Kimochi Posted March 8, 2013 Hi! After some lurking I decided to outright join the forum. About me: I am a 23 year old woman and I collect Resin BJDs. So far I own a Volks Kurumi, Volks Michele, Resinsoul Ariel and Resinsoul Elena. I attend college for English with hopes of becoming an ESL teacher overseas in East Asia. I have 3 cats, and 2 dogs. Right now I am waiting for my air compressor to come in so I can practice faceups. I'm eager to make friends in the DD hobby and I am currently saving up for my first Dollfie Dream. I have a few BJDs but no DDs. I love the DDS body and the DD2 body. I like smaller chests on my dolls since it makes it easier to sew for them, but I honestly wouldn't mind a Peach Pai chest part. You will able to understand what are the values in a DD and why some (parts, DDs) are more expensive then others since you will have to hunt for every single thing (head, wig, body, clothes, accessories etc.) I was scared to start with a limited girl, not mentioning a highly wanted one like Yuki M. (the one I'm after ^^) because I felt that I might get her too easy - let alone price of course - so that I will never know anything in the background. I wouldn't have had a chance to learn so much about DD related such as the lottery system or all the custom DD available out there if I had decided to go with a limited girl. I was considering just getting a head at first and using it on a BJD body until I can get the parts together. DDs seem to be a league of their own from BJDs, however. I guess I view them as a more "upscale" doll? I don't know why since BJDs are already pretty high up there in terms of dolls. I would really like to get a damaged doll, actually! I have several damaged BJDs that I repaired and modded back to NEARLY full health, and I was going to look for a damaged or stained up DD to fix up.
