emilymgaither Posted February 26, 2013 Hello! My name is Emily and I am a new member of the Dollfie Dream world. I have been admiring BJD dolls for years, but only in the last six months have I discovered Dollfie Dreams. I just today received my first girl in the mail. She is the beautiful Dollfie Dream Sister standard model Mayu. I decided to name Her Eden May. I am currently a student in the St. Louis area, studying theatrical costume design. This is my senior year, about to graduate in may, I have too much free time! I believe this is what first caught my attention with the The Dollfie Dreams. I LOVE making doll clothing. I bought Eden with the intent on designing clothing for her, possibly even opening my own Etsy shop or something. Do people often buy hand made DD clothing? It shall be a very fun adventure anyway! I am very excited to have found this site, I hope to get to know all of you very well! -Emily Martha
Bluefox99 Posted February 26, 2013 Ahhhh, another Missourian has appeared. Mid-west Dollfie Dream owners are a rare breed around here, surprising to see two of them pop up this month! Congratulations on taking the first step into the world of Dollfie Dreams with Mayu. I don't see many people on this board who own her and it makes me happy to see another fellow Mayu owner! As far as clothing goes, lots of people are always looking for custom clothing for their girls. You could start off with making a couple pieces and selling them to test the market. Don't be shy about asking questions here either. Lots of friendly people here that will take the time to help you out. At Home: Nanoha, Ilya, Sasara, Rin Tohsaka, Sakura Matou, Saber Lily, Saber Alter ver. 2, Kud, Yuki Morikawa, Yumi(DDH-06 limited), Sakuno, Mayu, Yukino, Sakuya Maxima, Neris, Candy ,Marisa, Melty, Nanami, Sakuya Izayoi, Erica, Miku, Rin Shibuya
eilime Posted February 26, 2013 Hi Emily! I saw that you responded to my own post and I had asked you a question, but it was answered here in your post! It's really cool that you're a theatrical design major because I am an acting major, I'm a first year but we get our degree in three years here so I'm sort of a second year or at least on schedule with sophomores instead of freshmen. Also, my first doll Haruna will have the same face sculpt as Mayu does. I think the wide smile is so adorable and conveys a really happy personality- which is why I love it! I started school in Columbia MO then moved here to St. Louis. Luckily I was able to do this program in three years as well. Its nice getting out a little early. We live very close! I live in the Webster Groves area. So not too far away at all! It will be wonderful having someone close by who enjoys the hobby. Most of my friends think i'm a little crazy. Do you know anyone else in the area who is interested? We might have to do a little hunting and find a group! I know of one other girl who is a freshman at my school. She has a cute little Elven Bobobie doll named Charlotte. I adore the face sculpt Mayu has, she is even more beautiful in person. She has such an innocent soft look about her! I have been noticing a lot of midwest girls in this introductions section. Its refreshing to know there are others close by. I live in the St. Louis area. Do people often meet up here in Missouri? I would love to get to know more doll lovers in person. Thank you so much! I am very excited to own Mayu. I feel like she is a great starter doll for me. She is so sweet! She completely got my flame started in the DD world. I can't get enough of it now! Thanks for the advice! I think thats exactly what I will do!
kitsykat Posted February 27, 2013 More DD owners in the midwest is a very good thing! Nice choice on Mayu, I think she has a really nice expression. That would be great if you opened an etsy store for DD clothes! Volks is fairly limited, so handmade clothes provide more options.

I don't really know of anyone else who is interested around here, I'm not originally from Missouri so any of my friends back home who are interested are very far away. There seem to be more and more people joining this forum each day who are from Missouri though, a meet up seems pretty feasible for us. I would be interested in a meet up even before I have my doll complete just for the sake of seeing a finished one in person! Is your Mayu pictured in your avatar? That's such an adorable pose she's in, it seems like she could be sitting across from me at a table just chatting at me you know? I love the way that Dollfie Dreams have so much lively energy in photos. I'm sure they have even more personality in real life. (:

I would love to show off Mayu a bit! I can't wait for you to see one in person, they are even more charming and lovable! We need to start a thread in the "Meet -ups" section and start collecting Missouri people! There is no reason we cant be the ones to start a Missouri group!! Lets do this! I'm motivated now! By looking around we might even find people already meeting, or more people then we expected in this area! Yes that is my beautiful Mayu in my picture! She is unbelievably cute! I will have to post some pictures in the next few days. She had a baby photo shoot yesterday in her little white slip. Its amazing how these dolls look good in the simplest of things.
