Somonul Studios Posted March 11, 2013 (edited) The time has finally come to open up a thread for my Project Hrist from VP Series. Costume I designed and made for her. I may have bitten off more then I could chew on this project, but I think in the end it'll be worth it for me, as a personal goal to complete, and a challenge of converting a more realistic plan into an elongated style armored figure. I recently dumped the 18mm eyes that I made, shown in my face-up thread in favor of some custom eyes I just made, designed around my story art. You can read more about the details on my blog if interested. http://somonul.blogspot.com/ I'll be posting major updates on this project in this thread. As well as other processes in the making of as time goes on and capital is saved up for this project. For now some clothing designing fun! :D And hair work... need some styling spray. I'll have to take some better pics in the upcoming days, maybe with Rose... Edited March 28, 2013 by Guest

Somonul Studios Posted March 12, 2013 Thanks! So much to learn and do, I need some dollfie hair styling stuff bad! Hrist got to meet Rose today, and went on her first road-trip! A short one, but I think she had a great time. Even with all the wind. ;) Hrist posing with Rose. I reallllly need to make her some normal cloths too. "No, no I don't want my picture taken! The winds messing up my hair!"
Somonul Studios Posted March 20, 2013 Update, I attempted sewing.... oh boy I designed something simple as a first sewing project, while trying to stay true to Hrist's theme. Crash course in pattern making, and learning how to work a sewing machine = joy :D More pics and information are updated on my blog. Now I need to draft up some biker/riding wear
Jezrah Posted March 20, 2013 Oh, that's quite good. I wouldn't guess that this was your first sewing project ever.
Poofiemus Posted March 20, 2013 Looks great! Can't decide if it reminds me of Egyptian or Aztec clothes, but either way she looks like a high-ranking ancient lady who should not be messed with. In this household, sanity is considered a tresspasser.
Somonul Studios Posted March 20, 2013 Thanks for the nice comments! Haha trust me, this project had it's up's and downs from learning curve, as I mentioned in my blog haha lots of ripping, restarting and stuff. I feel I learned a lot though in the making of all this! I just need to make some shoes now! Thanks Poofie! Looks like I hit it right on for her personality with the design, and you're right, it's ancient Egyptian inspired! Well Hrist wanted to go for a hike up north in Cave Creek today... I got woken up by her at around 6am to get ready About a mile hike later...

Somonul Studios Posted March 28, 2013 Thanks a bunch! Been pouring every ounce of free-time into this project almost Haven't even had time to finalize her tea-cup and scabbard, feel like I'm slack'n! D: Finally finished up her head crown though! It should pay a little more homage to Hrist. Think I'll use this pic as my main thread image...
Somonul Studios Posted April 27, 2013 Finally set aside some time to start working on, yet another, crazy sewing project, rather excited about this one too. Just finished the undershirt pictured below. Going to have to resize the overcoat's pattern however to fit with the undershirt, I didn't keep that in mind, but it'll be rather snug if not.... haha
Somonul Studios Posted May 7, 2013 Phew, finally finished her new gown, think I bite off more then I could chew with this project in making it but I'm rather excited with how it turned out. Hopefully others may agree More photos, and a more in depth log of the making of this gown can be found on my blog http://somonul.blogspot.com/
