Hitomi's first snow!

Actually, this is the first REAL snow *any* of my girls have seen. There were some random flakes a few years ago at my house that my first 3 girls saw but it didn't last but a few minutes and no flakes were big enuff to even see in photos.

 

But this past weekend I went up to visit some friends in Charlotte and when we woke up on Saturday morning, it was snowing some big ol' fat flakes! So I rushed outside with Hitomi so she could see her first snow!

I tried to get a shot of the snow falling from the sky but the sky was the same color as the snow here.

It really started coming down heavy here. I haven't seen this kind of snow in a LONG time. I know it isn't much for you guys who live where you get HUGE amounts of snow but ANY snow is amazing to me.

I wish the snow would have stuck but it didn't. At least we got some cute pics from it tho and Hitomi enjoyed it almost as much as I did.

That is just awesome! We had some snow out here in the desert a few weeks ago, (and they were some big fat flakes, just like in your pics!) but, sadly, I was at work when it happened.

Ah, well, the girls and I'll enjoy Hitomi and her first snow vicariously.....

Thank you sir! My timing is usually like yours is, either it snows while I'm asleep or where my girls aren't around or I never see anything I can actuall photograph. So since this snow was easy to see and I was with camera and DD, I ran outside to get as many pics as possible.

Thank you! That stupid hydrant is right in my friends yard and there's nothing he can really do to hide it well. But it worked out for Hitomi since she could stand there and easily be seen. You're lucky that you get REAL snow to take pics of your girls in... I'd like some of that down here just once.

Thank you very much! I've been wanting snow pics with my girls ever since I got my first. So far I haven't gotten any good ones until now. So as soon as I saw the snow on Saturday morning, I was out the door with Hitomi in tow. I'd love pics of the girls in some deep snow with snowmen and snowball fights but this will have to do for now.

Congrats! I'm so glad that at least one of your girls finally got to experience snow. Plus, it was the big fat fluffy flakes, which are the absolute best, IMO. Even better, it was Hitomi, who seems the most likely to appreciate it.

I just loved this line, for some reason. I guess the picture in my head of her drinking hot chocolate just kind of made me giggle inside. Plus, the picture along with it was super adorable. She looks extra cute with the snowflakes in her hair. One of these winters, you're going to have to head north for a few days to show the girls what real snow is like, but until then, this will do.

 

I've been pretty disappointed with the winters here, the last few years. We used to get at least two feet built up that would stick around for over a month, but the last five or so years we're lucky to see even a couple inches on the ground, and that rarely lasts a week.

Heh, glad you liked that. We were both thinking it tho because while it wasn't super cold on it's own out there, the wind was whipping! We were out there about 15 minutes and my feet were going numb due to it. I also liked the snow in her hair, it was a good look and made her even cuter IMO.

 

I wouldn't mind going into the mountains or something next winter for a weekend with a few girls for photo shoots. But finding the money and timing it so I don't catch a blizzard or only 1/100th of an inch of snow is difficult.

It is! I couldn't pass it up either since I knew i wouldn't be seeing snow again any time soon. And yes, she had a really great time out there, she made sure to tell her sisters all about it. Thank you about the pictures!

Yeah the fluffy snow was really nice to see. I wish we got more where I live. She did enjoy the snow and we both got some hot chocolate later on!

Hee hee, her cuteness *may* have had something to do with the snow melting off fast.... or maybe it was the temperature outside. Either way we had a good time out there messing around. Thank you so much about Hitomi and her eyes! These are new eyes for her and I REALLY like them. I got them from PlasticFantastic but I don't know who makes them.
