Somonul's Face-ups

Thought I'd share my first attempt at painting a DD Head. :S The eyes are custom eyes, made by me also.

Took me about a week of designed multiple attempts a crossing realistic with anime style. Eventually I decided on a anime/gothic feel to it.

I need some hair bad -_-

 

 

Any feedback's welcome, sure was a fun learning experience, and quite addicting too! Might have to get another head just to fool around with.

 

I used ZM Finishing Powder Spray UV-Cut, and I have a question on that... is it prone to clogging? That stuff dries super fast I noticed During my original sealing, after about a few hours of work and sealing another coat the thing started spraying out big chunks... not sure if that's common, after that it would clog up like crazy. Is this normal or? :S I really loved the texture it left when it sprayed though!

Sure wish there was a ctrl+z in real life for stuff like that...

 

 

Do you mean that the spraycan is clogging? One easy trick to avoid that is to "clean" the can after use. Hold the can upside down and spray a couple of short burst into the air.

Yeah, well it originally out of the clear blue, started spraying out 'chunks' after that it would clog. I do flip the can upside down and spray air to clear after each use too. And shake the can really well too ;) Stuff dries really fast too I notice. Was baffling.

She came out really nice! I really like how the 18mm's look in the DDH-02 as well. I look forward to seeing your next head project, In fact I may even have to commission you for Akiha unless my DDH-07 pre-paint works out.

The eyes look really cool! How did you do them?

 

The face up... it's nice, to be your first Just try to lighten it, especially in the lips part, and you'll see how much better it'll be
