animes that are shonen which I really like, but it is rare. This is important because the doll I'm creating is going to be based after Haruna Nagashima from my favorite manga Koukou Debut. It's girly, I know! I hope for her to be DD3 body because she is supposed to be tall for a teenage girl. In my mind I actually have my own version of Haruna which is a little different from the character in the manga, but in subtle ways. There are also some male characters which I would like to eventually create, but since VOLKS doesn't make male Dollfie Dreams I was going to rather create my own female characters with similar personalities to those characters who just happen to like to cosplay as the male characters. The male characters I'd love to have cosplayers of are Tamaki Suoh from Ouran Host Club (DDdy), Mitsukuni "Honey" Haninozuka also from Ouran (MDD), and Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist (DDS). I love to sew so I would probably make the cosplay costumes for all of my girls that wanted to- just like real cosplayers do! I've been lurking on this forum for a while and I figured it was probably time to introduce myself! Sorry to ramble your ears off that way, I'm a bit of a rambler- but I just have all these ideas in my head that I need to get out! I'm so excited to start my DD adventure and I'm excited that there is a forum of people who are of like interest to discuss these things with!

Well it wont be too new to me! I have a terrible online shopping habit as is so I hardly ever have a happy bank account. I always just have enough in there for my netflix bill. I'm lucky because I'm still in school and I don't have to pay real bills yet Hello! I too am a fellow Missourian! I am also new to the site! I just today received my first DDS. Ooh that's so exciting that you got your DDS! Does she have name yet? I'm in the area where the university of Missouri is so not to terribly far away! It will probably be many months for me before I get my DD but when the time comes maybe we could have a meetup, it would be nice to know other people in the hobby and see their dolls
